Here is why Shady’s point is useless. He should know this from being coached back in high school. For any football team, the BEST defense, is an effective offense. The most effective offense is one that keeps the defense off of the field. While your offense is on the field, your opponent is having generally no opportunity to score. Justin Fields shortens games and keeps the defense on the sideline. Sure, he isn’t putting up wild numbers, but winning 17-6 is a win. 21-10 is a win. 12-7 is a win. Look back at the 2015 Broncos team that won the superbowl. They had two games the entire season where they scored over 30 points. One was 31 and the other was 34. This was, I believe, the only team to give up more yards than they gained throughout the season, yet still with the superbowl. The Steelers can be a run-first, opportunistic passing attack type of team. Basically, the gameplan of Georgia Tech. You dominate the clock and take every single point that you can get. If this means kicking 10 field goals per game, so be it. This gameplan gets the Steelers or really any team into the playoffs.

These guys really need to do a little research. In Fields' six starts he averaged 22.9 points a game and went 4-2. During the remaining 11 games of the season Wilson averaged 22.4 points a game and went 6-6. This isn't difficult to lookup. They should try keeping both and enhancing other areas.

Fields is a better runner of course, but Russ played better, and gives the best chance to win. The ends of the year isn't all on Russ. That team as a whole fell apart. Russ isn't the player he used to be but the Steelers don't need him to be to win. Fix the O line, get another receiver, and upgrade the defense. If you have enough cap space after that, you pay Russ. Game on the line, I am trusting Russel Wilson over Justin Fields. If you can keep both, you play Russ for another 1-2 seasons, and then give Fields the keys in a couple seasons when he's better and has learned more. If not, then you trade Fields for a good pick and you draft a QB.
