Chicago is one of the most beautiful cities, breathtaking skyline, amazing food, museums and architecture! People are out all during the summer b/c the winters are long and beautiful. FYI, everybody's not trying to leave this city. Now, with all that being said, your perception of the city will be based on where you live, believe that. There are some very rough areas, but also some really nice neighborhoods. You can always live outside the city and come into the city for the action when you feel like it.

Stay in Toronto until you figure it out for sure.. Visiting and living somewhere are two different experiences. Visiting/traveling is fun, living there is reality, getting to know the type of people there, how it is taking care of business, etc.

TRUST if you revere cold azz winters you do not want to live in Chicago! Especially next to the lake. Winters here have no mercy. Also you being downtown doesnt make Chicago desirable unless you live OUTSIDE of the city. They are taxing us out the azz at 10% plus whatever tax they could add on to it and its increasing! That bag you got to put your cosmetics in - taxed, that food you ate for take out - taxed fortunately you just missed paying extra tax for sweet drinks...we fought that sweet drink tax and won. It ended Dec 1st. Yes the city is pretty downtown but underneath Chicago quality of life is becoming a mess. I could tell you more but... let's just say most of us is trying to move OUT of CHicago! Be safe yall!

Violence is everywhere not just Chicago and most of the crimes are from our inner city that's poverty stricken. And politics has always been corrupted. Corruption from politics did not start here.

I’m late but your in Chicago 😭😩💗💗 and for those who have never been to Chicago and are calling Chicago chiraq and saying bad things. Chicago is not all bad . Not at all, depending on the location of where you live. There’s a lot to do in Chicago and the same violence we have in Chicago there’s violence everywhere so don’t be so scared by everyone’s comments lol. I was born and raised in Chicago. Chicago is definitely divided by race in neighborhoods. Some neighborhoods worse then others.
