Its possible to be pro free the nipple and modest. Its about giving people the choice to do what they want and wear what they want on a non sexual part of their body. Nobody is going to force anyone to not cover up. Its your body you get to decide how you want to look. The free nipple movement is about desexualising something to make it possible for women to breastfeed without being sexualised , to let women be at the beach without their breasts being sexualised and to let women who dont feel comfortable in bras go bra less without being sexualised for their nipples showing under a shirt. By making that difference between a female upper body and a male upper body you are clearly saying that breasts are sexual. And that leads to people sexualising women and that part of them. If you look at European countries in spaces were there isnt that difference there also is alot less harrasment.

On the same note, as a hetero male, I AM attracted to breasts. But mostly only in a SEXUAL setting. ''This movement will lead to more sexual attacks against women'', the only way I could agree to this, is if aggressors take advantage of the movement to assault more people. Other than that, I disagree because a movement (which main purpose is to liberate the human body) can't be the cause of sexual assault occurring. It doesn't make sense to blame a movement, when the actual aggressors are the ones responsable for the sexual assault rates going up every year. We are very much aware that anyone can be a victim of sexual assault in today's society, regardless of what they wear or how they present their body in public. for the sex education portion of this video, I feel like it would be more beneficial for everyone's education if licensed sex therapists, gynecologists, urologists, AND relationship therapists were to educate kids on the topic of sex. Most schools and families suck when it comes to sex education which is why a professional third party would (hopefully) properly educate children about parts of the body, consent, safe sex and healthy relationships in general. Honestly if a gynecologist came to my school and just simply explained where and what body parts do it would answer so many questions for so many people regardless of their age.
@joylox3 жыл бұрын
This happened after I was already past this grade, but the private school I went to started bringing in nurses to talk to grades 6-8 (about ages 11-14) about puberty, how the body works, and a bit of sex-ed type stuff. I think they usually would do it at the same time as vaccination day (here you get vaccines in grade 7) so it would be the same group of nurses, and make things a bit easier to talk about, especially for girls who were getting the HPV vaccine. But when I was that age, we just had the school nurse/PE teacher talk about puberty and relationships, which frankly was some bad advice. I didn't know what was normal so I didn't know I had a hormone imbalance, or that I'm asexual, or even what consent was! Thankfully I was able to find doctors and KZbin channels that could explain things better, Sexplanations being one of the better resources I found, but oh, I really wish a professional actually talked about things like periods, bras, shaving vs not, and all that stuff that girls often make fun of each other for, or feel they need to be ashamed of. I've never been bullied by a guy for my choices around bras or shaving, but I have been by so many girls, bullied into doing stuff that physically was uncomfortable all for the sake of "fitting in," which people have now started calling the toxic female gaze, where girls bully other girls for not being girly enough.

Just chiming in to say it depends on the part of the Middle East. Most Middle Eastern countries do not require or expect women to cover their faces. There's empowerment knowing I kept my shirt on NOT because I HAD to but because I CHOSE to. do i think everybody should go topless in the streets? no, because i think there is a level of common decency that needs to be there. not everybody is comfortable with seeing half naked people in public and that should be respected. but i do think that women should be able to go braless without getting judged or harassed and also be able to breastfeed in public, because breasts shouldn’t be sexualized or shamed upon. everybody has nipples. a woman’s nipple shouldn’t be considered any more sexual or sacred than a man’s. (or any part of their body, since pretty much every part of a woman’s body has been sexualized at this point)

I really appreciated hearing Alexa's opinions. I think everything she said made a lot of sense. Anywhere where it's appropriate for men to be shirtless, it should also be appropriate for women. The problem is the patriarchal society we live in that over sexualizes and objectifies women's bodies. Men aren't objectified in the way women are, which is why they can be shirtless. I'm a very small chested female (I'm 20 tho, so not still developing) and ive seen lots of bio men who have bigger boobs than me (usually due to being overweight) but no one bats an eye if they're shirtless. The problem is not the size of the boobs, but whose body it belongs to (i.e. female vs males). The fact that women can't be shirtless anywhere where men can is a problem bc it's just another symptom of the oversexualization and objectification of women.

In summer I really feel the pain of the double standards between men's and women's bodies. I live in a hot and humid country, majority of my male coworkers just wear a formal shirt and nothing underneath and that's fine. But for I have to wear an undershirt because my nipple print might show or my bra might show. I have to suffer in this heat just because of societies views on propriety.

I remember once as a kid I saw two shirtless/braless women and I felt so uncomfortable. Especially because I was with my family. I can’t say that I still don’t feel that same way being 20, but i still believe women should be able to be free in that area. A bit off topic but only recently I started going to sleep braless now that I live with just women. I always tried to avoid showing too much skin because I’m scared how males in my family would react and I don’t want my relationship to change with them. I used to be groomed by my waaaay older cousin from the time I was in the second grade up until the third grade when he moved countries. Regardless how I feel, I want others to do what makes them feel comfortable. I also think it’s unfair men can be shirtless and women can not. My mind is a bit confusing.

@@ifrankenstein7455 there is a difference. That won't happen as no specific gender is allowed to show their genitals and I don't even think it should happen as birthing rates will downfall heavily as people won't get aroused enough if they always saw the thing they need to be aroused. Eg:- you ate a specific food for the majority of your life. Compared to the first time you ate it, it will taste worse, isn't it? What I find funny is, all these issues are problems for the people of urban civilization, while indigenous natives don't have such problem. I wonder why...? Most indigenous natives are/still/were topless. I remember a story from my mom, about my grandfather and his friends dirty talk of boobs when women walking around, one of them is an indigenous person, he don't like it and said "why talk dirty about it, are they not food for the children?". Despite my grandfather's friend is modernized, but he still hold to the old values, he see boobs as "children food", not something to talk dirty about. Yes, indigenous people in my country were topless, can watch the documentary here on You Tube, "Orang Asli in the Malayan Jungle 1947".
