Should We Be Worried About the BLEACH TYBW Cour 4 Trailer!?

I kind of disagree with the thought that Kubo HAS to show Ichigo's bankai. Would it be cool? Yeah. However, maybe Kubo wants to save it for the Hell arc? Also i feel like it would be very difficult to actually show since Yhwach can just break it in half. Maybe they could show the reality where Ichigo uses his bankai and defeats Yhwach, then it cuts back to the present reality where Yhwach subsequently breaks it before it can be used.

That would be a terrible choice. The whole point is that after Ichigo's grand speech about overcoming despair, his Bankai, his strongest weapon, gets snapped in two. INSTANTLY. He's facing a villain who is capable of altering the future itself, Ichigo's entire character revolves around the idea of shattering fate, of breaking the wheel. Yhwach is the embodiment of what Ichigo wants to overcome, and he gets his greatest weapon snapped in an instant. Showing Ichigo triumphant, even if you later want to reveal it was just a future Yhwach saw and changed, undermines just how instant and overwhelming that moment is. The ONLY issue is after Tsukishima restores his Bankai, we don't get to see what it does. That is an issue, but that's on the final fight.

I think the best thing would be to have Ichigo go Bankai, have him fight with it and “kill” Yuwach. Then we cut back to the moment Ichigo goes Bankai and we see it break instantly just like in the manga. It would be a good way to showcase the ability of the almighty to see and alter the future imo.

The moment isn’t Yhwach snapping Ichigo's Bankai. It gets restored later, the problem is after it gets restored, Ichigo doesn’t get to show what it can do. There is nothing wrong with the moment itself of his Bankai getting destroyed.

What I have a feeling might happen with Ichigo's bankai is that after it snaps and it gets restored he then use his bankai before entering the portal, who said anything about using it in battle. You can then have that suprised Yhwach scene seeing that his zanpakuto is restored after it snapped, but in the anime original we see Ichigo in his bankai state instead. That would be the best of two worlds (no pun intended).

Considering what Kubo said about having completely extra episodes, I think this scenario would only be possible if they decided to make EPS 40 minutes long. Us bleach fans need to calm down- when tybw was announced for the first time we were just happy to get the last arc animated and we weren't expecting fixes to be made. Nowadays manga readers are complaining about every little thing that they didn't change/fix in the anime, and now this- it's just the trailer we're not even there yet no one knows the exact events that'll play out but we're already complaining and thinking cour 4 is gonna be bad.

indeed, they have to plan it out properly since Kubo needs an estimate of how much the new content are going to fit in with the manga that is left. However cour 4 is already in production since the start of december, meaning they had 2+ months break with planning to get hold of the people they need for cour 4. so they are probably going to give a date when they have got further in to the project, meanwhile we have atleast Bleach rebirth of souls coming out in late 2025 march and the blu-ray for cour 3 in May.

I think calling this the final season is fine seeing as many anime onlys know or at least think this is the final arc. But something they have been doing is stopping advertising TYBW as the final arc. And I think anime onlys even they would understand that if Bleach continued is because of how successful this arc is. As for Bankai breaking, it is 100% NEEDED. That moment is so shocking. And truly sinks in how ridiculous Ichigo is. But I do think there’s two things to alleviate it. One, they can show Ichigo beat Yhwach straight up with his Bankai. And then on the next episode they have a “recap” except when the titular scene happens, the manga scene happens. The thing is, the viewers aren’t stupid and will have expected something to happen. As is, many are speculating Aizen might come back to be the big bad. Or that at least he’s needed. And not to mention when this happens, the scene with Hashbrown straight up tells Uryu that the Almighty does NOT change the future. And if they do 13 episodes as per what they did the last few cours, people will know something is up if this is like episode 9 or something. And then, we can maybe hopefully get and extended and greatly expanded final fight, with more Ichigo showing, we can rectify the problem even more because the audience will now know what he is fighting.

I know ichigo's true bankai is a point of contention with TYBW, but personally I believe that whatever ends up happening, the payoff will be better than it was in the manga. Lets not forget that after this we've still got the light novels possibly being adapted, the Jaws of Hell Christening arc, more Burn The Witch content, a possible reboot of the og anime, and Rebirth of Souls. Bleach will continue on as intended by Kubo, so there's lots of stuff down the pipeline to look forward to, all hope is not lost.

Couldn't agree more. The biggest mistake made wasnt that the bankai was snapped its that we're never shown or told what it can do. Leading down a trail of hype and praiseful remarks regarding it just to not give an answer for the big moment is NOT a good move. A build up requires a climactic finish or a cliff hanger, so heres hoping they show us this time round whether it's after the restoration or in a shot of yhwach future pov. P.s not sure if anyone picked it up but in the manga where it shows ichigo jumping from grain to grain as yhwach talks about the almighty's ability you see ichigo in the same attire as the one shown in yhwach's dream.

We already know Vizards are getting the Royal Guard treatment, they will get a proper fights and Love will go Bankai. Isshin and Ryuken are the wild card here but I think they will join their respective sons in their fights. So Bankai Isshin and Ichigo vs Yuha and Ryuken and Uryu vs Hashwalth. Soi Fon will probbaly join Yoruichi with Kisuke. And the last fight will get us Aizen's Bankai. That's like 4 or 5 episodes of extra content. Which would get us between 10 and 13 episodes.

In regards to THE TWIST, they've shown that they are obviously keeping it true to the manga atleast for the chapter it happens in. And I think its a perfectly good twist (heck one of my personal favs even), the problem is of course we need to know what it actually does. In the manga kubo was clearly in a rush towards those later parts, he had all of 5 chapters after yhwach broke ichigo's bankai and ultimately defeated him to finish the story. And he needed to fit aizen in there, end the jugo and gerard fights, defeat yhwach and finish the story. He is in no such rush here. I see it going one of 2 ways; we either get a vision of his bankai in action before the snap OR after it gets fixed we see if get used in a much better final fight (a calamitous one if you will). It would be quite a shock if we ended up not seeing his bankai in the anime, in a real fight IMO.

Yup, exactly what I'm thinking. I think it'll be kept true to the manga, in that it will break before he gets to actually use it. I'm on the opinion, that we'll see its true powers through Yhwach's Almighty. I'm sure they've figured out that they can do that, or at worst seen some Japanese/English viewers point it out. The reason I'm thinking it should be through Yhwach's vision is as follows: 1. The last clash isn't a 1v1. It doesn't have the same impact. Done right, the "break" could be more of a shock value than simply having it immediately shatter before seeing anything else. If the viewers are being led to think Ichigo just defeated Yhwach especially. 2. Yhwach steals Ichigo's powers. After breaking Tensa Zangetsu, he straight up yanks his hollow, quincy and shinigami powers out of him. Even if it's a temporary, surface level shave, it makes no sense for him to be able to use anything but Getsuga past this point, certainly not operating anywhere close to 100%. The only thing that gets fixed is the physical state of his Bankai, his powers don't return properly until later. This was confirmed by Kubo. Soooo I'd very much prefer it being shown as a flash forward for tonal and logical consistency, and impact of the moment. But I'll take it even if it's during the final clash, as long as we get to actually see it and not just him spamming Getsuga, then slashing Yhwach

One downside of showing us the vision before the break is that it has a cheap feel to it (ala twilight) and it won't have the same shock factor, somewhat ruining the effect of the twist. There's pros and cons to both ways of handling this. Either way I'm sure kubo and the staff will nail whatever they plan to do with ichigo's bankai.

@ that’s not how things work, TYBW is a long term project so things like total number of eps is never going to change cause it’s part of the pre production stage which is the very first thing you do for an anime. The reason why this cour had 14 eps is cause they adapted to the fact that, cause of production issues during cour 2 they weren’t able to complete the final ep that was originally suppose to end with the death of the SK. If cour didn’t have this issues Cour 3 would have had 13 eps like the others. The total number of eps is not something that can or will be changed, that stuff is set in stone from the first weeks of pre production stage Can they buy extra time slots? Yes but they won’t cause you don’t do a long term project like this without already knowing basicly everything about every Cour. The only stuff you look at between cours from the pre production stage is the script and storyboarding but how far each cour goes that as been decided years ago

Ofcourse they could do more and create another cour (5) by just slowing down the adaption of what is left and put in novels + tons of original content. 52 episode is just an estimate of how much they "think" they would need, like no hell episode 26 could fit the whole Soul king stab in the 5 min from what was left in cour 2 without being super rushed.

I’m not worried in the slightest. With what we’ve got so far, I trust them wholeheartedly. Kubo cares a lot about his baby, and he knows how much we care about it too. I’m sure there are other mangaka who interact with their fanbase, but honestly, I’ve never known a creative who engages as much with their followers than Kubo does. He cares. TYBW has been a passion project. I think we as a fan base is unique, we are patient and we can wait. We care more about the art, the story and most importantly the workers. I don’t care if there’s even 5 episodes or even a movie. If it’s an even 50, I’ll be happy. I trust them. I’m so excited. It has been awesome. If we get CFYOW, WWKALY, TSAAWY or TBFH, omg, it would be an honour.

I mean listen...the break scene is pretty much confirmed from the teaser. So that's 100% going to happen. It's just whether we actually get to see Ichigo at full power or not. Like others have pointed out, it could be shown during a flash forward through Yhwach's eyes. Or it could be somehow justified to be shown after he regains the Bankai (not sure how, as it was confirmed his powers didn't return until after Yhwach was defeated). But I'll take even that, if they wanted to justify seeing 100% Ichigo in the last clash. We have to see it though. Thing is, what many people who didn't read the manga at the time don't realise, is how much Ichigo was hyped up to have these godly powers. Only to never see them. The Anime hypes him up even more now. If it's never shown, I'm gonna say it's gonna be disappointing. He's meant to be the main protag. It's inexcusable to not have it being shown in a heavily corrected Anime now. The finale could very well be ruined if it's that big of a let down. Let's hope Kubo and the team have enough sense to realise it has to be done one way or another. Say what you want, it'll be a minority of glazers who'll be defending it if it plays out exactly like in the manga. Vast majority want to see it, because it's a fictional story, and it doesn't have to be realistic in that he may never get to show it if it was in a realistic setting. Equally as well, sometimes killing off characters for the sake of mimicking the random realism of life can be a detriment to any story. It's fiction and there are things we don't want to see, because we don't even like to see them in real life

5:36 After years since the Manga ended. And this point you made. I am on the side of The Bankai being broken. And Bleach did not have a terrible ending rather a very bery rushed ending. Now that The anime has given us so much needed new scenes that filled in some gaps to the story, and developed Juha as the Villain (he is definitely a GOAT) His defeat has to not be rushed. We already know Ichigo has the power to beat him, and His Bankai was such a threat it had to be broken. Personally I just want what his true power with that Bankai is and I'll get closure.

I think the best way to include Ichigo's true bankai without negating what Kubo wrote is NOT in the fight itself but rather in Yhwach's dream. Also I know a lot of folk want Isshin and Ryuuken in the fight. I don't. I want Isshin and Ryuuken vs Masaki and Katagiri. It would be INSANE. Does it have to happen? Not really but it would be incredibly friggin cool if done right and I am confident that it would be.

Kubo doesn't need to show Ichigo's Bankai. Bleach's underlying theme is always about over coming despair. If Yhwach's destroyed Ichigo's bankai before he could release it, then it must be overpowered aka a one shot klll to Ywach without time to dodge. Maybe we'll see Ichogo transform and then it breaks. The bankai had Yhach sweating like Piccolo when he first meant the supreme Kai. Then the anime has to show what our two Dad's(Ichigo and Ishida's) are up to in the living world and explain that. We haven't seen Ywach's happy dream. The final Fight needs to be flushed out. The Poison Stenritter fight needs to receive a better ending. Three guest need to be shown arriving or seen before arriving, but having our fullbringers shown in core 3 explains things. And then we have the time skip hat released later. There's so much stuff besides showing Ichigo's Bankai. Best thing the Anime did was fix Chad's story(thanks Kubo for letting the anime fix him wih your input.) Plus, the Gerard fight could change for the better.

I don't personally think we'll get any adaptation right after cour 4 when it comes to bleach Pierrote has alot of IPs they have on hold, i think they'll wait till whatever comes of Hell Arc in the manga I doubt CFYOW is worth animating anymore if hell arc happens, kubo will definitely canonize the SK and post TYBW reveals in manga format When it comes to bleach it makes alot more sense to remaster bleach og rather then tap into novels and such, given how positive OP remake and uplift was received Oh also i think itll be 13 eps cuz wasn't it confirmed 54 eps? It was actually 52 episodes that were announced before Cour 1. So unless Shueisha allows for an additional episode, which I doubt is their plan, we can assume it will be 12. If they did make it 13 that would be a great surprise though

Back in the days of the manga on several forum sites such as OneManga (ahh the good old days), no one ever had a problem with Ichigo's bankai being broken. Yuha being this unstoppable menace or rather a calamity, was conveyed well. The issue was with how Ichigo himself was being build up as being ridiculously powerful beyond anyone without us truly seeing it. Some notable examples: 1. Kyoraku giving his friends the soul tickets on the premise that Ichigo is gaining a new power and might become too powerful to be allowed back in the world of the living 2. Yuha commenting and prasing Ichigo's power during the final battle, calling it "such magnificent power'" even before going bankai. 3. The manga chapter itself at the end has the words "at last" when Ichigo goes bankai. All of that to tell us that "guys, this is it he's pulling all the stops" and THEN his big moment got taken away and we never know what he's capable of with it. The anime has been doing a good job of conveying what Ichigo can do but honestly man, seeing the broken Tensa Zangetsu in the trailer gave me anxiety. The events of the manga were excused by the fandom because of it being rushed and had to end fast due to Kubo's health. But now, there's no excuse. Ichigo's bankai scene can straight up make or break the entirety of the Blood War anime. Really. If we don't at least get to see why Yuha was actually afraid of it then it will just lessen the meaning of having Ichigo go bankai like it did with the manga. For all manga readers who experienced how things went down back when it came out, you can probably see where I'm coming from with this.

The fights so far with Pernida and Lille haven't been expanded at all (not that they needed it per se just saying). Not too sure if the last few fights will be either. Even if they do a 1-to-1 adaptation with the breaking of Ichigo's bankai, they should at least let us see what it can do. Or heck, I'll even just take a description/explanation from Yuha about what the bankai does. Just something. I wouldn't say we had *no* problem with it, so much as people were willing to extend grace because everyone knew the manga was getting canceled due to Kubo's poor health circumstances. People had *LOTS* of problems with it, it's just that almost nobody was such a huge asshole that they were willing to make a stink about it given that Kubo was powering through whatever was ailing him at the time (remember, we had no idea in those days whether he was just regular sick or terminal cancer sick) to give us *something* to finish the series - and for all we knew at the time, the cancelation was being pushed forward at that pace by Shueisha. We lacked a LOT of information back then, other than vague generalities.

Back at OneMangaForums quite a few people did though but it intially was just burst of rage. Most of us were raging out/disappointed at the time when chapter 680 came out saying the story was being wrapped up in 6 chapters, thinking it was all Shueisha's fault. What I meant to say is that back then I didn't really get the impression that anyone truly hated the idea that Kubo was going for some type of "shock value" moment with breaking Ichigo's bankai. Of course, only on the condition that we would get to see him in action with it afterwards. I remember quite a few people back then compared it to when Byakya broke Ichigo's fake zanpakutou in the early part of soul society arc and Ichigo later getting his "true sword" (at least what we thought at the time) and showing what it could do against Byakuya. But yeah, since his True Bankai never got shown and we didn't get to know what F was going on with Kubo/Shueisha until much later like you correctly pointed out, it just left such a bitter taste.

I still have faith, Basically every fight involving Ichigo on the anime has been heavely modified or extended. Hell, not only fights, There is even more build up of his powers in the anime. There is no way that one of the most disappointing/rushed moments in the manga will stay the same. If Kubo wanted to expand the story starting from the No Breaths from Hell one shot, he would have released new chapters already. It's been 3 years since he released it and no new chapter yet. An adaptation of that story is not on the platter. Cour 4 will finish the TYBW story but while I would like to see Ichigo's True Bankai and it could be done in the anime, I wouldn't throw a tantrum or get angry at Kubo if decided not to show it, its his story, not mine. I'm also curious if SP greenlights the adaptation of WDKALY novel since there is a video released where a part of its story is narrated by Ayako Kawasumi and the scenes showed Byakuya, Rukia and Renji were voiced by their respective Japanese voice actors.

Kubo has said he wanted to continue from there.. he said he's been busy to continue now. I mean he's been doing the last 3 cours new things in the anime. The new game as well. And now knowing the new arc is 60% to 70% new content. Yeah he already did a new arc basically by now. And well the biggest thing was he said he didn't want to do it yet and will be later. I personally hope they keep the bankai breaking scene as it is. The scene was never meant to show off Ichigo's bankai. It is meant to show just how dominant the Almighty and Yhwach are. Showing a future where Ichigo fights and kills Yhwach with his bankai would only serve to lessen the impact of Yhwach's Almighty as it is meant to affect the future before it happens instantaneously.

I would've agreed with you if Ichigo had done or showed something important in this arc, the problem is that he hasn't done anything in 4 entire seasons. And so what if lessens the impact? on the other hand, you would have a full power Ichigo for the first time in 698 chapters, probably one of the best fights of Bleach and it would also be especially good to further elevate cour 4. I'm sure that 90% of the fans would prefer all of this instead of "more impact". We already had this in the manga, and it served more to meme ichigo than anything else.

I’m gonna be honest with you, your 10 episode theory isn’t possible, tybw has been listed as 52 eps they cannot change that The only reason their was 14 for cour 3 was because it was meant to be for 26 so had to add another episode to fill that time they lost from production issues So it’s 100% likely at minimum to be 12 to hit the 52 mark, 13 to hit the 53 because they had a flood in production aka maybe the finale being 40 mins as one episode to act like 12 eps but realistically being 13 and finally 14 if it wasn’t a flooknand producers were able to get a extra time slot

We can't even see what ichigo bankai does is the price we need to pay cause "it's not the blade which can stop yuha". I am actually willing to not get to see Ichigo's Bankai. It's his newly acquired power. And I don't mind if he (Bleach story author) decides to keep it a mustery. Mystery also plays in increase of interest. Once mystery is over, interest dies down. And Yuhabaha is a kind of villain against which skipping Bankai of our iconic MC is possible. They did same by not revealing Aizen's backstory and what roots his motivations stemmed from and why he was unable to relate with others.

This is very unlikely but I'm hoping that after Cour 4 we get: Kira's novel as a special episode or series of episodes with past short stories that were missed (Spring 2026) CFYOW (Fall 2026) We do Knot Always Love You (2027) SAFWY (2027 or 28) Hell arc should then hopefully have the chapters to do seasonal releases.

Also, as a sidenote as to why I think Cour 4 has no release date yet, it is the one that has the least amount of chapters, but the most pivotal weight in the show. It also will most likely have the most anime original scenes due to how much was cut initially from that final section.

I think that Pierrot Films adapting The Blood Warfare as an anime movie special *(e.g. Studio MAPPA; Attack on Titan Final Season: THE FINAL CHAPTERS)* would also be a viable route for them to take. As for Ichigo’s Bankai; I’m fine with it breaking as long as Kubo shows us what Ichigo’s TRUE Bankai can do in his final face-off against Yhwach in Soul Society alongside Aizen.

This could be the final season of Bleach as a seasonal anime. Novel adaptations can either be OVAs, specials, or movies. The Heck arc probably won’t happen for a while or be prime for an adaptation anytime soon since Kubo isn’t writing it like a long form series so it might be something like how he handles BTW. I can see that being a movie or a BTW anime situation. Then there is always a remake (very unlikely but still a possibility to consider) which wouldn’t be wrong to call TYBW the final season as a remake is a remake and not a continuation. But yeah it is odd that unlike the first few cours they didn’t have any pre-animation nor even a release year. Granted the PV images in Cour 2 finale where of the first episode of Cour 3 which may have been added to Cour 2 but wasn’t due to how there was production issues.

Yhwach breaking the blade def needs to stay, it was yhwach at his absolute best. We can see TB ichigo in the final fight. Also, i don’t think the cour 2 into cour 3 trailer would’ve shown any anime footage if those shots weren’t supposed to be in ep 26. We all knew c2 had production issues which moved the last half of ep 26 to cour 3 episode 1. But some shots were probably already done by the time cour 2 ended, just not enough to fill the rest of the ep. That’s just my take
