Really been a Massey guy my whole life. And while I still love year 2000 and older Masseys ……..I have to say I like these new Kubotas. We bought a 30hp kubota with a loader brand new this time last year. So far Ive loved it! In the future our 60 hp Massey very well may get updated to a newer kubota. Maybe a m6060. I still love my older masseys…….but when it comes to the new stuff it seems like Kubota is the clear winner

Nice work, it’s alway good to help out when you can and extra tractor time is always a bonus. Plowing here in northern Ontario is usually $40-60 for city driveways, country can be $40-100 per plow depending on travel for the plow.

Yeah that plow you made is great. I have been thinking about doing that as well. I thought about finding a old blade and just make a frame for it to hook up to. I don't have hydraulics on the front i figured i would move it manually like a rear blade.

I have been snow plowing my neighbors for a few years now. We live on a short dead end street and i make a big pile at the end of the road for all the kids to sled on. Sometimes the neighbors give me some money but they know i will not accept it so they get me coffee or nice coffee cups. If someone asks me to plow their snow ill accept money from them. But my close neighbors have never asked me to i just do it for fun so i dont feel right asking them for money.

Nice job, I'd guess that the neighbors are very thankful for your help clearing their drives. I think that blade is awesome, hopefully it won't get too bad on the up and coming weather. I fully understand what your saying about the pay, done that for years and it is tough to charge some and not others. It's been a while since I've bladed drives, can't really remember the exact amount, but in the 70's maybe $10 to $15 on smaller drives, depending on peoples situation, size and distance of travel. Good luck, enjoyed watching, have a great weekend!

Just my opinion, Ben, how are you have contemplated on another tractor with a cab and maybe swapping in the Kubota but not sure what to do. I think you would be best off trading something else in if that was your plan or selling it and getting basically the same tractor as your M 6060 only with a cab. The reason I say that is you don’t really want a cab Tractor in the woods getting beat up. But a cab would be really nice during the summer when you’re baling Hay or in the winter when you’re pushing snow. And two loaders would be nice during hay season. Your M 6060 is the most flexible do it all tractor.
@khtractors8 ай бұрын
You’re not telling me anything I haven’t thought about. That is the best option really. A good used cab tractor and keep the M6060 might be the way to go in a year or two. Buying new is just beyond my price range unless things change. Thank you for giving me options to think on!

I have about a 250 ft. driveway and when I was out of commission, they charged me $ 60 to do mine last year. I am sure it would be more this year.. It may seem high to some people but fuel and equipment are so expensive I couldn't complain one bit.

Do you have a video of the plow build? Does it have shoes on it?
@khtractors8 ай бұрын
I built the blade before doing KZbin. It doesn’t have skid shoes, you just gotta learn the feel. When the blade is angled you have to use your curl function to adjusted the tilt of the blade to follow the contour of the ground. Thanks for watching.

Good Video Ben....as far as the Plown costs, I think a lot of the landscaping companies take on this type of work and waaayyy overcharge just like they do for lawn care....I am not saying they are in the wrong, but they seem to charge an awful lot for this service and most even put snow removal as an option into a contract when they take on a property. If they do that then you get billed a flat rate year round along with the lawn care even if we get snow or no snow.....I know thats how it is here anyway......when it comes to plowing secondary roads...if you check on it VDOT will pay you, if you sign up with them and get your rig inspected and metered beforehand...that happens around Aug-Sept every year and that is how they contract the outside companies to plow..... My suggestion with the driveways is A. Keep doing what you doing and follow the Golden Rule.... B. Start asking in the summer months if they want you to do their driveway and set a fixed price for doing it....but also remember liability with this one..especially once you charge for the service before hand......One water meter, pavement gouge , or unhappy neighbor, and you may never recoup the expenses.... I am done rambling now .....Have a great day
@khtractors8 ай бұрын
I agree with everything you said 100%. Doing the volunteer thing just works out better for me and less stress than feeling I had to go do something. I’ve considered the Vdot thing and getting a truck but again you’re locked into something and I’ve already got two full time jobs. No regrets in what I’ve done. Thanks for watching
