I resonated with what the lady said about raising prices and expecting better. I am a seamstress, with a certificate I studied for and everything. I sew several hours a week. I don’t want my business to grow too much, because I’m looking into a career that makes more per hour and doesn’t make my shoulders tight. But it is working for now while I study. Anyhow, I raised my prices in January. I had been charging $20/hour (in a market where minimum wage is just upwards of $14/hr). I went to $24/hr and raised all my standard prices (like hemming jeans, replacing zippers, etc) to match. I have only had one customer ask for a discount (which I gave her in exchange for a good review on Google), and a couple more have complained about the prices, but I haven’t had any unhappy customers. I deliver what I promise, and I am getting almost as many word of mouth referrals as I get google search calls.

I am on track to retirement age according to DR. I’ve poured 16k in repairs to my 2008 Toyota (purchased for cash in 2009) in the past 3 years, so I could get done divorcing my freeloader ex. I just drove a brand new Toyota EV off the lot this week, and my monthly lease is zero down and about what I spend on gas every month. I’ll save on oil changes and repairs, and the electric is included for the first year. Patience is a virtue people. He is right, if you don’t have at least 1 mil net worth, you can’t afford a new car. This is my first ever. This woman makes less in a year than I make in a month, and she wants to empty her retirement account (likely funded by her low wage husband). These are the people who reach retirement age and throw their hands up and complain they can’t afford to live. Hope she is spry enough to clean houses in her 80s.

Sure... She could. But she shouldn't. You should never borrow out of your retirement. That's a very dangerous and sneaky slippery slope.
