As a Benfica fan, I want Real Madrid. I want to play against the champions, and if we get eliminated, it is the obvious outcome, and everyone would expect Real to win, but if so happens that we win, then the world would finally notice the good work put in that team. Juventus lost because they are bad, psg didn’t win against benfica because they got sloppy, resuming benfica never got any credit at least from what I’ve been heard or seen from these ex players/ pundits. I understand that benfica and Porto play in an inferior league, but when you look at a game or a competition like this, you have to look to what happened inside the pitch, not going only for the big budget teams. Ajax needed to beat Real to get some respect, I want to at least try to do the same. If not, we were eliminated by the champions, so everything normal. Portuguese teams sometimes are too much humble for their own good, but in these case it could work if the mentality is balanced. And who plays at home first will be decisive. A second leg in Spain is much more difficult for any team.

Madrid team is in a different path. They are in the middle of a transition from the old glory’s ( Kroos, modric, benzema) to the new ( camavinga, Vinicius, tchouameni), and they have more ups and downs in terms of playing quality. Real Madrid is definitely the most unpredictable team in the CL, because you can win 4-0 against them, I truly believe benfica can do it, but then in Spain, they just spank you with a 5-0 just like that. Im a Napoli fan lifetime. I go to explain to who is surprised. The team Is playing excellent and spectacular football in the last 10+ seasons. Great teams with great players. Results: ups and downs but many times 2nd in serie A (deserved 2018 scudetto with 91 points) and unlucky with Champions League draws, groups and 1/8 finals. This year the management made an intelligent rebuild, high paid players out and very good new players came to replace. Many "experts" told we can run for 5th place, but we are winning by 20 pts in serie A. We have the best Attack in Champions League. This year the team roster Is very Deep. In the past we had Always 12/13 good players. Now we have 11 top players and 5/6 great sub. Final thing: Spalletti Is a Genius and this year he Is on the top of his career. This year everything is at the best, including team mentality. They are young, strong and angry.

The teams that can win the champions league are those that have won it recently(last 6-7 years) or those that were in the final recently. Chelsea can win, real, bayern, city can win. Inter, milan and benfica could reach the final with luck but they cannot win. Napoli maybe but i think they can't win it either. Look at the story of the champions league. Liverpool lost in 2018, atletico lost in 14/16, dortmund lost, city lost vs chelsea, psg lost, tottenham lost. I do think Napoli has the potential to be a really good team in the UCL for the years to come, but this is only their first time ever in the UCL quarterfinals and remember, Real, Bayern or even man city are there. So if they have to play any of those teams, it won’t be easy. But still, I really like what spaletti is doing to them, and this is a team that is building up for success in the years to come.

No. 100% not. This is it. Do it now or never. When the season end bigger clubs will come and buy their best players. Napoli is a selling club and is always willing to sell their best players with good price. Thus next years there will be no Osihmen and no Karadona. Both will be sold with higher prices. Thus Napoli should put everything they have to win it now. It is now or never.

@@catchnkill on the contrary, Napoli is famous for at least 3-4 years tenure (Higuain, Cavani) but mostly go for longer stints (Insigne, Koulibaly, Mertens stayed 11, 9 and 10 years respectively) I don't know where you get the selling club rep from. AND they are well know for selling their players very dear. Everybody says that all PL teams are going to be looking for Osi but Napoli president already said the club's finances are very healthy, no need to sell so price is going to be 150M. PL teams can boast that they can spend that money but the reality of 150M price tag + wages for a potential "fail" (who's guaranteeing that Osi will perform in PL?) makes for a different reality than what most media portrays.

@@JoeMinichino I am not so sure from reading their fiancial statement that they are healthy. From June 2019 to Jun 2022 three years, they accumulated a total loss of €129.8m. The whole Serie-A is in a problem. Napoli is part of it. If they can sustain by not selling players, it is fine. I also think that a strong Napoli to break the EPL domination over champions league is good. Wish them good luck. That's why I said that it is now or nothing. Winning this year's champions league will improve their financial situation a lot. It will help to bring in more endorsement and revenue source.

@@catchnkill it is true that they accumulated loses, but they have no debts, and the next P&L looks very healthy since this year they slashed wages by 40% which was their biggest cost. Plus the 70M that the amazing CL campaign had brought. Indeed winning this much is going to reveal very profitable for the club. Nevertheless i am with you although as a fan i do hope Napoli is in it too open a cycle rather than a single meteoric season. The signs of success have been constantly building for years, people only think of them as an overnight success but it's a 10-year overnight success

Everyone sleeping on Chelsea because they're having a tough season but win the champions league in tough seasons. The point is that experience counts as being the most important trait in this competition, then it's how good you are as a team. Favourites are Real and Bayern as per the usual. Next up who can win are City (as they have at least played a final), Chelsea, then Napoli who have been outstanding. Benfica are very much a wildcard.
