Ainz killed the Frost Dragon Lord and enslaved the remaining frost dragons and it still wasn't enough to make Platinum Dragon Lord take action. It's not that he doesn't care about the lesser races he doesn't even care about his own race. I believe that the cause for his inaction is his innate racial characteristics. Stronger races have strong drawbacks. Vampires have blood frenzy and sun light weakness. Dragons have Dragon Sickness or Gold Fever. Once they secure a horde of treasure they are incapable of leaving it for long periods of time and will only act wen the horde is in danger. And what horde is greater then an ex Yggdrasill guild volt.

Heck, before the Six Gods and Eight Greed Kings arrived, humanity was on the brink of extinction. The Six Gods created a safe haven for humans. Then most of the Six Gods died(most of old age). Then the Eight Greed Kings arrived, conquered the world, slaughtering all of the great threats to humanity. It's even been stated that that humanity wouldn't have survived nor prospered without what the Eight Greed Kings did, and that work was continued by the Theocracy. It's very likely that the Theocracy(the then only safe haven for mankind) would have eventually been squashed without the arrival and actions of the Eight Greed Kings. The Yggdrasil players truly are the best thing that has arrived to this world in general when it comes to make a better future for the New World. The Six Gods and the Eight Greed Kings paved the way for the survival and prosperity of humanity. The Minotaur Sage advanced the New World's technology. The two players among the 13 Heroes assembled many heroes to fight with them to protect the world from the Evil Deities(likely out of control NPCs) that would've destroyed everything built by the previous players otherwise (and might have forced humanity to return to the state it was back when the early Theocracy was the only safe haven for them). And now there's Ainz, who is working toward building an utopia, in all seriousness, and with the power to back it up and maintain it.

For the best result for that Ainz would need to have fully conquered the world before then. However, if he doesn't have completely control of all regions of the world by then, the new players might become a bigger threat than otherwise. It also depends on where the players would arrive, since that could influence if they stand with or against Ainz's Utopia/Tyrannic Empire depending on the point of view of the different sides. If the world is already conquered, the new players could make some regions rise in rebellion. If the world isn't conquered fully yet, that would be even more likely to occur. However, if several players come, it's also possible for some to side with Ainz. This gives us 3 possibilities: 1- They all side against Ainz, and in turn might also cause some already conquered regions to rebel. 2- Some side with Ainz and some others against Ainz, leading to some more complicated situations, but still better for Ainz than option 1. This option also has the possibility of Ainz and the players siding with him managing to convince the ones against him to switch side either after experiencing the Utopia or for the sake of high rank of power under Ainz in that Utopia. 3- The new players all siding with Ainz, thus making it even harder for people to rebel or fight against Ainz, as well as making it harder for future arriving players to combat Ainz. Another important variable is the life expectancy of the species under the rule of Ainz. The shorter lived ones, like humans, might very well just have already grown fully used to Ainz's rule a century later. Even more so considering the Human regions of the New World are the place Ainz began his conquest with. It's literally the center of his empire. Then there's the many beastmen and demihuman kingdoms and empires in many regions of the New World. Those already conquered would likely side with Ainz without rebelling. Those possibly not conquered yet would likely still oppose him as the warmongering races most of them are. As for the many heteromorph species, I can easily imagine a lot of them joining Ainz (though some who don't want the rules of the Utopia would still oppose), or would at the very least side with Ainz against new players rather than fight to abolish the Utopia that acknowledges them. Finally, for the other long lived species, such as dragons, elves from regions other than the one next to the Theocracy, other powerful nations possibly still not conquered (and not human nations, since those are mainly only in the region where the Theocracy is). These would likely still remember how things were before Ainz's rule even if they have been conquered, and would thus likely rebel if new players arrive.

One point worth thinking about is that perhaps PDL doesn't act to try and create a better world because he doesn't understand what a better world is. I'd draw a comparison to Monica of DDLC. She breaks the game, her reality. Absolutely tears it asunder to achieve her victory. And what does she choose to do with that? Be the players girlfriend. Because she can't even conceive of anything else to want or achieve. Perhaps PDL is like that, he actually just doesn't have the knowledge or perhaps the wisdom and foresight to be able to envision a different, better world, and so contents himself that things are as good as they can reasonably be.

You mentioned that they can act and indeed they can but so far from what has been written and shown, it doesn't seem like PDL or any other dragon lord for that matter are doing enough. Its really only PDL that seems to be doing something about it and he himself has admitted that he can't rely on the other dragon lords for help. My opinion is that the previous players that arrived before nazarick were relatively passive and therefore PDL and other's probably felt safe ignoring them. This was likely the case with the all talk sage. Really apart from the much less powerful evil deities there hasn't been anything as apocalyptic as the eight greed kings for them.

I don't think Platinum Dragon Lord is arrogant and passive. I think he's traumatized and in hiding. Remember that within his life-time Dragons have been reduced from being the the most powerful force in his world, to effectively being an endangered species. The very rules of his reality were re-written, so the world no longer works the way it did when he was young. Of course he views this as a "corruption" of the way things are supposed to be. From his perspective, the New World is a post-apocalyptic setting.

Elder Coffin Dragon Lord in the Evileye side story basically said it without saying it. He hates Players for "polluting" the world, but what he really means is he's afraid of them because they're stronger than Dragon Lords, who have never known threats. In the long run, the New World has mostly benefitted from Players. Humanity was nearing extinction before the Six Great Gods came along. And the Eight Greed Kings removed most of the strongest dragons and weakened their Wild Magic, which is powered by consuming souls. The weaker races have been given a chance to fight back and innovate because of what Players left them. Yes, there's war all over the place, but keep in kind it's only been 600 something years since dragons were knocked off their seats of power. With them still running the show, the New World would be a complete dump.

Lets be honest: (Most of the time) Ainz has no idea how to be a 'good' king but at least he tries. For example Demiurge and Albedo are the ones making plans and help Ainz, that's the biggest different to the Dragon Lord. They are designed to be smart and the others in Nazarick too. In a world where the strongest rule.. maybe the Platinum Dragon doesn't know how to rule over the world without his power or if he is smart enough he fears beeing a part in the politics of the New World or something like that. The countries are far too different even with his power he could not make them all be friends, I mean look at the Slane Theocracy they would never accept to live with other species. Ainz on the other hand tries to rule over the Lizardman without fear. He was part of a working society back in the real world and knows humans and non-humans. Out of all the individuals in the new world he could be the only one understanding everyone even tho he doesn't feel like a human anymore he knows very well what it means and what they feel.

I hold the opinion that utopia is a fool's dream, it certainly is in our real world and every attempt has lead only to suffering and a dystopian nightmare. Ainz is definitely evil in that he is selfish, is willing to use overwhelming force against people helpless against him and his biggest problem is his failure to reign in the cruelty of his subordinates like Demiurge. However it would a grave error to dismiss Ainz as simply being evil, he demonstrates many times that he does have good qualities and draws the line to prevent his servants engaging in even more evil than they normally would. Carne Village admires Ainz and have nothing but respect and gratitude for him. His love for his friends is a strong influence on him and it's quite clear just how much he cares for all of Nazarick. Ainz's greatest anger comes from people threatening or attacking his people, for he regards the guardians and the rest as his children. As for Platinum Dragon Lord, what am I supposed to say? He's a background character who does basically nothing! Get back to me when he does something noteworthy!

so far ainz has only intentionally harmed enemy soldiers on the battle field (war is war and one side has to kill the other off to win) or psychopaths and criminals like clementine that deserved what he did to them, so far all the innocent people that have died were killed directly by demi (spoilers for Light Novel coming) and ainz eventually does speak to demi about this when he finds out the truth about demis happy farm and he orders demi to release all the innocent people demi has (although he allows demi to keep captured enemies of nazarack and heinous criminals prisoner and allows demi to keep torturing/experimenting on them) showing that he does have good in him as long as your innocent and not a enemy of nazarack.

Love your work, I want to throw another point of view for Platinum is that it's thought process is not mortal in the slightest or human, it's not even on our same cultural paradigm. It could be thiking literally at such a long game that a couple centuries or millennium of civil war and blood shed amongst the mortal races will gradually reach the natural outcome of peace in self determined way and not a forced way. Forced methods always fall apart as soon as the acting force leaves. While natural equilibriums will continue on infinitely until acted upon by an outside force. Now if a world became powerful enough through ages of conflict, could possibly defend against that outside force. That's my devil's advocate. Although I personally prefer Momonga's method. Way before Overlord, i had a dnd character that was a LG Necromancer who believed the soulless undead should fight the wars and do the hard work so his people could focus on r&d, arts, education, and peace. If their were intelligent undead in his command, it was his ancestors that decided themselves to help forever in their tortured state not because he forced it. So when I saw the Overlord anime I was so in love with the series.

There are no "good" sides in Overlord as far as I can see. We all know that an end doesn't always justify the means. Even if the end is good, there will always be resistance to it's corrupted means of creation. That's just the reality of life. When paired with the rule that nothing lasts forever, it further proves this point. So Ainz can monstrously create a Utopia, but it is only temporary and will never be rid of the stain of it's creation. Therefore, he, along with seemingly everyone else in Overlord, is not "good". At least not in the way that humans/mortals can perceive it.

It's interesting you mention Star Trek, since Platinum is essentially upholding the Prime Directive while Ainz is actively breaking it. The new world can achieve peace via force through Ainz Ooal Gown, but once he is gone it will all break down again. Sure he's immortal, but he could die to any number of circumstances, and if not? What happens 10,000 years after world domination? Will Ainz psyche be able to match that of a Dragonlord who can sleep the years away and be sustained psychologically via their hoard of loot? I imagine if Ainz ends up achieving his goals, it will all end with him either killing himself, or finding a way to kill all the Nazarick NPC's before taking his own unlife. Ainz couldn't stand his real life, Ainz is constantly bothered by his current situation and wants to always just "run away" from his Overlord life. He's currently doing things that keep his mind occupied and his curiosity engaged, but what will become of him when there are no more distractions and he's left with nothing but his own self loathing and an eternity to contemplate it without the ability to sleep, never able to rest, eternally running at 100% with nothing to do. He's already mentioned that he will not permit certain levels of technological development due to his paranoia so there will be nothing new there, ironically the paranoia that is protecting him now will eventually send him to his own personal happy farm.

Ainz is evil no if ands or buts. but it's a very complicated kind of evil, sort of like thanos from endgame. While ainz is taking over the world due to a misunderstanding he doesn't want to correct out of fear of disappointing his minions, and while he's doing all sorts of messed up shit in the process, there is no denying that in the end the world would be a better place. He IS someone from the real world with much knowledge from it and he has magical means of excetuting concepts from the real world without it's negative effects. the idea of no one going hungry is just one example of this. undead can make food and destrabute it to EVERYONE, where as in the real world food may be produced but access is an issue. With farmers having more free time they can do other things like go to school (possible double edged sword if not done right)which in turn could lead to a better overall life for everyone due to possible innovations.

I have to disagree. An annual war between 2 nations or an attack on a town by demihumans is not as much a threat as a lvl 100 player with his entire guild base filled with op monsters and artifacts. Demihumans can be beaten back by humans eventually and wars end with one victor and then there is peace but the likes of Ains cannot be stopped through conventional means. Ains has committed atrocities left and right and he views people based on how useful they are to him, living or dead, you think a guy like that can build a utopia when he cannot even rule his own kingdom and leaves everything to Albedo and Demiurge to handle? He even said he intends to make sure not to let the inhabitants of the new world improve ther technology and magic so they can never be threat to him and thats the first step towards a dystopia. Like that naga said, everyone is equally beneath the forces of Nazarick. Demurge can create a living hell for humans for his enjoyment and force serial rape on women by demihumans for his experiments and Ains would never stop him or be aware of it even because he is just incompetent as a ruler and too cowardly to confront his subordinates for fear that they will turn against him or be disappointed in him, there is no way he can make such a fair society unless he stumbled upon a solution like he did with Jircniv in the Empire arena. The people of the holy kingdom were living in relative peace and prosperity and they had a just queen and Ains and Demiruge destroyed that nation for no reason other than to expand their fame and dominion. The ends justify the means only when the ends benefit the collective. In this case it benefits only Ains and his underlings. "A short bloody war is better than the daily dangerous life in the NW." Only in certain areas it isn't that dangerous at all. All kingdoms aren't like the Re:estize kingdom, some are prospering and Ains will crush them regardless not for his utopia but for himself. I have no idea why you seem to hate the Platinum Dragon Lord since we know little about him and he only appeared in one scene and he hasn't shown himself to be anywhere near as selfrightous as you make him out to be. The problem is that PDL is only concerns about the Yggdrasil players. Yes Ainz did many atrocities but it was becuase of his joke of conquering the world and the NPC take the words of the supreme being seriously without question, the only who tries to question Ainz and the purpose of his action is well Pandora Actor. Out all the NPC, Pandora Actor is very close to Ainz and he knows that Ainz is not perfect, plus Demi and Albedo are the smartess NPC in Nazarick but not smart enough to understand Ainz like P.A. Ainz is just doing this all thing because the NPC were doing it, he had no plans of conquering the world at first he just wanted give his guild a great image through good deeds as an adventurer A.KA Momon, but because of Shelltear being mind control by the Black Scripture which to his logic meant that other players are in the new world and they pose a threat to him to of his past experiences from his gaming days he had to change his plan. Also overtime he grew bored from being an adventurer and see it as a chore so when Demi said that Ainz "plan" was conquering the new world and establish his own nation, he just goes along with it. Ainz is just what like to call him an Smart-Idiot Airhead, he smart enough not to do anything stupid but he also oblivious to the action his causing, i mean he didn't know that the adventurer from E-rantel were super fans of his Momon persona while he just thought that Momon was a respected adventurer and he should act as like a "Superman" and his old friend Touch-Me and not cause anything that could hurt Momon reputation. Players from Yggdrasil when picked an avatar to play, and transported to the new world their human souls are getting warped depeding on the karma level and the race that the palyer picked. As the race Ainz he picked, picked as an undead necromancer and his guild were basically role-playing as super villains back in Yggdrasil. but because he got teleported in the new wolrd, the karma level and his race warps his human soul and mind slowly, this happened to the previous players that got teleported if they picked a heteromorphic race their human soul and mind becomes the race they choose in Yggdrasil.

Then there's also what the alternate story that is the web novel. While the light novel story is different from the web novel after a certain point, the information pieces we learned in the web novel about the New World have all been proven to also be true in the light novel (out of all those that have shown up in the light novel, including those that are simply implied in the LN and were stated in WN).

Fear is a good motivation to try and undermine the players. Any acts that are for the betterment of the new world is fine. But when the players use their power to try and rule the world that's when it becomes an issue. It's not fair for them to conquer the land from the 'natives'. @American Restoration Initiative actually the new world dragons are able to use there wild magic without the need of a sacrifice or sacrifices due to a race passive/ability they have which was the reason they were the dominate race bc the other races would have to suffer hundreds even thousands of lives in order to use wild magic strong enough to hurt (let alone kill) one dragon and thats just a average strength dragon and as for dragon lords well they were pretty much invincible unless there enemy was willing to sacrifice tens if not hundreds of thousands of lives to fuel a single spell strong enough to hurt/kill the dragon lord (think of ainz using his super tier spell that caused the splat fest thats the number of sacrifices non dragons/dragoniods races needed to fuel a single spell that might be able to hurt and possibly kill a dragon lord) but when the 6 great gods came along they taught humans and other races how to use yggdrasil magic which relied on mana instead of souls as fuel allowing humans and demi humans to fight back against most dragons without the need to sacrifice tons of people and yggdrasil players/yggdrasil npcs also crossbred with new worlders to create the godkin and atleast 2 of those godkin (zesshi and the leader of the BS) are strong enough to go one on one with a dragonlord and have a good shot at winning.

The more I listen to the light novels, what has the platinum dragon lord been doing? The Dwarfs were literally almost whipped out completely. Human misery and pointless wars where innocent women and children were slaughtered. Hell the story starts off with Slane Theocracy literally slaughtering whole innocent villages just to get to one man. Ainz's methods are more human than platinum dragon is willing to admit, the only difference is Ainz has the ability to completely destroy nations at the drop of a hat (even though that's not what Ainz's wants to do). I completely agree this crazy world with demi humans, godkins, and humans can only be peaceful if someone strong forces them to do it. In a sense platinum dragon's emotions are allowing him to be as weak as humans that are causing all the misery in this world. Ainz is the perfect solution, a former human that can act without having emotions get in the way. Ainz is not evil (maybe his minons are lol) and that's why I hope this story ends with Ainz leaving the world after he has complete control over it. Maybe he can give Albedo an heir lol.

It's believed that the 6 Gods, the 8 Kings of Greed, including 2 of the Legendary Heroes were all Players from Yggdrasil. The appearance of the 6 Gods lead to the creation of Tier Magic, and weakening of Wild Magic. This greatly weakened the Dragon Lords of that time, including PDL. With what we have about PDL, it's clear he's cautious of Players and regard them as a threat. He journeyed with the Legendary Heroes, maybe as a way to monitor them, and examine whether their intentions affect him. And remember, the 2 Players from the Legendary Heroes ended up killing each other. I wondered if he's involved.

Hell even the so called defenders of Humanity the Sloane-Theocracy send their Sunlight Scripture to massacre innocent villagers in the Bordering Regions of Re-estize. The sadistic nature of the likes of Albedo, Demigure etc is because they are created this way but what the likes of Empire, Slane Theocracy & Nobles of Re-Estize were doing to their people was absolute Evil. Those who are coming under the rule of Soccerous Kingdom or as allies are having a real good time be it:- (1) Lizardmen (2) Dwarves (3) Empire (4) Citizens of E-Rantel (5) Carne Village (6) Hell even 8-finger were taken care of in the end. There is No morale high ground for anyone that is involved in the power struggles be it Ainz, Re-Estize, Empire or Slane Theocracy. I hope that Ainz won't kill Dragon-Lords as it will be better to enslave them & put under the authority of Sebas. [Sorry if you already know all this since obviously you read the side story] Current theory we have is that in some way, the Dragon Emperor knew of and wished to obtain world items from "the other dimension" this being yggdrasil. How he knew of said items in the first place or why exactly he wanted them besides just for power is unknown. But we can safely assume he cast some form of powerful wild magic in order to bring them over to the new world. The unfortunate side to this is that said world items sometimes came with players (6 great gods, Minotaur guy, and some goblin guy who got killed by deep darkness dragon lord but thats only info people who read the web novel/certain tweets know apparently) or even entire guilds like the 8 greed kings and Ainz Oal Gown. Thus in the pursuit of power, the Dragon Emperor brought upon ruin to the Dragon Lords in the way of players hence why players are referred as "the filth of the dragon emperor" Oh, and how do we know he was going for summoning the world items and NOT the players? Well, by indirect clues thanks to the evil eye side story. As you know Ainz's red orb is a world item, and of course the guild base has numerous other world items. Both Ainz and the guild were teleported over to the new world, just at different times thanks to ainz going out before the server shut down. 1 world item = faster summoning, multiple world items = slower summoning. This along with the quick references of ainz and company coming across multiple other unknown (unknown for ainz) world items through their journey basically points to the world items being the objective and not the players.

Ainz and company spent 200+ years exploring a whole lot of the map we have no idea of and we'll probably be left to our own imagination regarding that. Though we do know that they were somewhere South East from our main time line. About the wild magic, the amount of souls would indeed be mind boggling to say the least. My own personal hypothesis is that the Dragon Emperor also used the souls of other Dragon Lords in said spell. The only real issue I can see in that idea of mine is that we aren't sure how soul (wild) magic even works. Is every soul the same regardless of how strong the being was/is or does it actually count? Does it species even count? etc. Since Cure Elim gathered 1.2 million corpses, i believe, for his armor. So its safe to assume he had at the very least 1.2 souls at hand + whatever he had stockpiled before. Unless they were all used up in the activation and use of said spell which made his zombie armor. Anyway, what I'm getting at is that he was able to use his Darkeater Midir/ Godzilla, soul existence erasing laser twice, with a third being possible only if he spent all remaining souls + his own soul for it. (hence why he only did it twice) But just how much did his own soul even "cost" or "offset" the requirement for said spell is unknown. Sure its implied it made up quite the big difference but its unclear.

DarkHellSpartan The Emperor using the souls of other dragon lords is a very interesting possibility, especially considering that World Items grant some measure of protection against the strongest Dragon Lord attacks. Maybe the Emperor was trying to make himself invincible by immunizing himself against the other Dragon Lords? The other Dragon Lords haven’t expressed anything beyond a general hatred for players, but that might also extend to the Emperor himself.

@@dangerbeans9639 Perhaps. I find it interesting how it was referred to as "Emperor" instead of Lord...which signifies he was somehow above Lords. But what made him be above them? Cure Elim was near max level (lvl 95 i believe) by Yggdrasil standards, and the other Dragon Lords are most likely at that same range if not outright maxed. So the only other thing that would differentiate them, aside from affinities and what not, would be the amount of souls they had at their disposal. Then again, we do know that you can gain stats beyond what the "max" is as Ainz's own MP surpasses the cap and the giant demon tree from the audio drama had HP way past what even Aura could read. This, combined with the fact dragons keep growing stronger as time goes by then perhaps the Dragon Emperor was a very, very ancient if not the first dragon ever? His motivations still remain unclear. While protection from powerful wild magic would be reasonable, dragons don't appear to typically fight each other and seem to follow the same dragon tropes we're all aware of. So maybe he wanted "the power of the world" and began hunting other fellow dragons for their souls hence gaining the title "Emperor" for taking down many powerful dragons? Players being called "the filth" of the Dragon Emperor basically has the implication of the Emperor being filth himself. So Dragon Lords clearly don't like him, but maybe just a little less than the players he brought. ninja edit: Now that I remember, Platinum Dragon Lord is supposed to be the son of the Dragon Emperor. Hrm....so perhaps they DID have an actual civilization and he was their Emperor? Hm....but then that would change a couple of things.

Alright I don't think we're getting our information from the same place. What's your source for your videos. From what I've read from the Light Novel Volume 7 Intermission and I quote "This sword- one of the eight weapons left behind by the Eight Greed Kings- was the reason why Tsar couldn't leave this place." The quote says he can't leave, not that he doesn't want to leave, he CAN'T leave. The Eight Greed Kings exsisted 800 years ago and since the weapon they left behind makes it so he CAN'T leave that implies that the Platinum Dragon Lord is sealed wherever he is and CANNOT leave. I could be wrong, I could have missed something if I did please point it out.

The reason why he can't leave is not because he is sealed, but because he is guarding that sword and fears that if he leaves, someone might steal it. When Rigrit met with him she told him that If he didn’t limit himself, he would be the most powerful being in the world. that implies it's his decision to limit himself by using his armor instead of his body.

To me the future that Ainz is going to give the new world is no different than the world Mr. Klatuu came from in the original "The Day The Earth Stood Still". In that movie he tells humanity that his people created a race of machines to enforce their laws; they gave these machines absolute control over themselves. So they live their lives under the specter of all-powerful death machines. So then the question becomes: do they actually live? Is life under and absolute, just, and brutally enforced law actually living. Giving up your freedom for security is nothing more than slavery. Living beings have the right to destroy themselves and each other and it is no ones right to take that away from us. What Platinum Dragon Lord wants is something that will never again be, and what Ainz wants if to learn if he is the only player in this world. Neither of them have the right to judge either of them.
