Couple times ago I got a new friend, an Orthodox girl who loves writing just like me. She invited me many times to interfaith meetings including iftar in last week yet I always declined. Something in my heart warns that I'd better not going at all. Maybe because Muslim representatives on those events are liberals, and I have got uncomfortable feeling. I still befriend with the girl, and I dont mind hanging out or talking about literature together. Yet I build some wall when it comes for belief and Deen.

There is a masjid not far from here that hosts an interfaith iftar and an Iftar for converts and their non Muslim families. I think it’s a beautiful effort to spread awareness to the community and allows some dawah to take place. If a church or a temple were hosting an Iftar that’s completely different.

What I see, when it comes to 'interfaith' event..usually is about 'we follow you now you follow us', and we have to listen to their 'da'wah'..

For dawah purpose is fine. You teach them why LGBT is haram or explain them who god is. They are lost and need guidance and islam is the truth so everyone deserves to be told what the truth is. But you as a Muslim cannot join pride month simply because it is fitnah and it’s is a huge sin. Also once they enter a mosque they need to dress accordingly as well.
