Finally getting mine this week. Almost changed my mind and got the Rev7 but in Amazon the Rev7 ships in 3 to 5 weeks! Rane One ships in 2 days. Time is money, I am not paying more to wait longer. Wish Rane One would just update their mixer to have hardware effects! Either way I'm excited about getting the Rane One. Starting to get calls about some Spring gigs so I need mine ASAP so I'm fully acclimated before my first gig of the year in 2 weeks. I just cant wait to get my hands on mine! I already feel more confident knowing I dont have to pull up to anymore gigs with my ddj sr2 lol. I love my SR2, it got me started. But it's being demoted to my ceremony/backup controller for weddings. I need something more geared for scratching. Im an 80s baby at the end of the day. I already scratch a lot of songs in on the SR2 but it just doesnt feel right. Transformers are super difficult on jogwheels because you cant feel the platter move when you release, so just feels like you are petting the jogwheel and you cant see where you need to grab the record and pull back, no spin position indicators. Yea so. Really excited. Should have mine by the weekend. And a new streaming camera and lights. 2022 gigs and streaming! Lets get it!!!! Great content as usual LiftOFF! A1

I love my Rane one, I switched around the the knobs as it’s hard to see in a dark room. And also added a skin to see the controls better. I wish them front knobs would recess into the controller as I sometimes brush against the contours. Great step up from a regular controller, next step is 12’s or turntables. Love the videos man, I’ve learned a lot from you.

I have the same issue with my Rane one. I recently saw a comment on KZbin about switching the knobs from the deck/crossfader contiurs with the mic eqs. Now I don’t have the same issue and I don’t really use the mic 2 eqs so it works out great. My crossfader contoir was always turning mid set and was not good lol

So... the slipmat is what controls the scratching? Or is there another disc between the platter and slip mat? Because doing real scratching on vinyl the record is sliding on the slip mat and platter, the platter should barely slow down. If you have to push/pull the entire platter, I'm NOT getting one.
@DJLiftOFF10 ай бұрын
There are slip mats! However, after a while, I found that I enjoyed scratching with other controllers more than the Rane one. Others seem to really like it though.

Every time i look at the Rane One i can’t help but notice how crammed the mixer section is…everything is totally bunched together and the platters are not even centered symmetrical with the mixer section. The layout is just extremely claustrophobic. I had to preorder the Rev 7.

Very valid points man. I honestly wanna check out the Rev 7 myself. I just keep hearing about the platters possibly not being durable. I’ve been a pioneer guy forever tho so I’ll probably get one either way.

@DJLiftOFF3 жыл бұрын
Appreciate it! I would grab 2 powered Electro Voice speakers for tops, and any subwoofer with at least 1,000 watts. I’d grab a gig bar 2 (I have one and I hear people like it better than the new gig bar move) and it’s perfect for weddings. Wireless microphone, anything that’s affordable but with good quality. I’d go with a shure. Then lastly, a Dj facade to cover your Dj table and look professional. Maybe some cheap up lights to put behind the Dj facade to bring it to life as well.

I just want to learn how to scratch my songs in real good not a whole lot of scratching. I’m stuck between this and the Srt 1000 but don’t think I need 4 channels. But ready to upgrade from an SB3 which way do you think I should go?
@DJLiftOFF3 жыл бұрын
I personally love 4 channels because it gives me the ability to be more creative and have more tracks ready on the fly. However, I’ve been DJ’ing on a 2 track mixer for a long period of time now and I’m getting used to it. I’d say go with the 1000SRT because you might quickly outgrow the SB3!

My only complaint about this controller is I feel the platters are a little stiff. I just upgraded to the Rane One and it being my first time using moving platters, it would be a much easier transition if I didn’t have to pull the things back so hard when juggling. Do you think getting new mats would help?
@DJLiftOFF2 жыл бұрын
New slip mats always help!! I actually felt like my Rane one was actually a little too slippery and it took some getting used to. But yea, the right slip mats makes scratching 100% better
@notoriousd.a.d2 жыл бұрын
There’s a switch on the back that allows you to change the speed of the platters too, right?
@MikeFromBoston2 жыл бұрын
@@notoriousd.a.d yeah but after having used a controller for my first 8 months, even the low settings of a motorized platter feels a lot different. On the controller you can scratch with just your fingertips but on a platter you really need your whole hand to get good control. The Rane ones platters are a little small and the center lock prevents you from using your entire hand.

Unless something else comparable comes out in the next few months, this will be my next controller for sure. Then the optimal goal is to eventually get a rane 12 setup. But the rane one looks like a perfect entry into learning motorized platters. Ive heard quite a few DJs use the Rane One and it has sounded great everytime. I have hit a plateau of sorts with scratching on DDJ platters. I need to experience the feel of moving platters, i can just see how much more control you have with Rane platters. So if anyone wants to bless me this x-mas hmu! Lol.
@DJLiftOFF3 жыл бұрын
Ahaha would def be a blessing gift! But I feel you 100% on getting the Rane 12 set up - it’s super dope. I like the Rane one for a easy mobile set up, but still not close to the other rane 12s and a rane 72 or S9/S11

@@DJLiftOFF I got mine now! I love it! Had it for a week! I definitely notice the difference in the sound card. But to have spinning platters at my fingers and such a sturdy controller, and great feeling controls and crossfader. The fx is still a bummer, especially since the fx paddles feel so good. What an oversight. But honestly with the soundcard it actually improves the sound of the fx from serato. But just a little... In just a week my scratching has improved. Trying to learn on jogwheels was awful. Transformers or cut scratches are just awkward as a beginner. Having moving platters has enabled me to truly start practicing scratching. Which I just think is a valuable tool to keep transitions fresh. When I first started I was sure I was gonna be a Pioneer DJ. I didnt know how long it would be before I could really justify buying huge turntables. The Rane One opened that door for me. I was already gonna spend 1300 on a DDJ1000 SRT ...i didnt see the point once the Rane One came out. I honestly dont think I would have even liked the Rev7 as much as I do the Rane One. I like the sturdy feel and the rigid build. Everything feels perfectly tactile. Where its easy to forget theres a laptop attached to it. I have literally forgotten to load the next song and just transitioned into the song I had just played, again lol. My laptop was an after thought. Thats when I knew I made the right purchase for sure lol.

I can say that I tried it but it's not for me. On a positive note, the best thing about the Rane One is the Metal Platter which felt just like a 1200, it brought me way back.
