Nice video. Don't think Iyer is being picked for an Aus tour given his short ball problems unless he can fix them. Some other names that interest me: 1. Sai Sudharsan - Very technically sound player who has what it takes to succeed in Tests. Has been having mixed form in First-Class of late but I see high potential there 2. Prasidh Krishna & Harshit Rana - Given their abilities to hit the deck hard which could be important Down Under, I think they should really be considered as choices along with Avesh for the BGT or at the very least, the upcoming India A tour of Australia pre-BGT 3 - Baba Indrajith, Ricky Bhui, Shashwat Rawat, Vyshak Vijaykumar, Narayan Jagadeesan, Tanush Kotian, Aditya Thakare - All of them consistent domestic perfomers of late. Will be interesting to see how many can take their careers to the next step if they have a good tournament.

Agree with your list! Prasidh wasn’t too impressive in South Africa but we’re sure the team should give him some time! With Jagadeesan, the chance of a wicketkeeper slot opening up is going to be very very rare. With Indrajith & Bhui, the fight for the middle order is extremely tough and so they will have to literally continue plundering runs in domestic and IND A games to make it!

I believe he should, even after that freak accident. His impact especially in Australia and England in his debut series. He should be considered as a potential leader of the squad along with Shreyas Iyer Coming to Washington Sundar he should play a lot more red ball cricket in India, just because of his record in Indian Soil, remember that 93 he got against England.

He has scored only in slightly spinning conditions, failed in rank turners of SL & bouncy tracks of SENA. Kohli loves pace & bouncy tracjs more than Aussies so that he has scored better than them in Oz. His records in Oz better than in India 🙀🙀. Sai should be back up for Jaiswal and Rituraj should look himself at Rohit spot. Shreyas should work very hard for a place where he can challenge kl Rahul. Sarfraz should be groomed to replace Kohli .pant can challenged by Kishan and jurel. Washington should stay out of injury to look into Ashwin spot. Axer is ready for Jadeja . Sai Kishore should work hard to get a spot in spinning line up alongside Kuldeep. next gen fast bowlers need to work hard for Sami spot and backup. fast bowling allrounder is very very rare commodity. More over if everyone works hard India’s test future will be good

Performance dependent. He has been out of the test scene since long. He has to perform in domestic or maybe get runs in the upcoming Bangladesh series to get his mojo back and kinda needs to stop milking his accident which btw, was his own fault. They forgot because these are inferior quality players with technical deficiency to compete at highest level Easwaran has worst record in A games outside India. Indrajit has struggled against quality teams in Ranji. DONT FORCE RACISM EVERYWHERE, GILL & JAISWAL ARE BETTER QUALITY PLAYERS.

He struggled to get a substantial score against England Lions earlier this year. With Indrajith, it comes down to age and the sheer competition for the position he’s fighting for in the squad.

I hate the fact that you guys play along with the stupid fact of BCCI dropping older players, I agree with the fact the dube might not get a test opportunity but the factor to look for shouldn't be the age but his performance, Thakur, deshpande and Tanush kotian have done exceptionally well in the ranji, and we expect them not to be selected just because they are old is something not to be proud of. Older cricketers had a long rope even with the fitness standards of their time. now we start righting off players at 31-35 which is definitely not fair.

as it stands, it’s the harsh reality of players, especially fast bowling all rounders. Add to that, there is such a large talent pool which means the selectors can literally look at younger options and groom them into Test cricket. Sure, experience accounts for a fair bit but imagine taking 1-2 years to establish yourself and becoming an important part of the core setup, only to breakdown mid season! This is in a sense what happened to the Indian test squad of the early 2010s, leading to a huge void and India rebuilding almost from scratch
