That's where it all starts Now the other good players get double teamed like he was and hutch. That's why they were so good. They couldn't stop above. I think it's people that don't truly get what's going on. They don't see "zadarius smith with the sack" every game, so they think he isn't doing anything. They just don't see the positive impact and pressures, because they aren't really "announced" during a game.

Yes..he's played against extremely mediocre tackles the last couple weeks and was close to non existent as a pass rusher..him being 32 is concerning but at the same time he'd probably look much better if alim and hutch were playing in these games...we'll see how it goes before it's a TRUE worry at this point tho..??

Smith has 3 sacks with the lions but according to ESPN he has 8 sacks for the 2024 session between the Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions. This means Smith leads all Lion’s players in sacks including Hutchison. Smith is putting in the work.

The answer to the question is a resounding YES! He leads the league in pressures from the date he joined Detroit. While that is impressive, our secondary could use more help by him getting home. I'm willing to bet he'll lead the NFL in sacks in the playoffs.

Bukowski? Oh, HIM...the Locked on Packers guy who had the huge crybaby meltdown about the refs after we beat them at Ford Field. Go pound sand, Petey Boy. Z can't do it alone, and right now he IS effectively doing it alone. AQM is the only edge we have with anything approaching Z's rush - the rest of our guys are more line bullies/setters than rushers. Our opponents know that and exploit/counter it, usually with double coverage, and our guys have to fight through linemen that the Destruction Duo (Alim and DJ) would normally handle just to get loose enough to rush the QB. With Alim out and DJ playing reduced from the shoulder injury (at least IMHO), it's far more difficult to get them where they need to be to wreak havoc. Like the rest of the defense, Z is doing the best he can with the limited resources we have currently. I have no concerns with his production and feel he's been nothing short of great. I rock the #99 blue jersey proudly. Big Z Energy! ⚡
