Short answer: You are thinking about it, you are wanting it. If you have the money, go buy it. Long answer: - If you at the dilemma of either choosing a GBBR or a AEG, then it depends mostly on your purpose of having an airsoft rifle. GBBR serves as a great training tool for real firearms because of its similar mechanism of feeding and firing. It also provides a relatively weak but solid recoil after each shot. A trade-off would be inconsistency of FPS due to its gas based system, which results in poorer performance in accuracy of landing shots on the target comparing to a proper AEG. Even a TM (Tokyo Marui) MWS that literally has the best consistency among all OOTB GBBRs is still hardly a competitor to a well tuned AEG. But it still serves as a great platform and has awesome cost-performance efficiency. - If you dont have a GBBR before but used to own/is owning a AEG. You should probably try a GBBR before buying one. Most people find it fun to use at first but get tired of its performance soon or later. Make sure you are the ones who dont get bored easily and you can add one into your collections. - If you are THE rich guy and not intented to compromise any of these features above. A GBLS DAS Electric Blowback airsoft rifle might be your best choice. I dont think finding someone or something to fix it would be much of a trouble for you. - If you are struggling about which GBBR brand to start, TM MWS or Z system is a good option comparing to VFC, GHK, WE, Viper Tech and etc. due to its out of the box performance. (I sincerely think so base on my own experience but it could be wrong) - If you are in Japan, YES you should have one. Check Yahoo auctions and you know exactly what I meant. (Or not) - If you are a fellow American, you are probably thinking most of the advices above as nonsense. Be a good gentleman, disregard this comment and take your gorgeous ar-15 to the nearest range. She needs your touch more than ever. And I am NOT trying to jeopardize your relationship. - If you are reading this far, WOW man you are a patient one. I hope you find this helpful and have a good one!

I don't think airsoft youtube is dying, I just think it's become stagnant. Most of the airsoft videos being uploaded nowadays are exactly the same as they were in 2016,17,18,19 etc. There are few airsoft creators right now that are trying to elevate or innovate the genre. Going out to a walk on game, recording some clips and uploading a kill montage isn't really what most people want to see now, there's got to be more going on in the video. I think viewers are growing tired of those types of videos, and that at least in part - is why it appears as airsoft youtube is dying. A recent airsoft video I uploaded to my side channel (Mustard Tactical) did quite well - getting 700k views in a couple weeks, but making that video took a lot of work and time. The backend stats on it were pretty healthy (10+ mins average watch time, high CTR, and a good amount of impressions from YT) . I really the space just needs some more innovation.

The challenge. No one ever mentions the challenge of you vs everyone else that has drum mag for a hicapa magazine. If you are using it as a training tool, most likely in a real life situation you will be outnumbered and outgunned. The challenge is to see how many people you can take out before you go out. If you survive the round, the amount of satisfaction is much more deserved than being on equal ground as your opponent

I got the MP5A5 based off your earlier video recommendations. Super fun for a "one and done". I got the Saiga SBS for a fun factor and it is fun, but trying to out peek people at a distance is tough. The places I go allow it. I'm thinking of getting a tricked out SSG-1 to have a high performance indoor gun. I have my eye on an AKX... I want a GBB that can shoot accurately at a distance. It would be a great pairing with my Saiga. I have a sniper that is in the build process.... and I have a Mark 23 for "sneaky" play.... but it requires accurate shots instead of spamming until you're accurate. I fully upgraded it but the accuracy isn't there, so I need to tweak the valve and hop rubber I think. I'm also thinking of getting a tricked out Hi-Capa.... but still on the fence between that and a SSG-1. This hobby is a real money pit.... haha.

Buy one gbb, maintain it, upgrade it, abuse it until it dies. The problem with airsoft in general is the urge to larp as different characters. One day you’re running a mk18 as a SEAL team 6 operator in AOR1 camo, next you wanna larp as an SAS operator in full black kit with a gbb MP5. We want the option and freedom to be someone else every time we play. You have to discipline yourself to stick with one gun, one kit until you’re in a position to expand. The ghk mk18 is a perfect gbb that’ll last 10 years flawlessly

I currently run a few GBBR's The way I've started to collect is that I have one GBBR and one equivalent AEG. GHK Mk12mod1, WE M14, WE MP5, and WE G36 and for AEG's I have a Mk12mod0, Mk48, and, Magpul M4 aeg's. I have found that my personal enjoyment of Airsoft has gone up significantly when I run a GBBR, the way you play is different, and more deliberate. I find that they aren't on a disadvantage these days (Other than mag capacity and weight) than an AEG. Living in Canada, I do realize that GBBR's are only really good for spring/summer/early fall. and then I'd use the AEGs or Snipers. I definitely think that it's nice to have variety to keep things from going stale. Still looking to the TM NGRS MP5 to pair with my Apache

i was an aegs player (cyma aks, kwa qrf mod 1, g&g gr25, AK Storm). been taught to upgrade to titan gate, motor and even hpa tapped it to be competitive.) But in 3 years playing, it becomes boring to spray quick single tap in every corner (eventhough get so many hit) because it is not fun for some newer players and feel stagnant. So i changed to GBBR, Been running KA (TWS) gbbr, the parts are cheap as it is using WA gbb system, can fit ghk nozzle for ar (if u trim or dremmel some part). Been using 1 year the tws9mm and it felts good. especially, i use tm g17 (p80) so my primary and secondary will share same mags (Glock magsss). I have been wanting to play with other system as well but not marui probably (too toyish and doesnt have a hard kick) Planning to buy VFC or GHK for AK/AR. If you realize that airsoft is a game to have fun by experiencing simulated real life situation then go GBBR (Your senses will be more sharp when you know u got 20-30 bbs only in a battle and you will keep reminding urself how should u peek the guy that hit you on next battle.)

I'd say of you're going to get a GBBR, get one for yourself first and the channel second. I dont regret getting my MWS, even though I have a great TM416D NGRS AEG. No doubt with the higher ammo capacity my aeg is easier to use. But, the experience of using a GBBR is awesome, and its made me a better airsoft player overall as I now consider my positioning in the match so much more than I ever used to. And only pull the trigger if im confident in the shot, no more aeg ammo spam fests! GBBR is challenging, expensive and more work than an AEG for sure, but there is something so satisfying about a GBBR. All that being said, im in the UK, and have access to higher pressure gas and heavy ammo so it's not a problem for me. It sounds like the Japanese airsoft norms, rules and restrictions make it a very difficult prospect on owning and using a GBBR in comparison to my experience.

Three is my max as a gas only user. One to keep, one to have for a laugh/tinker and an optional sidearm. Ultimately comes down to how much enjoyment/happiness you think you will get out of the platform for the financial investment. I work quite a bit so get to sites max 1/2 times every two months if Im lucky. If I was paying the prices you mentioned I would be double thinking it as GBBRs dont seem that popular in the UK by comparison to AEG/HPA which dominates the outdoor woodland/indoor speedsoft builds meaning many people are often selling Gas guns for very cheap after feeling “out gunned” - my MWS was £150 for example. The next one is a mp5 with five magazines for just under £250 accounting for petrol to pick it up. Ultimately need to figure out how the money you have makes you happy, spending it on actually getting to game sites or sitting on the shelf until you can recover financially after buying magazines (which are never cheap and can fail). That’s why most people on KZbin now a days for airsoft channels are quitting. I get excited when I meet someone especially local that wants to get into it, I would support them but most end up quitting. As far as GBBR, I fell in love with airsoft when I first seen a GBBR more than 10 years ago. It is hella pricey and definitely not as reliable as an AEG. The mags are expensive and if you haven’t broken a feed lip yet, then your not having fun lol I would probably hold back if it’s only a want and not a need, there’s so much to do for GBBR to make it viable and worth it. Tbh gas doesn't make sense for Japan man. They make some of the best gas guns BUT as you said you can't always use them like we can overseas. Also most people set up their gbbr's to hop 'heavy' BB's to get more range and accuracy which I don't think you can do in Japan because of BB weight restrictions on most sites (correct me if I'm wrong here I'm not sure if you guys do or don't have this), to counter the disadvantages of gbbr's. So I'd say don't do it or if you do understand that you won't be using it all the time and that you'll have to play around the disadvantages so this means probably more tactics content and not so much hits scored content.

I mean... not everything has to be go big or go home. I don't know how the market is where you are, but more affordable platforms like the WE g36c or a TM MP7 can be quite affordable compared to other models. I kind of feel that airsoft on youtube definitely isn't sustainable. A gameplay video can only sometimes cover entry fees and bbs and all that, realistically. Larger channels like Valiant airsoft turn a gameday into a bunch of shorts and several very marketable full length videos focused more on the memes than the airsoft, and I'm still not sure his videos pay that well without major sponsorships. Which is no hate to him at all, love the guy. I just mean, from a rentability perspective, I really wouldn't get one. With how much gas mags cost (and obvs not knowing your channel's monetization), I doubt it can pay itself off. But yeah, GBBRs are super cool. I love mine. I am so freaking in love. The problem is, that's really the only argument for them. The heart wants what the heart wants, and it is a strong argument, but... I wouldn't. Wanting to rush before prices increase just clouds the more objective view of the matter, and that is that with the TM NGRS you already have, a gas gun doesn't offer that much new experience. If it's not a good time for you to buy, it doesn't matter whether they're selling it at a good cost. Can't spend money you don't have. Either way, your money, your choice. Just consider that if you buy one, you'll probably want to kit it out and maybe mod it a little and a spray paint here, a new grip there, and that extra mag doesn't hurt, may as well rip the band-aid off in one go and really overspend and just get everything now, save the hassle- and suddenly your budget is blown twice over. If you can afford that, or can really mitigate it by for example actually swapping furniture over, then hey, they really are fun. You know yourself better than any of us do. I'd still personally err on the side of caution and advise against it. You know, do as I say, not as I do.

Seriously, it's not for novices, but easier to maintain than an AEG. For cold weather needs some preparation work, especially VFC.

There is no reason to buy a aeg. People end up buying like 6 aegs when they could just have 1 gbbr for less then the shed full of aegs.
@blob-wz8tp4 ай бұрын
There's generally no reason or upside to NOT having a gbb.. UNLESS, you don't have access to green gas or black gas (like in Japan). Gbbs are quite popular actually (outside of Japan) and in America at least gbbs are cheaper on initial purchase to the aeg equivalent for some reason. Example, the Krytac Kriss Vector AEG is $450 in America and $399 for the gbb. So for me I'd never get anything other than a gbb. When I move to Japan I'll just be fcked I guess.

I mean they’re viable during most of the year and indoor all year round, they’re just expensive to run/maintain

@@MaydaysanAirsoft Yeah it's just duster is already to start out with less performing than green gas. And leverage the fact you can't use red or black gas in winter season and I'm not sure I'd find it worth it. That being said you could get hand warmers and wrap them around your mags in winter to offset the cold.

Just use an AEG and edit in GBB sounds to confuse the audience which would get more views and then keep it a secret

Should you buy one?yes. Airsoft is all about fun isn't it? And a Gbb is more fun to use than an Aeg, it also is more fun and interesting to watch, if you learn a bit of tech you can make videos about that too. I ditched all aegs once I tried a gbbr, but I understand in japan it's harder to use it all year round, so instead of looking for a replacement of your "main" replica, if I was you I'd get something different, maybe a Saiga 12k 💪🏻 ARs are boring 😜
