Fairy Tail's biggest strength is how it gets you care for it's characters. It's the only anime to ever make me cry from frustration when the characters lose and jump around while cheering with joy when they win.

Fairy Tail has some of the best characters in shonen. Some of the best chemistry, dynamic, and interactions. The best comparison for Fairy Tail is the Big 3. If Fairy Tail came out earlier, then they wouldve probably been the Big 4. Its insanely popular back then for a reason and was selling hundreds of thousands of volumes first week. The emotional moments in the show is some of the best as well. The OSTs are top tier just like the openings. Overall, its a really fun show ngl👌🔥

Manga was good but even then it still would have never risen up to challenge the Big 3. ''Power of Friendship'' is used as much as it is in My Little Pony. Heck they even defeat the strongest and final villain (Acnologia) with the power of friendship. At least Luffy, Naruto, Ichigo had some sort of explanation for how they got strong enough to beat their enemies but Natsu has the ''My friends in the guild believe in me'' bs

Fairy tail runs on the power of friendship trope which honestly isn't even a bad thing since it's pretty establish that emotion is part of the power scaling in the show. Fairy tail when it comes in plot and story is not the best but what it excels, is that you can vibe with the characters, you can love almost all of the cast, since the main cast has their own niche that makes them a unique character in their own way

The anime gets a lot of hate for "having too much fanservice" or "using the power of friendship too much" or being a rip off of One Piece. I won't argue with the fanservice part the show has quite a bit of it. But it only really falls back on the power of friendship a handful of times, and not if you can move past that there is so many great things about this show. As for the being a rip off of One Piece thing, a lot of people like to point their finger at Gildarts, the guy that you said looks like Shanks, because not only does he look like Shanks, but like Shanks he also lost an arm. But if you look at the manga, he actually doesn't look much like Shanks at all, it was the anime adaptation that made him look like Shanks. Besides that, Gildarts is actually present throughout a number of arcs, whereas I'm almost 500 episodes into One Piece and Luffy hasn't seen the dude since he was a kid. But putting that aside I will die on the hill that this show was amazing. There are some huge emotional moments in the show and music is top tier. The fight scenes were about average for the time, and while I would say that they get better, some would argue otherwise. Yeah, a lot of people, myself included, weren't exactly fans of the ending, but there were so many great things about the show that I have still found myself rewatching the entire series a couple of different times. Overall, I would definitely recommend that you watch the show, or at least the first couple arcs to see if you like it.

Compared to other shows fairytail closed the gap between the big 3 and other shonen. It came late and idk if it outsold Bleach but that's how popular it was. Imo it's just under the big 3 or on that level. If the fight choreography was better, they didn't take a long break (twice) and the anime wasn't so censored compared to the manga it would definitely be talked about still today. One thing Fairytail does better than other shows especially the big 3 is they don't throw away their side characters. While I don't care much for Natsu, side character development is insane in this show

Fairy Tail is one of those animes that once you start, you won't be able to stop. So many incredible characters - none of them are boring! There's so many amazing actions scenes, great comedy, wonderful storytelling, and of course exploring the world of magic. Plus, the cats are more lovable than you'd believe, lol.

I think that Fairy tail's strongest point is really its characters. I have watched a fair amount of anime, including some big shonen, and I can say with absolute certainty that FT is the one that puts the most work and emphasis on the side characters. It makes you feel all that much connected! Also, yes the power of friendship can get tiring but since you feel so emotionally invested on the characters it doesn't really bother you that much (at least not for me 😅). Another thing that I really like about FT is all the stories and the buildup. So many characters from earlier arcs keep coming back but for a reason, and the buildup to the main villain is honestly so good. The world and magic system is really intriguing, and the back stories are chefs kiss ✨ So I recommend you give it a try!!

Fairytail is my childhood anime and up until now, I'm still rewatching it. It became my happiness, however, the other arcs broke me lol. This show will give you rollercoaster ride feelings. Idk why some people hates this anime just because of the power of friendship when it has been explained multiple times. It has an amazing plot, mind blowing revelations, insane timeline connections and characters connections. I mean, fairytail has become their home and family after they lost their loved ones, most of them lived together so it's normal for them to fight for each other. I could say that the ending wasn't that bad. I'm still waiting for the announcement of 100 years quest animation, but Ig I need to wait more🙂

Funny thing natsu is not the main character, lucy the blonde is actually the main character with things being from her point of view. Tbf natsu is more like a sub main character in the story with much of the story being about him from lucy's pov. In addition the visuals in the openings you have has a couple seconds delay. Being one that watched the openings a lot I noticed that some of the music did not line up with the openings like they normally would.

The guy you refer to as a Raditz look alike is called Gajeel Redfox. During the Phantom lord arc he was the villain but later joins Fairy tail. Like Natsu he is also a dragon slayer with his element being iron. Some of his attacks include turning his arm into a giant sword covering his entire body in iron scales that act as a practically impenetrable armor and the iron dragon roar.

The girl with the swords is called Erza Scarlett. She uses a type of magic called reequip which allows her to change either her armor or weapons at will. She is also one of the strongest members of the Fairy tail guild.

Fairy Tail first came out in 2009. It's returning July 7th with Fairy Tail: 100 year quest. 21:11 grand magic games is a tournament arc and is the longest arc. Opening 13-16 are for the same tournament arc

Listen to Makarov when Lucy first joins the guild,when he talks about magic . I agreee!! Fairytail became their home and family, most of them lost their parents or doesn't have any relatives anymore. Makarov and fairytail welcomed all mages in fairytail who wants to join and give them family. So it's normal for them to fight for each other, even if it means death. Their bond built up strong. Their reason for fighting is their friends and people who's abused or in danger or those who needs help. The power of their feelings is the one who drives them to win no matter what. Example, anger, that anger will bottle up and revenge is one thing that they will achieve, so that anger will power them up and beat the opponent. It's reasonable. Idk why some people hating Fairytail just because of power of friendship when it's been explained multiple times already. Especially in Fairytail zero where fairytail started. Aside from that, the connection of timelines and characters is insane. At first I thought Fairytail would've not created if it wasn't for Natsu and Lucy. But later on I realized that fairytail would’ve not created if it wasn't for zeref trying to revive his brother. It all revealed in the end that made the story have sense. It's mind blowing.

The red dragon that appears in some of the openings is Igneel the fire dragon king. He was Natsu's adoptive father and was the one who trained him to use fire dragon slayer magic. The black dragon is Acnologia the black dragon of the apocalypse and is the final boss in the fairy tail anime.

I love fairy tail because everyone's story is intertwined and they all experienced great loss and pain and the thing that gets them together is their guid , the guild of fairy tail . So yes its very friendship but its very authentic. the red hair chick is Erza she is extremly strong and is the titania and all she wants to do is protect her family and her guild . It is a bit old and then there were odd breaks and then after years the final seasons were made after fairytail zero the back story arc of the first master of the guild

The blue cat that appears in the openings is called Happy. He is the sidekick character of Natsu. His species are called Exceeds and all the other first generation Dragon Slayers like Natsu are paired with their own exceed partner eventually throughout the series.

It's an area called Edolas kind of a mirror of fairy tail earth which is why in the opening there appears to be different looking members of Fairy Tail and that is where the Exceeds are originally from.

Fairytail’s OST was composed by Yasuharu Takanashi who also composed the OST for Naruto Shippuden. Unlike Shippuden’s OST’s very metal + traditional Japanese instruments, Fairytail’s OST on the other hand is very Celtic/Irish/folk metal, seriously it’s a gold mine of bangers

Fairy Tail honestly has some of the best music I've ever heard in an Anime series, it's such a beautiful soundtrack, it gets a lot of hate for always being about Friendship and stuff, but a lot of people compare it to Black Clover (Though I've never watched it so I can't say) But the characters are decent and it actually has a very decent English Dub compared to others I've watched that were awful, so much that I actually prefer the dub over the sub. Fairy Tail is my absolute favourite alongside Dragonball (all varients, Z, Super etc) and My Hero Academia, I'd say it's worth a watch for sure!

Fairy Tail is a wizard guild and the main character is Lucy (the blonde girl). The author worked in One Peace as assistent and 3 of his works became anime. Gildarts was made to looks like shanks and he is the most powerfull wizard in the guild. The old man is Makarov the master of the guild. The anime has 3 seasons betwen 2006 and 2017 and more than 300 episodes.

Some people will say it's Natsu (he's more like the main muscle in fights imo; his arc is WAY later than others for reasons) , some will say it's the whole guild, some will say Lucy and Natsu together. Tbh I prefer Lucy because she starts on a level us normies would understand; hence why I love her and she's Hiro's favorite FT character. She didn't have training as a kid so we get to see her grow naturally, and I adore that.

How it compares to other shows really depends on what you like. I love and it is in my personal top 5 I love the characters and the dynamics, love the humor, and the emotions the show put me through. But of course it isn't everyones cup of tea. Most people I have seen and who I know have actually tried watching it actually loves it, but didn't wanna try it a long time because of the rediculous hate train against it. And most people I have seen hating on it haven't even seen it. I even no one who was one of those spreading hate against it untill he actually tried watching it. Oh yeah and the Shanks looking guy doesn't look as much like Shanks in the manga he wasn't even supposed to have red hair, he should have brown hair. But I have no dought that the character is somewhat inspired by Shanks since the auther is a fan of some of the great mangaka that came before him and pays a little omage to them. It has some filler two fairly big arcs a mini arc and portion of one of filler episodes, but most of them are actually really good. And why is there so many cats in the show. Because their a race and characters. And please don't disrespect them they are great characters in their own right. Fairy Tail has 328 episodes. And yes there is a good amount of fan service. But honestly today I think it's how much get called fan service. Somehow just if a female character is attractive then it's fan service.

The Key of The Starry Sky arc is so good! And the 2 movies and OVAs are also confirmed canon too. ^_^ The only filler most people hate is the Daphne arc, which I admit isn't the best, but I'm a completionist so...xD

-Erza isn't evil, she looks overly tough because she is (Uzumaki blood for sure). And yeah she strips down a lot, but balances it out with the fully body armors. Or tries to. -If you don't like cats, definitely don't watch this. Or be prepared to skip sections. Or mentally censor them out. Lots of cats. Lots of the same handful of cats, anyway. -They do use flutes a lot, but I always thought that was part of the "country" charm. -Gajeel is much more like Vegeta than Raditz, since Vegeta joins the Z team. -Fairy Tail is like a sillier cross between One Piece and Naruto: very much "we're all pals" going on adventures, occasionally saving the world, people very rarely dying, tons of fan service. Also old guys who should be dead popping up to cause trouble. Not as angsty as Naruto, though they share some concepts. -The ending... hmm. I want to say technically it doesn't end since the spin-off manga is still going. That's better than the ending you get for the anime, I think. Whether you're a fan or not. -lol Gildarts does resemble Shanks. About as good a dad as him, too, from the sounds of it... -It's very easy to find a character you'll fall in love with. But if they aren't in the main group... eh. -It's entirely possible to be a fan of the openings without ever watching the anime, they're that good. -It's all the same tournament, it covers a lot of ground. And yeah there's something going on in the background that eventually overshadows it, but there are some big moments in the tourney itself early on. And yes they win, officially. It doesn't quite feel that way, though.

7:42 To me Fairy Tail is a great anime, fun to watch and to chill to. It has interesting plotline points and backstories, there are two arcs in the later seasons that are fanfavourites because of the darker tones. The characters and the figts are well structured. I prefer not to compare to other shows because honestly it's not similar nor to Naruto or One Piece, different goals and word building in general is different. It defo makes you shed a tier here and there.

The power system is magic. There are many types of magic, but the two basic types of magic are caster type and holder type, the main difference being that holder type magic revolves around using magical items. So conjuring and controlling swords would be caster type while using a sword that fires beams would be holder type. Run out of magic power and you can't use magic anymore unless you can find a way to replenish it.

The grand magic games arc is one of the best chapters in fairy tail it is a tournament to determine the strongest guild. another good arc is the Tartaros arc which will put fairy tail against the 9 demon gates which again some of those characters would prove to be a lethal threat to most other anime characters. Seilah for example is one of the 9 who's ability allows her to control a person completely. All it takes is for her to lock eyes with someone utter die and it instantly would happen.

fairy tail is in my rop 5 favorite anime franchises and with the new anime coming (100 year quest) i do think you should check it out is divided in to 3 fairy tail 2009 5 OVA's and 1 movie , fairy tail 2014 3 OVA"s and 1 movie and fairy tail final series or 2018 with a 12 episode "prequel" fairy tail zero between 2014 and 2018 oh and also some enemies then become allies like in a ton of other animes so in OP 2 he was evil but on OP 4 he wasn't anymore but i guess you shouldn't watch it based on how much you hate the cats

Fairy Tail manga came out in 2006 but the anime first released back in 2009. Also, the anime REALLY censored a lot of things and occasionally changed the looks of some characters, so you may see differences between the manga and anime. For example, the manga has more blood/gore scenes that the anime censored. The anime ended in 2019 and has 328 episodes, 9 OVAs and 2 movies. Sure there is a lot of fan service and people like to say it uses POF, but reading the manga really sets it straight that it doesn't use it any more than other manga. Yes I won't say it doesn't because it does use it, but not as much as people like to blame or say it does. Infact, I can argue Naruto uses it a lot more than Fairy Tail, and even One Piece (although I haven't caught up...I watched so far about 800 episodes to put that in context for those who haven't watched it) uses it occasionally. I personally don't think POF is a bad thing. ALSO, "the cats" are integral characters. They are like Tony Tony Chopper is to/in One Piece, or Kurama/Akamaru is in Naruto etc. They are important characters. Going off of characters, unlike most anime/manga and unlike how Hiro Mashima first initially wanted (which he said Natsu was the MC in one of the early manga chapers as his authors side note), he admitted in an interview, that he changed/now wanted the entire guild as the MCs. Also, another thing Fairy Tail does better than any other anime I have seen, (and I've seen quite a few ~ I'd say over 700 as I've kinda lost track...its more than this but i haven't completed my list lol...my list says 746 but I know there are more~ I've been watching anime/reading manga for over 20 years now and just started keeping track), is that it has a way of touching on every emotion. Like one episode can make you feel hyped up, happy/full of joy, like your heart was torn from your chest in sadness, and angry to the point you want to kill the character, all in one episode. Yes there have been many manga and anime that have made me feel the same but Fairy Tail does it differently than most. Furthermore, the soundtracks are some of the best I've ever heard which make those moments even more amazing. Going back to the fan service thing as well...yes it has a lot of fan service. Most people who hate on the show will either call it childish because of the POV or blame the show having to much Fan Service. They really can't make up their minds. However, the fan service goes both ways. Unlike a lot of anime that has been released, Fairy Tail doesn't use the fan service in a way to make a harem between characters. In fact, some can argue that the way FT does it, is good because the fan service isn't just there for men but woman too with the many male characters in the show. Yes I'd have to say Erza ( the redhead you often saw) is one of the major girls along with Lucy (blonde haired girl) and Mirajane (long white haired girl) but Gray, Natsu and almost every character even Ichiya (chin guy as you put it) lol, is eye candy. 👁 Especially Ichiya 👁. Though in all seriousness, Yes at times the fan service can go overboard but it's not all that's there. The storyline is amazing. Hiro Mashima never throws away characters. Even the side characters are brought back in later episodes. And I am going to add that all characters even side characters have amazing growth in Character development. Also Fairy Tail doesn't have a lot of filler anime episodes. Most of the filler are actually cannon now and are even talked about in cannon episodes that people who didn't watch them won't realize. Sure the anime itself is long with 2 movies, 328 +9 ovas episodes, but (in my opinion) the deeper you get into the anime, the better it becomes. This is especially true with the Tenrou arc, GMG arc, Tartaros Arc and the Fairy Tail Zero arcs which are all fan favorites. Overall, it may not be as popular now, but when it first was released, the manga sales were good enough to be labeled 4th best selling manga of all time. To be honest, if Fairy Tail had been released by Shonen Jump like One Piece, Naruto and Bleach, it wouldn't be so hated today and may even still be in the running with the big three. After all, it was (at the time of its release and even released by a different company) the 4th best as there was a wide scale range from it and other manga/anime releases then. Sure there was still a large gap between it and the big 3 but the gap between FT and other manga/anime was monumental in itself at the time. Overall, I really enjoy reading/watching this anime. It's personally my favorite anime out of the hundreds of anime and thousands of manga I've read over the years. Believe me there are some close seconds and third favorite anime but Fairy Tail holds something that none other does. Also as a side note, I can not wait for 100 years quest to be annimated! Fairy Tail had 545 chapers/328+9 episodes but so far 100 years quest has 116 chapters so far as of today (09/11/2022)! I can't wait to see it. If I've done the math right and idk for sure, there could be about 69ish cannon episodes so far❤️👆

Well, i am late, but here is my opinion. People don't like fairy tail because of "the power of friendship" or them making the mc way too strong. But isn't that just basically all the animes out there? In almost every anime, the mc has plot armour, op power, and people who they love. Even in jjk (which is down in reputation for killing the characters) yuuji out of no were was becoming a more and more stronger character, Gojo, who's supposed to be the strongest, died while Yuuji is alive. This is just the plot armour which comes while revealing a backstory which makes the character strong later on in the anime. In the same sense, Tanjiro was also supposed to be dead long back then the revealed the sun breathing and the demon Slayer mark out of nowhere. Like that, the mc of fairy tail has a backstory which makes him stronger every arc. Then comes to popular thing of how no one in fairy tail dies. Just so that you know, many people do die in fairy tail but they did not have much of the screen time, just and arc or something, but were somehow always connected to the characters. 3 characters who got a lot of screen time actually did die and it got me emotional as well. And 2, which were supposed to die got 'revived' because they still had a big role in the future. Like our Sucidal boy had a lot to do in the future. And the 3rd, 5th, 7th master still had alot to do in the future since all the other members of the guild were still 'immature brats' , but people don't really understand that and hate on fairy tail cause of how "no one" died. Comparing to other anime, people hate jjk because of how poorly the author killed off the characters, while the deaths in demon slayer were well written. Even in Bnha, bakugo died 2-3 times and is alive, and midoriya gets stronger with each thought he gains which makes no sense. (I love bnha) Then 3rd thing people compare fairy tail to is the animation. The animation of fairy tail never changed, Fairy Tail started around 2009(?) and stayed like that till the end 2018-19. It did change a bit but it wasn't good compared to the newer anime that started coming out. Well, unlike one piece or other long running anime, fairy tail was out there for just 9-ish years. If the animation suddenly changed it would be weird seeing how things used to be and how it would just suddenly change towards the end, so the animators did use all the new and pretty animation styles in the movies which came out and the 100-year-quest too does have new designs and all. Also fairy tail is full of Happy characters and banger music and ost. Sometimes it would seem kinda rushed but the story is good and so are the fights. Yah, so i really like fairy tail. Good anime. Definitely recommended. Do give it a try once and stick till episode 5-6 when they are done giving character into and how magic basically works in their world. Then you would be intrested 👍

Love your reaction! Fairy tail is really a 'good times' type of show and is most comparable to One Piece and Black Clover. Its best features are its light tone, comedy and characters. One Piece, Black Clover and Fairy Tail are all about a group of chaotic misfits and all three are in my opinion easily the most hilarious mainstream battle shounen anime/manga. That's why I think these are most comparable. Where it's lacking is it's fights, perhaps in the manga that wouldn't be as obvious but the animation in the anime just isn't quite high budget enough to make it flashy and interesting. The first part is also by far the best in terms of quality, the last few arcs get a bit too dark/serious and it looses its unique character a bit. Allot of people don't like the amount of focus on 'power of friendship' in it. But to be honest all mainstream battle shounens from the big three use this allot, though perhaps they execute it a bit less obviously than Fairy Tail. Some of them switch it up every so now and then with an arc where the main characters go through a loss or go berserk mode (so instead of 'tomodachi power' it becomes about a personal agenda or something like that). But Fairy Tail doesn't have enough dark or low moments like these so it's very monotonous in that sense, which is kind of the point. Personally I really like it, and if that sounds like something for you I'd totally recommend it. All of these shows have different strengths and flaws, so it's really a matter of preference.

It out sold them and it was so competitive back then it was considered one of the big 3 but some of the big fandoms wasn’t happy about it and literally cut them down on it and this was when it was getting peak popularity granted it came out later than the big 3 I still find that such a huge injustice how people literally did it dirty just to keep the big 3 as it was when it was literally reaching to higher levels in popularity and I’m saying this as a big fan of big 3 but fairytail was different and it’ll always have a special spot to me I have watched tons of amazing animes but nothing hits me as fairytail did in the way that they connect the audience with the characters and makes them feel just as much a part of the family

The 2 main "flaws" fairy tail has is fan service and power of friendship as if that isn't present in most anime, like I don't swing that way so it's more annoying for me, but people like what they like, power of friendship claims is a bit dishonest in my opinion, certain fights I can't defend, but a vast majority of the fights, people use their wits or an outside boost that isn't friendship Story wise fairy tail can be a very emotional anime, characters have good backstories and genuinely good character moments in my opinion Humor is not that bad! Surprisingly, for a show with that amount of fan service, the humour isn't about a dude walking in on a girl changing or something like that, I even laughed a few times and it's a thought thing for a show to do My main 2 issues with fairy tail is the fake deaths and unused potential of side characters. Some side characters do get some good moments but they are often underused (they shine more in fillers), that is if their whole deal characters aren't butchered by you know, their sister coming back to life, reducing their whole characters to having a sibling on the brink of death every arc *coughs in Straus family* Not to say that no one ever dies, there are deaths in the show, they usually happen to characters that aren't in the main crew and or don't happen on screen like I could easily make a list of deaths in the show on a page and almost fill it Overall it's a good show, ain't attack on titan level of writing, but it's a good watch and the OSTs are so fucking good! My fav has to be "absolute zero"

A lot of the fairy tail characters are stronger than most of the other anime characters that I have watched Zeref in particular would be a problem even for a character like Goku.

My top 5 1. DBZ 2. Naruto 3. Bleach 4. Fairytail 5. Black Clover As you can see I love shonen and haters made me go back to FairyTail which makes me want to switch 3 and 4. I think that Naruto has the best story in all of anime tho. (Yes I've seen alot especially AttackOnTItan)

@@sir_smilesalot9847 Yes PLEASE. Dub isn't bad, but...this show actually got me to like/watch with subs more often because of just how good and emotional the Japanese VAs get. When I first started the show, it was only in subbed, so when dubbed came, I thought I'd try it and I was HORRIFIED. The English VAs are okay, but the translations of some scenes and not enough emotions made me elect to finish the series subbed instead. ^_^ And now I mainly watch subs except for older anime I started dubbed haha.
