I think all you need to do is give your current set of locs time. Since the problem is not with your grid, but with the damaged portion, the problem is easily solved by regular trimming every year. In 4 years the color damage with be almost completely gone if you trim off 1-2 inches every year.

I think if your happy with the size & the grids you have now, that it’s just the frail ends bothering you cut your locs shorter to where hair is healthy & strong.If you don’t like the size & grid etc etc then you have no choice but to start again, comb them out or otherwise. Your hair looks great don’t get so down about it. 😊🇬🇧

Personally I would just cut them off because I cant stand straggly or dead or thin ends but you could just do small trims until they are gone and you will love the healthy hair even more.

I think that damaged things should be repaired, if possible. Before cutting your locs, yourself, you should seek professional advice to determine the best recourse for your locs. I am a #newsubscriber who is also documenting my journey on KZbin and I will continue to follow you on this journey.
