Hey y’all. I just picked this up and I love it! The rack ears took a second but got them. First I tightened them in as usual. From there I loosened them, slightly leaned it out and slid the nut down the track with a screwdriver. Getting the washer in between was difficult but it worked.

the bottom tra has more than enough room for a big thick keyboard you just have to lower the screws .also you put the rack screws they gave you with the nuts , they slide down from the top of the rack ears you will need to remove your v rack ears and put some screws in there hope this helps.

Hey, I have had this desk for years and I think I have the same issue as you in regards to screwing in rack units. When I was assembling the desk, I hardly had any rack gear, so I just left them in place as you have in the video. However, I recently bought some more gear and now want to screw them in place, so they don't move when I'm attaching or moving jacks or MIDI cables in the back. The problem I'm having is that because there is no access to the rack rails from the back, I'm at a loss as to how to actually tighten the bolts once you've added them to the front of the rack rail. I've asked Gear4music where I bought the item, and they recommended me some standard rack mount screws that didn't work (I did explain the exact problem) and then linked me to the manual, which also doesn't explain how. I've searched the internet and can't find any solution, so will keep an eye out here if you do find one! It seems such an obvious design flaw that, like you, I can only imagine it must be me missing something obvious! Anyway, thanks for the video, you're the only other person I've found that has actually brought this up - hopefully we've both missed something!
@cement012 жыл бұрын
I'll also say that I've seen other comments mention already that you slide the bolts in the rails from the top, but surely this means you can only mount rack equipment as you're assembling the desk, or by taking the desk apart again, and this seems crazy - I have a feeling that is the true answer though!

Thanks for posting the video of the desk. Is it possible to use monitor mount on this desk? Is the platform where the monitor is on spacious enough? The height is half that of the output platform desks. Also, does the tray go all the way in now after changing its position?

I haven’t change the bottom position, but it does go in all the way. The speakers are right at the height. I need them to be, but I moved them off the desk because I needed more space to get better low end.

Looks like laminated particle board. Wouldn’t call it “solid wood”. They basically ripped off Output’s “Platform” model desk and produced it cheaper. If it fits the bill then hey, it’s an option! Did you try lowering the keyboard slides? Looks like it has multiple pre drilled hole levels.

When attaching the slide rail to the legs, did it allow you to set alternate height for the sliding tray, seeing how if it was just a little bit lower it would allow your keyboard to fit.

I just ordered one, with the same finish. I really wanted the Output, but I think this one will do. I also ordered a Rockville mixer stand, Standtastic 103KSB, and 2 Ultimate Support MDS-X. I really didn't want to spend a lot of money on desks, stands, etc, but I realized that it's absolutely necessary for me. I don't have OCD, but I currently have 4 smaller desk, and a basic synth stand, and it's super uninspiring. It always feels cluttered, and there's almost zero continuity. It destroys my creativity. It would have been nice to invest in some gear that makes sound instead, but I feel that being comfortable, is often times more important than having multiple premium synths. I do feel a little uncomfortable due to buying a bunch of studio gear recently, because it adds up way too fast... haha... to be honest, it's not really funny. I just got the calculator out, and the number I got was a little tough on my gut. I also got some boutique pedals and a Syntakt and Iridium Keys on top of the furniture, so it was a decent chunk. The plus side is, everything that I got was thought about for a while. I feel that I got most of my studio furniture taken care of at least. I'm still looking for a better chair, but it's not super important.

A nice desk makes all the difference. I know what you mean about spending money on gear. When I look at how much money I’ve spent on gear it’s insane! I will say though I have a great space and I’m happy with it and it’s a comfortable working environment. It’s important to want to be in your space. Thanks for the message and thanks for watching.

It came wit screws, maybe I misplaced the nuts, but it didn't quite add when I was building.
@cement012 жыл бұрын
Hey, Haukur. I looked up m6 screws and nuts, and if you mean cage nuts, you still have to place them from behind and then add the m6 screws from the front. I have this desk, and the issue with the rails is that there is no access from the back, only the front, so like Home Studio Rescue I have no idea how to affix the screws and tighten them. The only thing I can think of is there being some kind of screw you can attach using only the front?
@haukurhannes86262 жыл бұрын
If it's like the rails I had you have to remove them from the desk and drop the nuts down the tubing and reattach to the table 😊

@@haukurhannes8626 Ah, thank you. Yeah, that's what I was afraid of to be honest! I was hoping there was a way without having to remove them as I believe that means I will have to take the top shelving off to do so? Or can I remove them without taking off the top shelf? Thanks for your reply!

@@cement01 I don't have this desk so I don't know, maybe?
