I have a 29 degree Cancer AC and always look at Cancer and Leo.

I think that the sidereal placements actually make the next sign accurate. Because I find Sagittarius accurate for me too and my moon is at 28 degrees of Scorpio. The tropical of the next sign is kind of similar to the sidereal of the same sign. If this makes any sense.

I go by Placidus, Pluto has recently moved into my 7th house, so if I only look at Cancer in the predictions, it doesn't always add up. That's why I'm also looking at Leo.

Does the ascendant count in stelliums? I have Venus, Mars, Jupiter (in the 12th house) and the ascendant in Leo. Would that be considered to be a stellium? I sometimes find my moon and/or sun more resonant than my ascendant. Now I see that it is more significant than I thought. Thanks, Susan, for explaining it so well and making it very clear. 💗

I’ve always resisted listening for my moon sign because it’s in the 7th and my sun sign is Leo, it feels like it’s the less personal choice… but I think it’s a matter of interpreting differently and finding a way to relate to listening for the 7H moon

Also in the milder cases like rising sign in 24 degree of Cancer, when the first house is both Cancer & Leo, how should we look at it? Technically we should say the ruler of the Ascendant, but we often hear chart ruler as well. If your ascendant is at 29 degrees of Virgo then Mercury is the ascendant ruler. Only signs have rulers (which are the planets concerned), degrees don't have rulers. I prefer to use Whole Sign houses for clarity, and I have found from 10 years of client experience (after 4 years working with Placidus) that it gives a much better reading. Either way, the ascendant degree is the one to look for, which is in Cancer regardless of the added sign using Placidus 🙏🏻

Yods are two inconjuncts with a sextile, so I do look at them but not with the same level of importance of the more powerful aspects like oppositions, squares, and trines. They add a good extra bit of information but excitement over chart aspect patterns is often overdone!

Finally I got to understand, once and for all, what a Stellium is! 😁 So far I knew how to listen to my astrological updates according to AC and natal Moon (both in ♉️ in my case) AND for my Sun Sign (♐️). My positions make it easier... But, now I have a doubt after listening to this: I am born with Mars 9°04', Sun 11°34', Neptune 13°36' AND Mercury 25°49' all in ♐️ (7th HS). Could this be still considered a "Stellium" there? Thank you for mentioning the difference between a "lunar" table and the "solar" table, and the counting of houses in each. 🤲🏻 illuminating teaching moment! 🪷

A question about synastry charts: Is it okay to compare one persons sun sign and another persons moon or venus sign? And put both persons planet in the first house? Or should it always be sun/sun comparsion only? Or ascendant/ascendant? Or moon/moon? That is something I have been wondering for some time. If you can answer I would feel very grateful for that.

Usually the synastry is done by aligning the signs, so we can see how the individuals interact with each other. I’m not familiar with the technique of aligning the Sun or Moon 🙏🏻

I have capricorn rising with the moon just 1° off the ascendant in the first house 😣 I don't like it at all. Do you also find that people project their shadows onto you as a first house moon, because of how the light of the moon is reflected light?

I haven’t found that, but my Moon is in domicile in Cancer, and it sound like yours is in Capricorn so considered in exile or detriment, and ruled by Saturn so perhaps emotions flow less easily and this makes people try to project what they think you’re feeling 🤷🏻‍♀️

@SusanHopkinson Yes it's in detriment. I come across as a cancer rising, I guess because it's the moon smack on the asc. What you're saying makes sense because I call myself the eternal suspect 😅 I read somewhere that the ruler of the 7th in the first creates deception in one on one relationships.
