Avoiding characteristics like the lanterns is really a nice tip by the way, thank you for teaching us. However for the rest, is it not a bit exagerated ? People don't celebrate Halloween as a pagan holiday, but just as a party to collect Candys and disguise themselves, sometimes just doing cosplay or wearing cute or funny clothes. Clothes can be Islamic too. It can be thrilling for children and part of their childhood memories. How about we nuance our perspectives a little bit ? It all depends in the intention also.

The prophet ﷺ said “whoever imitates a people is one of them” (Abu Dawud) According to Ibn Kathir’s tafsir of (2:104-105) it is haram to imitate the disbelievers actions and their deeds. Who cares if it’s free candy and stuff. Have you not had fun with your friends without having to go knock on people’s doors and take candy? If a bar was giving free water to all their customers, would you go enter just to drink? No, of course not. (Being in the vicinity of alcohol consumption and sales, among other things is haram)
