I don't think you can do a pressure test for RVs with a slide-out.

Thanks for the video. In cold climates (Canada etc), a leaf blower with lightweight extension is great for blowing dry snow off top of RV. Drain gutter pipes work well, just beware of sharp edges. Easy to make the bends needed to reach top of RV. Stay gold.

I would talk to the locals and see how they do it. I do not have enough experience in that area of the country to be an expert. it depends on what part of the country you're standin' in... as to just how dumb you are.- smokey and the bandit

Ive never had an issue tarping my camper. Only time you may not want to is if the camper is brand new so you dont have to deal with the "mold" problem. But for a camper roof thats used and already has green algae/mold on top, it wont matter. Just go up there in the spring and clean the roof. It gets it all off for me.

What do you do guys as an RV dealership during winter? I went to my RV dealership and they don't cover their hundreds of RVs parked in their lot.

Leave them sit on the lot we do not cover them. Thats why I am not stressing a cover in the video

I have 2 rigs one I bought from you guys (You were great Jr!) the other from somewhere else (Ugh). Anyway, I gave both a good wash and condition treatment last month and the rain is still beading on them. I plan to do them in the spring also. Not much snow where I am in Virginia so I'm going without a cover and will nose dive them if I need to. It's not that hard to wash and condition the roof so hope that will keep it in good shape.

As long as it gets some use when the leafs start falling or you clear off around the ac or roof vent in the fall before winter. I do not see a problem with it. I just would not want 45 lbs of maple tree leafs laying up against the AC and roof vents seams all winter. When they start breaking down it is hard on everything for some reason

@therealjr91754 жыл бұрын
It can take an hour the first time but you will get better at it. However I do not know if I would do that in between each time. Look at having the unit coated with ECO to prevent UV damage

What if your issue is the heat and sun of Florida rather than snow? Same principles? Or other/different things to consider? We own a new 20 ft travel trailer.
@KeystoneRVCenter3 жыл бұрын
I would talk to someone who lives in FL. I know there's different things but we just do not get the same abuse in PA. I would love to answer but the best answer I can give is get local advice. If you are a fisher think of it as getting bait advice from someone that fishes on a lake and you are going to be doing deep water salt fishing. Yep still fishing but completely different too -JR

Why nose dive it? Why not raise the nose...? Wouldn't it make more sense to have anything run off the rear of the unit rather than the front. Also, the way the vents (AC, plumbing, roof hatch etc.) are positioned, wouldn't you be allowing snow and debris build up where the louvers/ vents open?
@KeystoneRVCenter3 жыл бұрын

20 mil tarp will have years of service life….just spend time securing it and you’ll be fine
@KeystoneRVCenter2 жыл бұрын
I would not do that. The cost of the RV a proper RV Cover is a fraction of the cost. I would advise against the Tarp. I have seen what units look like that are tarped after several years. It is not pretty
@oddlyrightoddlyright24752 жыл бұрын
@@KeystoneRVCenter it’s all good man…rv covers don’t usually last long in my location wind uv and snow…you can tarp safely it’s just gotta be done right with a rope that goes around the rv and then numerous ropes pulling down….and it’s gotta be fairly tight

What if I get '0' snow (Southern California) but I have harsh UV rays 360 days /year?
@KeystoneRVCenter5 жыл бұрын
Protecting from UV rays is very important. I would suggest keeping it covered if possible. It's also important to keep an eye on the roofing membrane and all of your seals regularly. UV rays can damage the membrane and seals. You may also want to look into what UV protectant products are on the market for your specific type of roofing membrane. -MARK

Is it possible to have someone put up a car port? Something into the ground with a nice cover over it? That would be what I do. If you have a 28' RV now make it as long as possible because your next one will be longer and taller and you will want to plan ahead
@hardtruth20394 жыл бұрын
If you refuse or can’t use a cover for what ever reason. Clean your roof at least every 6 months or more apply more dicor when needed and apply aerospace 303 UV protectant to the roof and awning.
