I believe the first 2 dates should be dutch, tips included. The third date should be paid for whomever asked for the date..the tip should be voluntarily paid by the guest. After that, if the parties are still interested in each other, then the dates are the dates if a traditional route is chosen. By this, both parties should be comfortable with each other.

First date ..trip to a Barns and Noble or any book store that has a cafe..This way the two can explore each interests and maybe purchase a book for each other..Local museums, nice and quiet..some walking and reflective conversations and little nosh and tea..Maybe a local Shakespeare in the Park theater. A small bar with a live band, a poetry reading . A thrift/antique store outing. Those are the things I think about that are dates when getting to know a person . These are the places I have been taken out on dates..by friends and interested parties.
