I was in the same boat as you. I picked up a v3x 29 last year and love it. I want to add a 33 for more if a TAC and target setup, and I'm just going to keep my eye out for a good deal on a used V3x 33.

Much appreciate your unbiased thoughts brother. Not common. Most channels seem like they are advertising for Mathews. Can’t justify $700 for stabilizers. I shot the Phase 4, decked out at my club on Thursday. Can’t say I noticed any real difference. Looks cool but I’ll stick with my Conquest stabilizers on my V3X 33.

Thanks for keeping it real! Its way to obvious when certain people get two boxes at their door and says this is the next best things since the last bow minus the fact they didn't pay for either! In the real world every thing you said makes absolute sense and is realistic for the vast majority of people!! Besides that V3X is a shooter!

Nice. I got an excellent deal on a slightly blemished V3X. I'm happy with my V3X 29" just fine too but bought the 33" Phase 4. I'm shooting both and letting them duke it out until next September. Right now it's neck and neck. The loser will be my backup bow on my hunting trips. BTW I'm coming over from Hoyt to these new Matthews. Nothing against Hoyt. Love their grips better and they are shooters too but the technology is pretty outstanding on these bows.

Mathew’s has made zombie bows since the halon & Triax. Dead in hand since 2016 lol. Can’t get more dead. Dead is a final description’. So everyone that said Mathews is more dead every new flagship is either a moron or a liar towards the viewers. Or both pathologically, Not you Jeff your response to this bow is genuine. Firstly- Mathews created a solution to a problem that didn’t exist with the new Bridgelock for stabilizer tech. Secondly - can’t get past the rubber weatherstrip look of the limbs.

This is not what you’re supposed say! If Mathews says jump then you don’t question it 😂 Honestly, your channel appeals more because you aren’t “paid” by a brand to push why it’s the latest and greatest thing you’ll ever shoot. Looking forward to new content! Btw.. I ditched my wise choice and HBC and went full UV with the thumb button and hinge 2, NO RAGRETS!

I could not agree more with your assessment of these two bows. I have V3X 33 and my setup is almost identical to yours,, complete w/HHA TetraMax. The V3X 33 is an exceptional piece of equipment. I will not be changing to the Phase 4. As a matter of fact I abandoned the Bridgelock system in favor of the traditional side mount for the sight. The Bridgelock system chews up too much windage and you have to compensate by adding an offset bracket, which defeats the purpose.

Incremental changes will be differently perceived by everyone. I did get a phase 4. I keep all my bows and have each years Mathews for quite some time. If you are honest with yourself you can see or feel the differences each year and to me it’s always worth it to try out the newest tech from the archery leader.

@@cjqphx8166 I shot the new Hoyt side by side with 33” Phase 4 and IMHO (and mind you the Phase 4 had no stabilizers on it) the draw was just slightly better on the Hoyt but it also has forward jump on the shot
@cjqphx81662 жыл бұрын
@@josephfolsom2030 I wanted to shoot both but the phase 4 sold out at my local shop in AZ. I tried the VTM 31 and the RX 7 29. The VTM just felt so good in my hand with a super buttery draw. I felt nothing on my shots. I was all in after that, that’s the new hunting bow for a few seasons.
@jeffcordero_2 жыл бұрын
I do feel the changes but for me it wasn’t enough to warrant me purchasing it. It’s a great bow.
@Waapitii2 жыл бұрын
Finally someone with sense, the loud minority whines that next years bow should make last years look like a stick with a string. Ordered my phase 4, but been shooting the same bow for almost 10 years now. And tbh, it was just cause I wanted a new bow, the other one will still be a good backup. Bows date back to the 16th century yet people keep expecting them to reinvent the wheel more every year. You don’t see gun guys up on arms when new products release.
@5MinuteMaj0r Жыл бұрын
I also shoot a V3X 33. I’ll buy a Phase 4 when the front stabs get a 10 degree drop bridgelock angle and longer than 12” available on the regular…..that might mean a Phase 4X or whatever they call the next one.
@percussionalobsecration6178 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your take on this. What would be your thoughts on purchasing either the V3X of Phase 4 as someone coming from the Z7? To me, both bow seam the same performance wise, just the added dampening of the phase 4. I am not sure that I am completely sold on all the expensive mathews stabilizers and bridge lock items. They may be a nice feature, but I personally like to reserve the option to use various aftermarket items that might not be specific in collaboration with the manufacturer, as I will probably use my current QAD rest, and Armortech sight until I can upgrade them.
@jeffcordero_ Жыл бұрын
If price was a concern, I'd get a V3X on a discount. If price isn't a concern, get the Phase 4. Performance wise, it's the same bow.
@thomasvanderhoff7682 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you
@jwild53602 жыл бұрын
The phase 4 does have a cutout under the grip for a new feature thats being added next year. I’m guessing adjustable grip. And it will not be compatible with the v3x. So if you want that new unknown feature in the grip that’s coming soon then u better upgrade.
@Gibsonlife5732 жыл бұрын
I really believe if people would just try different bows they would understand that there is a better draw cycle out there then pull in until you get to a hump and then dropping into that Valley like that I love Matthews I love what they do but that draw cycle is not the best they may be super dead in the hand I got a vxr 31.5 then sits in the closet right now I went from it to the PSE evl 34 then I went from that to now the BowTech ss34 I'm telling you right now hands down the BowTech has the best draw cycle and not just that but I can play with the draw stops and get higher let off lower whatever I want to do like I can change the feeling of the bow it's just man it's better to have more adjustment and make the bow fit you then just to have a set draw honestly in we all know Matthew's draws a half inch long well well 3/8 to 1/2 I mean they're Target bows are amazing I just can't get past that draw cycle on their hunting boat come back drop over the the hump boom into the valley back wall and then the post shakes in your front hand maybe it's just me I just think there's there's a lot of good boats these days I shot the v3x33 last year for a little bit I just like a different draw cycle

Love my V3X 33 at 70# 30.5 draw. I have the black gold dove tail that goes in the riser., I can't justify the price for the Mathews brand bridge lock stuff., I have a $49 carbon fiber stabilizer. QAD and regret buying the QAD.

I went with the phase 4 because there was literally no price difference. This was just before Christmas though. I did shoot both and the phase 4 felt a little more comfortable for me to shoot. Just go to a pro shop and shoot all the flagship bows, it was pretty eye opening for me. Shot the matthews, hoyt, pse, bow tech, and elite. Came down to the hoyt ventum pro and phase 4. Same draw weight but I felt like I could draw the matthews much easier and with less movement.
