Hi Samarth, just wanted to add something when it comes to quality of training. I believe it depends whether you're going integrated or the modular route. Integrated courses you'll be spoon fed and modular courses you go self study route. In Europe for EASA right after PPL+NVFR while building hours you need for CPL prerequisite from your local club you study the ATPL books yourself. My very personal advice to Indians is to do the course either in India itself or countries which have treaties with your country like SA, Malaysia etc. Believe me when i tell you an Indian won't be treated the same way a European would be in either CA or US, but yeah when they need to look for jobs in our country they'll know how to entice you with their so supposed interest for our culture(Diplomatic games). I met way too many Indian students outside of India who mentioned how they were ripped off. I am not Indian but Mauritian(mother from India) and i was ripped off of about 14 Lakhs in a European Academy. When you point out matters they tell you to go back home and remind you how you need them and not vice versa. Another bad thing is almost all countries accepting international students request upfront payments as a security, and once paid you're just a bloody complaining Indian to them. Never forget the moment you step out of the country, you lose all your protection. International students are always the easiest preys, because you've already paid in advance, you have no protection and for eg if you've travelled all the way to CA you will have to bear with all the injustice. There's a school in Winnipeg CA which is heavily known to train Indians and when they send you conditions for their accommodations they tell you Indian students should have regular bath or not smell bad, ask them if they would ever say that to a European. My advice to those going abroad, don't let your emotions attached to your dream make you forget you're paying, all always make sure you're getting equivalent to what you're paying. After all ATOs are the easiest way for you to burn all your cash.

Sir I have a very IMPORTANT QUESTION, after doing the CPL we have to gain experience of 2k hours at least before joining an major airliner, like emirates. So Isn't it better to be abroad where it is easier to get employed by smaller airliners, and gain experience ?? I would love to hear your comments.

I disagree with your comment reg small uncontrolled airfield. My friend did his flying at Chimes Aviation Academy, and he actually does all the flying. I visited him and found CAA infrastructure much better than all other city-based schools located at AAI fields. CAA say they are able to fly a lot more, including night flying, because they are at a their own "self-managed airspace".

I have a question. If I have attained my CPL in Australia but on an a particular aircraft, is there any restrictions on which aircraft I completed my flight training? What I mean is does the DGCA require me to complete the training on a Cessna 172 for example for my training to actually be recognised? I have heard from a few people that you require you require an endorsement for the Cessna 172 or 152 for your hours to be recognised in India. The issue with that is in Australia we get our commercial licence but this only gives us a class rating and that class rating covers a wide spectrum of aircraft. The class ratings are simply put: single-engine aeroplane or multi-engine aeroplane. Would there be any issues with this?

Hey Sam, You are doing a Great job with the videos..I have a few queries lined up, would be greatful if you could shed some light on them : -I have an Indian CPL (single engine,Cessna 152,total flying hours accumulated in India only).I am planning to go for a multi engine rating in south Africa,but I am not clear about the acceptance of the same at DGCA. -Does the make of aircraft helps in differentiating the value/relevance of type rating ? -Another option in consideration is going for a self sponsored type rating. Should it be done ?Or can we still expect CPL 200 hours vacancies ? - If yes, then which aircraft gives maximum chances of employment; ATR600 or Airbus 320 or any other aircraft in the current day scenario? -Does a type rating increase the chances of recruitment in the Indian airlines ? - Will Building hours as an AFI at an Indian flying school help in the airline recruitment ? Regards Nikhil Bhardwaj
@captsamarth
@captsamarth 6 жыл бұрын
1. I have an MER from South Africa. No issues with endorsement. 2. I don't understand the question. 3. The frequency of non-type rated CPL ab-initio vacancies is much lesser than type rated vacancies. 4. At the moment, it doesn't really matter, there's equal competition across all 3 types, B737, A320 and ATR72. 5. Yes 6. Yes.

Won't matter to an airline. However, it would help if you had a little bit of experience on something like a Garmin G1000. Your type rating would become a little easier.

Hello sir, What is the best way to go for piolet course. Is it better to take the course directly after 10+2 or is it better to take after completion of some other degree.

Hello there, I saw in Australia, their rule is like "Pay As You Go". As I'll be going with a student visa, how long will it remain valid? Another thing, whenever I've achieved the CPL how long will it take to get a job? Do they offer to work as an instructor?

Captain Sam, I am a pilot with a CPL and have finished my training in the US. I am planning on coming back to India to join an airline and would like to watch a video from you about the exact procedure of conversion to requirements for me to be able to get into an airline.

please last question, Is it wise or recommended according to you to put all your lower-middle class old Dads hard earned money into CADET pilot Programs or just to attain a Modular program( I mean doing the CPL and again type rating from some where else). My only concern is that if am putting that huge money, whether I will get a Pilot position very soon(assuming I have successfully met all the CPL, type rated) or it is better to get yourself enrolled in CADET PROGRAMS???

If you cannot afford a CPP, don't do it, they are far too expensive. Just do a CPL - MER and apply to airline with a CPL. Worry about the Type Rating once the airline inducts you. 'Nothing' is worth putting 'all' your money into.
