Again, thank you for the review. A spectacular bike!!! I hope specialized reads this because here are a few minor things I would love to see on their new models 1. Make the walk assist a push forward button, not a push up button. My thumb was not happy pushing up. 2. When changing modes, have the beeps indicate what mode you are in. 1 beep for eco, 2 beeps for trail and 3 beeps for turbo. 3. I bought a 3rd party motor cover and it got really used over rocks and such. Would be nice to have that included to protect that battery/motor area, or sold as an option. 4. Put the cheapest wheels on the base Levo, but how about Swiss DT 1901 and 1501 wheelsets as you go up the line? 5. 10/11t to 50t rear gearing 6. Put a gasket seal under the TPU to prevent water ingress. 7. Make the TPU unit completely waterproof

Hey Scott - Great store. You guys should be telling prospective buyers of the high failure rate on the Brose 2.1 motors and when and if the problems have been solved. EVERYBODY I know with a 2019 and 2020 Levo, about 8 people, have had at least one motor failure. While Specialized has been replacing the motors under warranty, customers should be told whether or not their model has received the updated motor. Customers should know whether or not they bought a bike with a motor that will fail.

Great review!!! Thank you. I bought the base Levo and upgraded everything. However, a few days ago I bought the comp in black for my daughter and only upgraded the drive train to 12 speed SRAM Eagle X01. I live in Canada so only got in a few rides before the snow but just got back from a week of riding in Phoenix and the bike was amazing!!! The only thing I really wanted was a lower gear for steep technical climbs. Unlike a normal bike, if you drop your cadence too much you lose power so lower gearing allows me to keep up my cadence for the gnarly technical climbs. Whether others will want this, of course, will all depend on the person and where they ride. I might also drop the front chain ring from 32 to 30 if I want even a lower gearing. All in all these Specialized bikes are a game changer...better then I could have imagined!!!

Hey guys, battery range and power uphill is a big deal for me. I have a health condition where I can't spend too much time with HR over 100bpm (resting is around 60). I can pump HR to over 150 but it has to be for a super short period. How do you think I'd go on this bike? Interested in doing mostly 30 min to 1 hr rides with medium climbs so hoping the battery and power is sufficient for this.

@@JB-ch9ws Hi Jaimie, I have exercise-induced asthma, and I have the same issue re: needing to carefully manage my heart-rate. I had been out of mountain-biking for many years, as my condition worsened, and then I discovered the Levo. I got the 2020 Levo in the fall, and it changed everything, because now I can perfectly manage my heart-rate so that my asthma doesn't kick in. The app is brilliant. You can dial in your pedal-assist levels that you control on the bike. So for me, I have eco-mode set to 20% assistance, then trail mode at 50%, and then turbo at 100%. You may find that you want to have a higher % assistance for eco mode depending on your condition and unique needs. Around here, there are very challenging trails, with loads of hills. Those hills would destroy me before (not leg strength, just the asthma kicking in from the high-intensity burst exercise), and I would be near passing out. Now I can manage them brilliantly. I can do almost all of them in trail mode, with the rare hill needing turbo. The rest of the trails are more cross-country in nature, and I get a very full workout (my apple watch doesn't lie!!) on them, while keeping my heart-rate where I can function. Buying this bike has been the most brilliant investment, because it's brought back so much joy in this sport, and really re-opened closed doors. As for ride-time, I got the bike reviewed in this video- Levo Comp (aluminum), with the 700 watt battery. I can do two laps of a mixed cross-country lake loop (40kms) and have 30% of my battery left over, or about 2.5 hours of very hilly, technical riding, really pushing myself and the bike, and have about 30% left over. If you want to do longer rides, you can just tell the app how many hours or miles you need, and it will mete out the assistance so that you will not run out of battery. 4 hours has been my longest ride, and (without even using the app), I still had battery left. Hope this perspective helps- cheers!

Yeah maybe in South Carolina where the weathers nice and the conditions are perfect. Not so much in northern England where it rains most of the time and there are more names for the different types of mud than an Inuit has types of snow. 18 months and on my third motor. Don’t think e-bikes are quite ready for real world north England conditions.

HUGE levo believer: The Brose S Mag when trail tuned feels smoother than any other manufacturer (my opinion, but generally correct :)). I love that I can change my support on the fly. The best aspect for me is the minimalist cockpit as you mentioned. I always find I am looking down at my screen but with no screen I am just out there biking. Love it!

Beautiful review. Got the Levo SL ($6,500) after going back and forth between the two. Using only the Level 1 power about 90-95% of the time; so, the battery lasts very well. Like Jeff Brown, I have done more riding in the past 10 days than I had in the last year...LOL And then ordered a base Levo for my wife which should arrive at my LBS next week. So, we should be back on the Flume Trail at nearby Lake Tahoe very soon. Yes. We have been "Levo'd" at our house.

Just made a demo ride on this bike. It does feel great for the most part, but there are some things not mentioned, you will definitely feel the weight on the bike in twisty trails, balancing it takes some extra effort. Suspension is good but not plush, medium to large drops offs will feel hard on the landing. Riding a few brands, Specialized bikes have a very particular feel to them. If you like that and want it for trail riding go for it. I'm going for the kenevo at the same price.
@FlyRidesUSA
@FlyRidesUSA 5 жыл бұрын
Definitely there will always be extra weight on the eBikes. Also, I would agree that this is definitely not a bike for big drop offs. Kenevo is much more appropriate for that!

Kayakkr not to “well, actually” you but the levo comp (aluminum) was $5949 with a 500wh. There was a 2019 Levo Comp Carbon but it was $6949. I was referring to the aluminum since this bike is the updated version of that.

Hi all I'm from new zealand and cycleways gave me a comp to try for a wk.(I'm new to this ebike thing but ridden a couple before)well all i can say is wowwww i think i was spoiled on it just so loved it have tried one other brand levo is out in front. the price tag hurts though at $9.7k NZ dollars. wot i would like to see on it is a digital display like bosch batt in % terms and an estimated kms left in batt. love the idea of mission control app for general stuff speed and distance but love that you can fine tune your power to suit you. yes if i could afford one i would get a comp at the drop of a hat

Thanks so much! The Turbo Levo Comp is probably my favorite bike of the lineup in terms of riding performance and overall value. The Carbon of course will have better components and a lighter frame, but for the style of riding I do the aluminum is plenty light. There is however definitely a weight difference and if you have the the extra $1000, it is probably worth the upgrade for the better components alone. Good luck!

But trying to get in touch with Specialized and getting an answer why this hapens time and again is like geting blood out of a stone. @Trevor Case I use Blevo with my 2019 Turbo Levo. I cannot bypass the assistance limit with Blevo alone. Bypassing the assistance limit is possible with a mechanical device that causes the Levo's speed sensor to "lie" to the motor controller. The speed sensor reports a lower speed than the bike's actual speed. If you outfit your Levo with one of these mechanical devices, you can configure Blevo's speed and distance measurements to be accurate. If you don't do this configuration step, Blevo will say that your speed and your distance are less than they actually are. BTW, there is no "speed limiter". The only thing that happens above the limit is that the motor consumes some of your pedalling power rather than adding to it. You really feel it on the flat, but it's easy to exceed the limit when riding down a hill.

Have about 100 miles on my Turbo Levo Comp now and love the bike. As a package it just works really well. The bike feels lighter than it is except in the air where I can really feel the weight. My non e-bike is a 12 yr-old Santa Cruz Blur LT which was solid in the day but feels so dated now. My only issue with the Levo is that when I'm riding with others on non e-bikes I generally take my SC. I ride 90%+ of the time in Eco set to 5-10% assist to get a good workout and to prevent from running up on people on single track climbs but even at 5-10% it's faster. When riding with other e-bikers we get the same workout but just go faster and cover so much more ground. The Levo comp is like two bikes on one which is good in my book.

I get e bikes are relatively heavy.. but i noticed that your video's generally don''t touch this topic. From cars, motorcycles and any moving vehicle including people (Watts/kg)... power to weight is the key measurement and tells a lot about a bike's performance... So please start talking about power/weight.... as the tech advances over the next few years i think you'll start seeing more better power to weight...

How could u know that the motor is so powerfull if u riding only downhill. Show a video from a bikepark that you go uphill from bottom to the top.

Here's what I would recommend: ride it. You're never going to really get a sense of the power behind this bike even if we were riding it uphill. You've got to ride 'em!

How does this bike compare to the Bulls E-Stream EVO AM 4 27.5+ Thanks
@FlyRidesUSA
@FlyRidesUSA 5 жыл бұрын
Hey George! That would definitely be a long answer, but my general thoughts are that if you are a longtime eMTB rider, I'd go with the specialized and if you are newer to the sport the Bulls is likely the better option. The Specialized ride is a bit more nuanced since it has smaller tires that are also 29" and other small things (i.e. the one click SRAM shifter that requires some thinking before you start climbing). The BULLS offers a bit more versatility in terms of ease of use. Quick release on the seatpost, 2.8" tires that can easily go tubeless (although, specialized Levos can too), multiple gear shifting with one swift movement, and things like the Monkey Link accessories if you think you might also commute on it. Hope this was helpful. Really, I don't think you'd be going wrong with either bike.

The factory support from Specialized is far better, I could not get support from Bulls. The Levo is clearly superior.

how can you pretend it's good value for money ? ALL other e-bikes are cheaper with the same equipment, what sets this bike appart is the frame, the motor, NOT the equipment, the YT decoy, has the AXS dropper, electronic shifting, the best Fox 36 kashima fork, for the same price, and it's a full carbon frame

With buying a e bike I,would lean towards a big brand becuase if it blows up they will have a better tech support. It will be easier ti deal with a bike shop. But buying a regular bike yes yt is the eay to go. Just about everyone can work,on there bikes. Only need yt dir a replacemebt frame. And hardware for pivots and derailleur hanger.

@Trevor Case Agreed. The YT looks great on paper, but I don't want to be without my bike for weeks when I need service. Also, how much does it cost to ship and insure a bike to/from Germany from Canada? I don't even want to think about it. I have a local Specialized shop that has been awesome to deal with too.

Having owned a specialised turbo Levo I would say no. They are quite unreliable.and over priced for what you get. Mine spent more time in the shop than on the trails.now own a haibike and so far trouble free.cost me less than Levo and is better equipped.

Mountain bikes were over priced when they first came out, but once the competition starts to build up it will fall
@FlyRidesUSA
@FlyRidesUSA 5 жыл бұрын
@@martinlewis1015 I do think competition will drive prices down eventually. But our perspective is that, as with anything, you kind of get what you pay for. Yes, there are companies that offer products that will cost less. But there's usually a reason. For instance, on a YT bike you can pay less, but you're also giving up dealer support and their after sales customer service is notoriously pretty bad.
