Forget training camp battles.....every dang minute of every game is gonna be enjoyable with this squad! No more cringing through THJ minutes...We're gonna need time to figure out the best combos but at all times we'll have high quality players on the floor. Luka must be in heaven considering the squads he's carried through previous playoff runs.

You don't start Naji over PJ, you play PJ and Naji at the same time for a double punch of Forward defense.

If PJ is playing solid D and hitting his 3 ball and Klay is getting beat on D, I think that's a great idea. Having 2 lock down forwards that can cover the other teams two best players and still have Liv or Gafford behind them that's solid I even think Grimes could rotate into that 3 ( PJ, Naji & Grimes). 3 above average defenders that can be rotated to guard 1 - 4 for other team.

KAT is a very good player. I take KAT clearly but $ just doesn't work. Our problems are coming in 2 years when we have all these solid players that are all around 30 years old and Luka wants his super big contract. Once he signs that & Irving gets his share for hopefully a few more years we clearly will loose a few of this years roster. Vogel as a coach assistant is a big deal. I think a postive influence.

@@JohnnySmith-x2b Yea, its going to be hard to pay all these guys, especially if Luka gets the largest contract in NBA history. People are saying something like 5 years, $349 million. If DLive becomes the Center for long term he will have to be paid at some point. The good thing that Nico has done though is if the Mavs have to trade some of these guys, there is value in these trades. Many on the roster could be shopped around EASILY.

Grimes has potential to be Luka's future backcourt mate as an ELITE POA defender & volume 3-pt shooter, so he should be the injury replacement into the starting lineup when Luka or Kyrie miss time. I'm curious to see what the ceiling is on a Luka, Grimes, Marshall, PJ, & DLive lineup, since they're all 26 & under they could potentially project to grow & play together for the next 5-7+ years.

The more I think about the starting Lineups, I see a lineup with Naji instead of PJ. Either Luka or Klay has to guard the 4. All of them are 6‘7, I don’t see a difference

PJ plays better with an elite center like Lively. Naji will be fine with Gafford. PJ would have been on the all defensive team if he had been with Dallas all year.

Naji has a very small sample size worth of 3s because he was a bench player that was mainly there for defense for the pels. He’s unproven while PJs proven he can get hot during a playoff run.

Nah man PJ is a beast and now he has had an offseason and is comfortable with his team. That 3% will go up to 36% at least. And with the defense he provides that is plenty good....especially being surrounded by studs who space the floor. PJ will feast on his driving floaters this year.

Obviously last year Luka should have won MVP. It wasn't his numbers or how he lead us to the finals. The Media many of color simply won't vote for a player due to their skin color, ashame that it still exists but the media feeds of it. Funny even within this podcast last year comments flooded in giving opinions on Irving vs Luka, guys they are TEAMMATES, playing TOGETHER trying to win a Championship. Let's encourage and support them not cast stones of negativity. We should be able to win even if Luka misses a number of games. Problem is the pace will be so faster with ball in Irvings hand but then does the ball rotate back to him for his shots? Then players adjust to that speed and ball movement then Luka comes back and his ball dominance slows down the game and less touches for some players. These are all high ego A personalities. Simply listen to Lively "Im going to take whatever shot I get" such a dangerous statement, such a I want to be a Wimby or Chet. Which unfortunately he is NOT. Great comment from Slightly, Liv should get 80% of his shots from pick n roll. If he wants post ups or shooting 3, then Lukas Irving & Klays games will be negativity impacted. Dominate the Paint, lead the team in blocks and rebounds who accepts that roll best. To me I see Gafford clearly accepts that roll best. Time will tell hopefully Liv accepts what the team needs most.

IMO this trade makes both teams weaker. It certainly changes up the $. But, KAT doesnt want to and does not match up well inside. With Brunson being ball dominate and Donte playing & shooting so well off ball for those reasons Knicks appear weaker than last year. The Wolves now get a All Star player not a great 3 point shooter or Defender. How does he fit with Ant & Gober. Does Randle get the ball in his hands as much as he wants. Obviously Naz benefits but how does he and Randle fit.

I think all players accepting their role will be the key. You got two super stars that have figured out how to play off each other. My concern is can the new players accept their roles that we must have them do to be acceptable. Plus we are hearing the increased role that Liv & PJ are self proclaiming they are going to attempt this year. Do we really want PJ bringing the ball up the court??? Do we really want Liv & Gafford thinking they are 3 point shooters????. If they jack 3's is Luka & Irving going to have to lead us in rebounding again. Why does Luka get so many rebounds? Pretty simple first he gives effort to do so but clearly as the league shoots more 3 balls longer shots results in longer rebounds. Liv & Gaf control the paint let our shooters shoot neither of you are Wimby, Chet, Embid or even Lopez. You want to improve your shooting start at the free throw line hit 80% and not have other teams looking to foul you to get the ball out of Irving and Lukas hands. Klay, Luka & Irving clearly should shoot the most 3's. But Clearly Luka should Not lead the team in Rebounds. Players gotta accept their roles. I predict the two big surprises will be Naji may be starting by trade deadline. Next Grimes may be starting over Klay (having Klay be our 6th man will actually get him more shots IMO) and last if Liv thinks he is a shooter the Gafford will be starting. Start of season clearly the starting lineup will be Luka, Irving, Klay, PJ & Liv. But if that group is not winning then start Luka, Irving, Grimes, Naji & Gafford. With Klay, PJ & Liv getting rotated certainly in the first qtr and each of the top 9 getting solid mins. Will be so interesting to see how Exum, SD, Hardy, Edward's & Maxi earn their mins.

For the Knicks I think they got worse because I think that while KAT is extremely talented I don't think he's tough enough to play the minute he's going to be asked for and to play for that coach again. He didn't like playing from the first time. I think Minnesota got better because as good as they were in the regular season and as good as they were against Denver they were built for the regular season and built to play against Denver. The truth is the two big lineup in the NBA is archaic and over. The real truth is they actually added to Wing depth and while Randall is not towns He is tougher and they could play faster and a little smaller which they needed to. I knew when they went against the team like Dallas or a team like Oklahoma City they would cut them up because they couldn't hang with them back door because they're too big. The only problem the Timberwolves are going to have now is where does the scoring come from outside of Anthony Edwards

On Lukas injury? What if? Irving, Grimes, SD, Exum, Klay, Naji, PJ, Hardy, OMax, Liv & Gafford. All show great improvement playing a up tempo game and winning. Kidd has a great decision to make in changing that style of play and giving Luka the ball back as point guard being ball dominate, slowing pace down, liability on D but most importantly bitching at refs continuously hurting himself but more importantly his team. Can he adapt and become the leader we need to lead us to the championship?? If this doesn't adjust, do we offer him the super Max contract? Or let him go to Lakers or Nuggets and win his championships with one of those teams. You know the Lakers will bring in another SuperStar player once LaBron retires. Food for Thought.
