Why don’t the mental health medical physicians test for this? I think it’s because they knew Most of their patient had hormone issues. And didn’t care

Are you talking about the relationship between what they think is generalized depression, and whats actually a hormonal issue like low testosterone. So then medical doctors will be short sighted and not check for other factors which could be culprits, like low testosterone? Is this what you mean?

Giving medicine and keep giving them patient session are more lucrative that’s why

For years my low T went untreated because it was borderline and not considered deficient from a strictly numerical perspective even though I experienced all the textbook symptoms. Finally several doctors later and one put me on trt because, just as you pointed out, we have to examine the numbers in context with symptoms. Insurance took forever to approve the prescription and the pharmacy took days to fill the prescription. How are we this incompetent as a nation when treating low T? I mean literally for years I struggled and several doctors did nothing because they saw my test results and said I'm not deficient according to the numbers.

Did it help you or not you said all of that but didn't say whether or not increasing your testosterone fixed all your problems

My total testosterone is 80. The highest I've ever seen it when tested was 160. I asked for my LH and FSH to be tested and my doctor forced me to sign a form saying that they would not be responsible if insurance didn't cover it because it was "esoteric." My hunch was right and both were far below normal, indicating secondary hypogonadism. He wanted to put me on testosterone and I told him I preferred Clomid to raise testosterone endogenously. He laughed at Clomid and said he had never heard for it being used for that. He also refused to do a pituitary MRI. So he had first never heard of (or at least not testing for) LH and FSH, and then had never heard of Clomid. I gave up and decided to live with it. Why a doctor would prefer to prescribe a controlled, scheduled substance over one that actually encourages the body to do what it should naturally is beyond me.

Sounds like you just need a new doctor. However I've read that most people don't feel much better on clomid, despite a higher testosterone number after treatment.

Thanks doc! My Uncles an endocrinologist specialized in hormone therapy and he’s getting me in next month for bloodwork and hopefully rx trt! He’s noticed I’m not as energetic and depressed lately with no drive (also overweight)

I’m 37 and at a 6 being 2 points below normal range, would I be eligible for IM test?

My idiot doctor wouldn't. I came in with every low t symptom and tested at 350, at 26 y/o Now I'm at 313 and took matters into my own hands, and I start trt today

What's a good testosterone supplement I could buy on amazon?
@Migman-d3m4 ай бұрын
None they’re all a waste of money. There is no such thing as a testosterone booster. If your blood work comes back with low t then you’re gonna have to get on trt.

What would it mean if low total test but low HGBP? Would it still be recommended for TRT?
@kingcreed3488 ай бұрын
Im no dr but i'd say yes. The reference range is just a REFERENCE range, and was created in the 70s and only tested on men above the age of 45-70. They refuse to take into account men of every age. If you're, say, 20-29 and your test is below 600, you can technically be considered someone who may need TRT but only if you show symptoms, and are okay with the tradeoffs that come with it. My SGBH is fine but my test dropped by almost 100 points in less than a year after cleaning up my diet and i'm very avtice. But i do plan to do some SARM cycles so it would work out for me in the long run so i wouldnt have to worry about PCT. Some probably think it's dumb but it's not the only reason, but would benefit me even if i didnt do sarms.

Anything in 200 ng/dl range is like the t levels of a dying 80 something year old man. I’m not even sure how you can function with T levels being that low.

@@wroger6746 Depends on your makup. Mine was 220 in 2015 and the symptoms since have gotten worse. About to see a specialist about it in just a few days. I suspect it will read 150's or, even lower. It has not been fun.

Thought the same thing, didn't want to be the first to post it. As it may trigger the BODY SHAMING ARMY or something. But definitely needs a batch of Testosterone himself, so he can get up and get some gym time. ❤ No disrespect meant by stating some facts, though!
