I used to only use Coach purses & wallets but about 10 years ago I found an rfid blocking purse at a thrift store for $10. It was a plain black purse with no fashion style at all. I loved it. I looked up the brand and it's Pacsafe. I now own about 10 pacsafe bags ranging from crossbody to totes & 6 wallets. Even when I put my car keys inside the bag & zip it closed, I can't open my car with just touching the button on my cars handle. I love Pacsafe bags.

I just bought a rfid sleeve for my cards. Saves me money and I can still use my fave leather wallet. Though I am thinking of upgrading my wallet to the ridge wallet. Great video btw. 👌🏻

Can I use this for the bus if I put my bus pass in the rfid wallet?

You would have to test that. We don't have a lot of public transportation down here.

In my experience if the RFID blocking feature actually works, then no it would not work through the wallet. If it DOES work through the wallet, RETURN the wallet! If the metro reader can read through the wallet, so can a skimmer. However, some wallets have holders on the outside for metro cards and such, but be aware that sometimes stacking multiple cards on top of each other and passing them over a reader can corrupt the card data so it doesn't work any more. Personally, I have one pocket on my jacket that I keep my metro card in and all the others go in my front pocket (back pockets are easy to pickpocket).

Currently in 2023 I would say the chances of someone wirelessly skimming your card info has greatly increased as various tools have emerged. I for one recommend RFID blocking of some sort as I live in a major city where having to be in close proximity to people occurs often.

Timur Yunusov demonstrated on Quentyn Taylor's channel that RFID skimmers can steal your credit card info using a mobile phone. Anybody who says you don't need to block RFID is either clueless or they're skimmers themselves.

Better be safe than sorry, just purchased one for $5, life is too short to think too much about this kinda stuff, if it’s affordable and could prevent problems, headache, heartache, loss, then it’s worth it.

Not sure why you classify high powered RFID readers and the attack as a tin foil situation. There are a few security people that have demonstrated scanners that work reliably at around 1 foot. Disregarding that, a smartphone, an app from the store and some nimble fingers will get the same job done.

He said the chances of someone coming close enough to you and bump into you is very small. So it shouldn't be an issue. Has he never been on a subway train? Or a bus full of people standing shoulder to shoulder? Shuffling along in the line waiting to enter something like a sports stadium? Or just a very busy street with large groups of people passing very closely in all directions. Or ........ ?

Its better to buy now, since there isn't much demand now as of yet (which influences cost).

why all this worries?; just keep ur wallet at home and use an NFC enabled mobile phone. So whenever u need to tap and pay, just turn on NFC and pay from the eWallet. U dont hv to carry ur purse or even the card! U can carry an extra power bank if u fear the mobile battery might drain off soon.
