Should birds be caged ,SOLD,RECAPTURED

This is part 2 of my tour around the sacred sites of laos historical temples, not normally one to spend a huge amount of time in this field , i was pleasantly surprised by the tranquil and authentic nature of this buddhist enclave. An interesting business which i saw outside the temple gates was the releasing of sparrows from small cages . The ladies had many cages and charge a fee to onlookers to have the birds set free . As crazy as it sounds they say it is good karma to pay to have birds set free. I say its cruel to have the birds in small cages , when they release them they simply catch the birds again .
