The answer is already here!!! If developing Evan Mobley is top priority, the second priority is developing Emoni Bates. He’s 6’9!!! A 6’9 wing that can shoot like he can. That’s the missing piece.

This is the only dude I'm wanting to actually pursue and he's on a really good contract but I think the price tag will be too high even for him
@khalilgiovanniКүн бұрын
Nah, he's too old. I think he has the right attitude/mindset, but you want guys who are young enough to allow for a larger window in terms of championship aspirations. Getting someone significantly older than Donovan (in the world of sports) wouldn't be a good idea. Would he make us better than whoever potentially comes out in the West? Possibly, if it's not OKC (and depending on who we'd give up). Would he make us better than the Celtics to get out of the East? Eh, not really. There's only a few guys I'd want them to trade for, and they turned down one of em in the summer. He's injury prone and inconsistent at times, so that's fair. Another would be Trae Young, but I doubt they'd actually let him go. I say Trae because him averaging 10+ assists on this team while shooting at least 35% from 3 would be amazing. Plus his attitude here would be contagious both for his teammates and the fans. I don't think anyone who would fit and/or be young enough is available. Best bet is to let Evan keep growing. Let him grow to be that 25/12 player who shoots in the mid to high 30s from 3, all while defendings 1-5. If any additions are to be made, it'd have to be role players who can shoot and defend. Preferably no shorter than 6'8". Don't know who that is, though.

@@Clevelandsportsfann22 I am going to disagree with you on this, I believe the Cavs are a developmental Organization similar to San Antonio. The reason you may feel that way about Jalyon, is because he got a start and was able to showcase his talents. If your view on Emoni is based off of a summer league game after Bronny got to spend all that time training with his All NBA father as the reason, that to me seems shortsighted without the context I gave. Emoni is injured so it becomes a case of out of sight out of mind. JT, Tyson and Travers are all going to get their looks, because they are the next wave of Cavs players to form around the core, which is why you will not see any Jimmy Butler trades for the Cavs. Kwahi Leonard was not highly regarded for the Spurs, because he went in development for 18 months, the same applies with the Cavs.
@somedudeontwitterstalkedme38295 сағат бұрын
@@Clevelandsportsfann22 I hope that did not come across as attacking, because I understand your statement, but Emoni is here to take the place of what Max Struss will bring to the team, which we have really not seen yet, because he has been injured. Now you will have a 6'9 guy who has quick hands and a quikcer release on the parameter, who can shoot lights out from deep range. On defense that same lanky 6'9 frame with hand quickness to impede the path of and force shooting over on. Emoni has the skill set to change things, look at his Charge tape and his highlights in extended minutes with tha Cavs, the tools are all there.
