You will find there is much more to the 4th commandment than most talk about. 1. It is the only day God made Holy. 2. It was made for man, not man for the sabbath. 3. It contains God's seal between Himself and mankind. ( A seal always contains 3 points. The Name, the Title and the jurisdiction. Remember: this is a Holy Day of worshipping our Creator. Honoring Him. The very thing satan was coveting, desiring and extremely jealous about. The satanic push to change the sabbath confirms satan trying to appoint his own day of worship. Many Hebrew Israelites have been led into believing that Sunday is the right day of worship, not knowing that the Roman and Gentiles leaders changed the Shabbat to Sunday in order to celebrate the Sun gods. The Church tried to holds that they observe Sunday as Jesus’ resurrection day, but if that was the case, then, their “Jesus” would be risen in less that two days after His crucifixion. @@Yah150 what are you a Doctor of? Obviously it is not theology. It is common knowledge that the ancient Jews considered that any part of a day constituted a whole day when using a phrase like Jesus did reoeatedly "in 3 days I will rise". Jesus died about 3 in the afternoon on Friday, was in the grave all day Saturday, and rose in the morning on Sunday. In the Jewish reckoning, this was "3 days". It is foolish and ignorant in the extreme to employ your argument. This is a matter of change of Covenant and what the Apostles taught and practiced, as the Gospel was committed to them, not to you or I. Paul was far more an expert on this subject than anyone alive today, and he clearly refutes this Sabbath continuation idea, ss well as the practice of all Jewish ceremonial laws and customs. Jesus is the end of the Law for all who believes in Him. It is not helpful to use the Law for any purpose than to reveal sin to the lost and unrefenerate. It is a schoolmaster to lead one to Christ. The Spirit then empowers one by Grace to Agape Love that exceeds the righteousness of the Law. Anyone who studies Galatians and Hebrews could never be deceived into being a Sabbatarian.

A very good debate. I was a Pentecostal Christian for 20+ years and know how difficult it was to come out of tradition, which is the case for a majority of Christians. Only through Bible study and Holy Spirit guidance does one truly understand and keep the Sabbath. Part of the Three Angels message in Revelation is a warning to God’s professed people to come out of Babylon (confusion and false system of worship).

The question is who made sense. God is the God of the universe. His day and night is not confined to the sun light and shadow of the earth which causes our day and night. You go to the moon. Your day and night will no longer be 24 hours. But then wherever you are, you are supposed to observe Sabbath from sunset to sunset. For a start, if you are in US, you go to Norway and try to observe the Sabbath there especially from the month of April till August. Have a great time resting there by observing the Sabbath. By the time you return, your business will no longer remain the same due to non operation for months.

(Servant -> Son) The OT sanctuary -> not part of the New Covenant, replaced by Jesus. (Building -> God's son) The Levitical priesthood -> not part of the New Covenant, replaced by Jesus. (Levi's priesthood -> Melchizedek's priesthood) The Sabbath -> Not part of the New Covenant, replaced by Jesus. (Day of Rest -> Believer's rest).

It just so happens that today Friday 14th, 2023 is the day that I chose to begin keeping The Sabbath. I must add, that there were doubts in me on whether I should keep The Sabbath or not. But something inside of me kept telling me I should, because it’s part of the Ten Commandments. I kept thinking that if I’m breaking one I’m breaking all of them. But just as soon as I was about to begin my Sabbath, I came across this debate which by the way; it’s the best debate I have witnessed. I truly congratulate these two teachers. They were both fantastic presenting their point of view on The Sabbath. I must say that this debate strengthened my belief of The Sabbath, and Pastor Jim put it in a clearer way for me. I honestly think that our LORD & SAVIOR JESUS wants us to keep all The Ten Commandments. Like Pastor Jim said, how can you not keep The Sabbath? By not keeping The Sabbath your abolishing the other commandments which means we can then murder or commit adultery without being convicted? These laws are the ones keeping us closer to GOD. I believe The Ten Commandments were given to all of us. How can I not keep The Sabbath when GOD himself made it a day of rest and also holy? I will most definitely try my best to serve THE LORD with all my heart, with all my soul, and with all my strength. Keep it Holy, for HE is Holy. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Yes, we can have a Holy Scripture (a.k.a. bible study) and all other things that are FOCUSED on God EXCEPT work. Yes, we can have “church” on Sunday with a good old fashioned fish fry after with Uncle Bob and Aunt Tilda. We can even wash our car on Sunday But Sunday is NOT the day that God says we are to REST! It is also written: 1 John 5:3 KJV - "Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." All of the commandments point to loving God and our neighbor. Loving God is to rest when God rests to both remember and honor His creation. It is not grievous (difficult). It is done with joy! 🙏

There's a reason why the fourth commandment says *REMEMBER* the Sabbath. Because people have forgotten that the 7th day of the week is Saturday. Through reading the scriptures, it's also important to bear in mind we don't keep the Sabbath for righteousness, we aren't under the law but grace. However that doesn't mean we don't follow the commandments, but rather our reasons for following the commandments have changed. How many times do the scriptures read "if you love me, follow my commands?" So for me, I keep the Sabbath because I love God and that is the way I show it.

Yes there is a reason but the reason was not given to you Gentile. It was given to Israel. They are the reason it was said to and to who it was said to REMEMBER the Sabbath. No mention of creation or God resting or the blessing the Sabbath received appears in the commandment in the book of Deuteronomy. Seventh Day Adventists and other Sabbath keepers are trying to observe the Sabbath of Israel, but not God's true Sabbath. Here's how. If this is not the case, then Israel's Sabbath is not coinciding with God's true Sabbath. That means Israel's Sabbath which God gave them to observe is not God's true Sabbath. In that case, Seventh Day Adventist's main pillar of faith is destroyed the Seventh Day Adventist's Church will be a false Church. Thus, to sustain the claim of Seventh Day Adventist's Church, they must prove that God's Sabbath day coincides with Israel's Sabbath. I hope you will attempt to prove this. 2. God's day and night were not because of the sunlight and the shadow of the earth. But if God's day 1 is equal to 24 hours duration, then it could very well coincide with Israel's Sabbath which has 24 hours duration. Now, if God had his Day 1, Day 2 ...., then it is fair to imagine that the time duration should be of equal duration because God's time will not be determined by the rotation of the earth in its axis or the revolution of the earth in elliptical orbit around the sun. 3. Now, God is the God of all people. And if we say one day is equal to 24 hours, then day and night is not the issue to determined the time duration. Therefore, there is no need to start the Sabbath at sunset on the sixth day in Israel. However, if sunset and sunrise is used to determine the duration of the Sabbath day, then the people of Norway will have to observe lengthy Sabbath day during April to August. This means the time period of Sabbath for Norwaygians will be more than thousands hours while for Israel, it is only 24 hours. So, how can Norwaygians observe Sabbath like the Israelites? Isn't the God of Israel also the God of Norwaygians? This problem shows that either the God of Israel was a liar and not the true God or Israelites are not keeping God's true Sabbath. Either way, the Seventh Day Adventists are in error because they are neither following God's instruction on Sabbath given through Moses nor do they keep God's true Sabbath. While a Seventh Day Adventist start keeping the Sabbath in Israel, his fellow Adventists in US will be working and his fellowmen in Norway will be wondering how to keep the Sabbath because God did not say look at the watch to keep the Sabbath. There is no way Seventh Day Adventist will be able to keep the Sabbath around the world at the same time when they all worship the same one God. Since Sabbath keepers claim they keep God's Sabbath while they break it by not being able to observe the Sabbath at the same time worldwide, the Seventh Day Adventist Church as a whole has errred and therefore, it cannot be the true Church. 4. He asked her to first take time to meet with his wife to study the Sabbath before making such a huge decision. She told me she was afraid. She went to her boss’s home and as she entered, the woman asked if she was ready to study the Sabbath. My friend noticed two tall stacks of books on the table. She said, yes, if we study only the Word of God. Her teacher looked at the table for a second, and said, well then I guess we have no study. Beware of theologians. Ask God to show you His truth and He will lead you. The Bible was written for people. Even children can understand enough to be saved.

Paul in Romans 7:12 states Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.“ Why? it showed us our wretchedness, then He gives us a solution, Jesus. Jesus alone is the solution. So my question just as Paul asks in Romans 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law. Paul says we died with Christ and resurrected with Him through baptism. We are new creatures and we like Him do not serve the law if sin and death. Therefore we keep the law, not to be saved but because we are saved. How could we go on breaking the law of God if we are no longer under flesh? Keeping the Sabbath does not earn me salvation, I keep it because God asked me to as He asked me not to kill, steal or commit adultery. As a newer Christian who was just baptized Easter 2024. I’ve been hugged by Jesus twice now. He has shown me yes he wants us to keep the sabbath (Saturday) but he does understand that where we are in this world more often than not a father/mother must work to support their families. Jesus healed the blind man on the sabbath and said if you must work on the sabbath make sure it’s for the right reasons. That being said … my children are getting older and I’m going to downsize and get out of the debt I currently carry and my journey will ultimately end up in me observing the sabbath to honor my king because I love him. This is what gets me messed up when someone says, "if we break one command, we are against God's Law". It is impossible for man to follow God's Leviticus Law. No one can follow the Law, that is the sole reason Jesus died on the cross so we would not have to do sacrifices nor follow a Law that we can't follow. If we violate just one little law, we are guilty of violating all of it and deserve Hell. I know Leviticus, says for us to keep the Sabbath forever but then when Christ died and the veil in the Temple was torn from the top to the bottom also told me that no more sacrifice is needed and I don't need a mediator between God and me and that we have a new Covenant. I have been a Christian for over 50 years and I will humble myself to say I studied this myself and I have no answer. I have no choice but to have faith that Jesus grants me Grace to have Salvation and to forgive me of any errors I have made because of my ignorance. I get comfort this way and I believe I will receive Grace and not be condemned either way.

Dear friend I know many talk about Sabbath and love to be Sabbath keepers but I just wanted to ask one Question? I am truly wandering why 100s of Adventist Pastors are leaving the SDA Church and heading home to ROME.... Converting to Catholicism.. Because as far as I know CATHOLICS AND ADVENTIST ARE GREAT ENEMIES... Our Pastors study theology so to become our shepherd but *** the more they know they Begin to Discover the Truth and that truth is only found in the Catholic Church and that is why all our Pastors are heading home to ROME where the Truth is EMBRACED and NATURED.... Jesus Is the end of the law for us trying to keep it for salvation, He kept it for us perfectly, He didn’t eliminated nor ended it, the Law still stands for us to be sanctified and doing the works that we were created to do for. We do the works because we honor Him, obey Him by loving our neighbors as God said to do when He gave the Law. Not for salvation but for love to all His creation!. 📖✝️🙏❤️

😮In all AD times, Sabbath was kept and taught by the Apostles, and by all converted to Jesus belief and His salvation. Always the faithful kept the Sabbath only the non believers, under the laws of Rome kept Sunday and wrongly called Sabbath.

Argument would’ve been over if the the distinction was made between the Law OF Moses and The Law Of God. They are not the same. One was nailed to the cross while the other wasn’t. The Law of Moses were the ceremonial laws! The 10 commandments were not ceremonial. Both need to go back and review so they can reinforce their argument. The Torah was not placed inside the Ark Of The Covenant, yet the 10 commandments were. There are numerous distinctions between the two. Ceremonial Laws were the shadow, not the 10 commandments.

The curse of the law was nailed to the cross, not the blessings. All are guilty of breaking the law, we have the curses against us and by accepting faith in Jesus, those curses are removed, leaving only blessings. The whole reason we even NEED a Savior is because we have broken God's Holy Law. All of the law and the prophets hang off of love the Lord your God and love your neighbor as yourself. The 10 shows the basics of how to do this, and the rest show the application. Stop adding and taking away from God's Law. Walk as Jesus walked.

The old system under the law of Moses was only a shadow, a dim preview of the good things to come, not the good things themselves. The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship.

The whole law, or just the commandments that are easy and convenient? The ten commandments do not stand alone. They are a summary of the 613. There are many commandments that explain and expound on the worship of God. There are many commandments that explain and expound on murder and adultery. There are many that explain the sabbaths. Many that explain stealing. And not just the commands, but the penalties for disobeying. If you are attempting to keep the ten, you must keep them all. All 613 that explain and expound on the ten. Break one commandment and you've broken them all. Scripture is clear on this.
