Should i get a GoPro?

hi guys. I want to get a new camera for my weight loss channel. one that's better than my Panasonic dc1.
I have been looking at the GoPro because it fits all that I need.
what do you guys think?
I have also been looking at the Samsung nx3000 and the sony hx50.
any help would be great.

One more thing with the action cameras Chris....You will get a nice wide angle and would add a nice dimension to the videos you produce. Both Sony and GoPro give you this.

Thanks haggis305. I am looking at the as20. Seams to be a good choice. Bit worried about the sd card slot. Some people have had problems with it. Don't mind the rant. Need all the help I can get...

You should get a GoPro4 Silver. :D

Chrisc74, If you decide you are set on a GoPro, the GoPro4 Silver Edition would be my choice. It has a touch screen and better battery performance plus no heating issues to handle the 4k 30fps of the GoPro 4 Black Edition. Good Luck. Zoey

I don't have any experience with GoPro's, but I know that the lens has an extreme wide angle.

Yes the go pro is the best action camera around but the only problem is short battery life but apart from that is has the best video quality and best filed of view you should deffo get it mate

Chrisc74, Enjoy your channel. I don't know what you plan to do with your GoPro, but from what I know about your video requirements, have you considered the Canon Vixia Mini X? It seems this would be a great option for you- full HD, external mic, etc. Zoey.

Sorry....One more thing Sony comes in wee bit cheaper than the go pro but I think quality wise especially on the earlier GoPro's. I think the Sony do a much better job....OK I'll stop ranting now ;-) Happy shopping!

It's an action cam. There's the HDR-as20,as15 and as30. It's really cheap and has a mic input.

Chrisc that lighting exactly as you sit will not get you a crisp picture bud, unless you use protune and set up the scene. battery power will be used up quite fast that you will be very disappointed if you do not get the Hero 4 Silver, the hero 3 and hero 3+you may get 30 minutes tops with Wi-Fi on. I am sure you watched one video, and if not visited a forum to know what you want? In order for you to have unlimited power, USB ac plug and cable, in order to use the ext mic you will have to give up unlimited power, unless you buy the gopro combo cable, or buy an aftermarket FPV one for a few dollars than 30.00. If wi-fi monitor is what you are after, I get a better camera. if a gopro is what you want then by all means be prepared to spend $$$$ I use my Kodak ZI8 that you still have, and say be done with spending yourfunds.do not say I warned you Lol JK Get a Polaroid Cube. or better yet, I use my iphone 6, keep forgetting how powerful it is. runs off AC power. has a ext mic port. just about any APP on the market to do anything. if you do get the gopro, get Prizmia. you have the smartphone video, with gopro video the app records , looking through the gopro recording with the smartphone

And trust me, when you get used to just putting the gopro down it is THE SAME. I do not use the wi-fi of my gopro. or even my Sony WX350. I place the cam where I want it and it films the shot. the 24mm is so wide. does not matter where we are in the frame.

Chris just watched your video on whether you should get a Go Pro and my suggestion which is a lot cheaper and does a really good job and that is a "Full HD ActionPro3" by ASTAK. I have two of them and this one is super. Check it out on Ebay, I got mine for $99.00 US. It takes a SD card and had very good battery life and takes great photos and excellent videos. It also has an external mic jack which your wanting. I use it on a daily basis. Check it out. Mel
