A couple of add ons as the video was running long: The issue was how quickly, the cadence of the tough defenders coming into the game. It’s not that defenders exist. I think the instant bleed damage he does to you even when you dex his basic attacks is actually so stupid. That’s the most unfair mechanic he has imo. warlock, storm, onslaught archangel kushala emma frost, both storms, kitty pride, to add to your 21:06 and there’s even more than that. Kate bishop and Nick fury can also take him. But he’s still a scary defender. I do personally love the warlock matchup as you can be decently aggressive once he’s infected.

The only thing I would like changed on Bullseye is his block penetration. It's far too powerful in war, even using the soft counters. But I do appreciate hard counters in the game. That's where the node creation and interaction come into play. Kabam has nerfed AA, Torch, and Nimrod through more advanced nodes. Tbh, a complaint could be made about not being able to use our favorite attackers as much anymore based on the advanced nodes/tactics. This is classic give and take so Kabam will need to have keen awareness when they launch new tactics, nodes, and champions. Great video as always Vega! Please, don't leave us!

Yeah these are all super valid and I agree. The block pen is also an issue and could be tuned way down. And tbh that was/is part of how Kabam killed war for me (the other issues you brought up)

I think we will Always see some hard counters impossible for this game too keep going and making certain defenders that eventually get counters it happened when Doom came then they brought in Torch it happened with Korg so kabam gave us Apocalypse and so forth but I agree we cant get full on class counters even Though Nega Sonics damage is not great and she seems very slow and very Squishy imo.😊

Node 49 all the time, can’t parry because of stunning reflection and after 2/3 hits into his block I’m getting parried. I have NTW and the evade places an indestructible on him so I’ve died with the “hard counter” in war

Totally agreed with all of this. Like we’ve talked about, I think the peni pendulum swung a little too far and she’s gaining a bit of relevance, but she was one of my first R4s and I took her out of my deck for almost 2 years until I got the 7 star rank 2, and that sucks. Only change I want to see on bullseye is the bleed on dex for basics, I like the skill ask on the SP1 for parrying to avoid the bleed, but when his AI is passive and you eat shit through no fault of your own having to dex and block his basics, that really sucks.

Bullseye was honestly the first defender that I genuinely didn’t want to fight against EVER… when he first came out and we had to fight him as part of the side quest, it made me angry and annoyed because I felt like no matter who I used or how hard I tried, he was gonna wipe the floor with my champs. I don’t mind fighting tough defenders but I at least want to feel like I can win or chip them down a fair bit before using the next champ on my team.

Bullseye did 8% of damage to your hp with just one special in block even with the last perfect block. If that high ranked sunspot didn’t get that last crit, wouldn’t that match have been an automatic loss based on the end results of you and your opponent. Also note this wasn’t a 7* with the pierce stat focus Also, with his evade, if he doesn’t throw his special, he can stall the match and lock you in the corner if you don’t have an evade counter. That should at least have the timer start after a bar of power on defense. Throw in the tactic defender + everything else, and he’s practically dominated war all Saga. Especially with the lower pool “viable” champs(such as warlock) cause of needing a tactic defender

I’m also not a fan of having super hard to dex specials BUT IF you can even dex it, Bleed damage. If you DONT dex it, crit and bleed damage. Got an evade? He’s an evade counter. Wanna phase? For me, AA is my go to bullseye counter. The only problem with AA is that hes very much RNG dependent. If you can’t get those neurotoxins up before bullseye gets to 1 bar, you’re screwed. Plus you still take a bunch of block damage

Personally I see NTW coming into decks pretty quickly as an ascended 6*, but I don’t believe she’ll be as dominant as Galan and Hulkling. Her raw damage isn’t high enough to become a staple BG champ long term. Current counters to Bullseye such as CGR, Sunspot and Sinister I think will out-score her anyway.

Great vid. The comparison to Peni fits. She went from being an autoban defender to not being in decks at all. Weapon X has been my favorite Bullseye counter. I like how the interaction between their kits made Weapon X a relevant attacker. I took NTW to r5 and chose to ascend r5 Sinister over her. Regen on crits and no bleed damage makes Sinister more forgiving against Bullseye if you make a mistake.

I’m on the complete other side of this argument. They’ve released champions where if you don’t have THE perfect champion you take unavoidable damage and that to me is completely absurd. When it comes to bullseye there are 2 changes to his kit that would make him fair. 1. If you dex, you should not take damage, and there should be a full dex mechanic for his specials if he continues to crit and bleed through block. Fighting the perfect fight vs bullseye never getting hit should not ever end up with you losing 30% health. Even with iceman who’s bleed immune I finish perfect fights at 70% because he crits through block and you can’t full dex sp1. 2. Killer Instinct should be on a 3 second timer. If you push him past a bar of power you should not be locked in place until he throws a special without an evade counter. There needs to be a way to take most champions into a fight without getting stuck in a mechanic that leads to unavoidable damage in a perfect fight. If you’re gonna release defenders with that many mechanics, then you need to provide hard counters and plenty of them so you can’t get banned out of hard counters. Like in my opinion the next tech champion released should be immune to neuroshock AND reverse controls AND daunted because all of those mechanics on onslaught are absolutely broken.

As somwbody who doesnt play high tier AW, i would love it if he didn't get nerfed because i pulled him as a 7* but won't rank him until i find out. However.... i believe he honestly should be toned down, even if it's just lowering his crit theough block damage. Even when you're bleed immune you take enough damage through block on the sp1. I don’t think he should be changed at all. A lot of people complain about him but we need good defenders in this game if not war will get stale and no real challenge. If they dumb down champs all there is next to do is to continue to make stupid nodes like they have now and in the past. I prefer harder defenders than stupid nodes. Negasonic is greatly needed. People tend to forget that Kabam has said publicly in the past that they were going to release champs that needed specific counters to beat them and that’s what they have done. People knew this and still get butt hurt if you don’t like it then stop playing the game its not that hard.

I don't like bullseye type defenders in general because it takes the skill and fun out of the game. Beating bullseye is more based on whether or not you get lucky and draft a good counter in bgs. They're making a lot of defenders like that now. The game should be - play well and get rewarded.

NTW should never have been released with her current kit. You mention that she will not solve all skill defender issues due to her lack of immunities, but that applies to every "overpowered" attacker that has invalidated entire classes of champions we've seen before (like Torch, Nimrod, Quake). In my opinion, there shouldn't exist a champion that invalidates an entire class in a vacuum because it introduces significant design challenges for the future. We've seen this play out before: they will have to introduce "anti-NTW" nodes into every mutant lane, but this solution has its own issues. All the weaknesses that counter NTW are also weaknesses of 90% of existing mutants (imagine they'll have to add hazard shift to every skill defender to counter her xd). As for Bullseye, a slight nerf should be enough: he should not apply bleed on successful dexterity (this way you are rewarded for fully evading his SP1) and decrease his block penetration. This is also the main difference between bullseye and onslaught. I can fight onslaught with any champ and take minimal dmg even without a counter (as long as you can dex sp1), I canno't do the same for bullseye. Additionally the issue with him will grow exponentially as you fight more stacked versions: Even in the fight you have presented he took 8% from a single sp1 while perfect blocking 2 hits, now imagine a 7r3 with pierce stat foucs.

I look at older champs kabam makes as 7* and they just hit and attack soooo much better then these new champs do these new champs are just weak lets say it.
