What about chores at home. Not so rigid on how long they work. Focus on being successful with homework and good grades.

Completely agree with Abby. Why does only paid work count? I did a lot of extra curricular activities. School can easily end up being 8 hour days with a 6 hour school fay and then homework. Plys any rxtra curricular things. Why should kids have to do more than an adults full time hours? Rest is extremely, extremely important for mental health, being able to concentrate in school etc. Also... Matt didn't you have an overworking problem? Maybe it's not great to teach our kids we have to push ourselves to our limit.

Nah, I agree with him (before he went spineless). There’s a lot of value in the kids learning both time management and responsibility outside of home and school
