This is why his ceiling is theoretically very high. Even as a doubter I'm willing to admit in an ideal world Chet COULD be a monster. I just don't buy he can put on enough muscle to not get bullied against NBA players.
@mimsycici6185
@mimsycici6185 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, but that was the reason he was a no7 pick and he wasnt even considered to be a no1 pick on any mocks and most of them had Blake because he was already NBA ready player with upside to become an all star which was good projection. No1 pick carries a big responsibility and high level of expectations, even more if you are picked by a bigger franchise. Personally, if I am a GM , I wouldnt pick Chet with my 1st pick. He is simply too raw of a player to compete at this stage and it takes good psychical strength to overcame "he is a bust" comments and just focus on your game. KD is a generational player, unique talent and still is so much emotional and vulnerable to media and fans comments. Not everyone has that mental power to deal with it.

Oden's only knock was the horrifying injury issues and physical health problems. But honestly I don't see Chet even surviving a year or 2. He's slimmer than Porzingas and almost as tall. He has no choice no muscle and unless they sit him a year or 2 to develop muscle...He has little to 0 chance to succeed. Paolo and jabari are the 1 or 2 picks. In my world.

What is Shannon talking about Chet playing small? Yeah his scoring dipped in some games, but I never saw him shy away from physicality. He was always in the thick of it fighting for the rebound, boxing out, or blocking shots. You don’t get over 100 blocks in a college season not playing physically dominant at a consistent measure. If Bruce pearl really wanted to help Jabari maybe he should have made him improve his handle. Seriously Chet for all his slimness is more skilled driving to the lane then a dude who’s 30 pounds heavier than him. Plus if Jabari doesn’t lose then maybe it was someone else I saw scoring 10 points on .188/.125/.500 splits while getting embarrassed by Miami?

You have to be nervous seeing a guy 7-foot play 6 foot against better players. He'll never be a player even at 7 feet to play with his back to the basket to exploit a mismatch. They'll just push him to where they want him. They'll push him right out of a rebound. Why NBA teams what to draft a guy that's 7 feet tall and take the advantage by taking it away having the player shoot nothing but 3s. Boston lost because they didn't use their size. They made it easy for GS to defend them with shorter guys when Boston have every player standing at the 3 point line. Get in the box. Draw fould and just around around and shoot over them from 10 feet.

Chet Holmgren is gna be soooo hard for teams and Organizations to commit too over some of these other Top 5 candidates in the draft, cuz wht he did at Gonzaga was pretty great, but ur playing same age and same level players or some guys who aren't nowhere near a 5 Star recruit like Holmgren, and Chet talks with all the confidence in the world, but he's just skinny man. Like almost too skinny, to where he could easily be liable for injury, cuz u bumping and going at it with grown men and all players who at ur level or better coming in, hopefully for Chet with all the help an NBA organization can afford to get him the right fitness and try and get him eating on a certain regimen and try and get him to gain weight and build more muscle, I mean hooks like a 7 foot pole! Lbvs, so thts his problem but he's got all the skillsets, it's just he'll have to play as a stretch 4 because he can shoot the ball well, I mean thts wht they said about Durant but now look at him!!! But Chet is skinnier then even Durant was... so idk well see wht happens with him in the draft

And I remember how tall and skinny Giannis was when he was a rookie and he was getting bumped around in the paint but as he got a few years into the league and got a few years older and developed his body into one of the best physical specimens in the league, but idk I think it might be something of a metabolism problem or a Thyroid problem, so hopefully thts not the case and he'll be able to put on some weight and add muscle like Giannis did so well see

let me be very clear. CHET IS TOO DAMN SKINNY. people keep bringing up durant in skinny people's defense, but KD is one of a kind. name another superstar or even star who is that skinny. steph is kind of slim but he's a guard, his game is suited for running around all the time and not getting tired. chet's height will mean nothing if he can't put on any muscle, otherwise he'll just be another aleksej pokusevski, who's exactly the same height and weight as chet by the way

@@dolowrld7043 they both weigh the same, but chet is 4 inches taller. What’s the point of all that height if you can’t impose yourself physically? Ingram doesn’t need to impose himslef physically because he scores from mostly jumpers. It’d be a waste to draft a 7 footer just to have them shoot 3s all day

Jabari Smith does have a sweet jumper, though. I like that the kid means business, is coachable and has got plenty of room to improve on both ends of the floor. Walker Kessler was measured at 7'0.25' not 7'1.5''', Skiup. Still tall as heck. Good luck to OKC with Chet and Pokuševski and their combined 300 lbs of bones and skin.

No way. Draft class is all about the number of All NBA teams and All star selections and I dont see that many ALL Star caliber players in this draft. This one can be deep in terms of number of players who had notable and long careers with a couple of future superstars but far from the best.

Well damn skip if a guy can't get out of his own way. Then that matters in the pick. Don't pick an injury prone or a basket case or a criminal. Sometimes it matters in who u pick. So yes you are to blame if you pick and idiot just because he is big or on potential
