That would be a really awesome truck to see back in service the way it was meant to be used…as a hauler. Weather it’s a farm produce, or equipment hauler makes no difference. Just seeing it back in service would be excellent, it deserves it being in that good of shape. You two always do vehicles justice, I just hope I’m able to see you complete it.

I've been doing rotisserie restoratons for many many years....I do all the metal fab, bodywork, paint, wetsand and final polishing....My buddy and I just finished a 49 Ford pickup for his dad, and now were doing another 48 Ford Pickup for another guy... and a bunch of other things inbetween...The respect you have for your adoring wife Joline....and clearly your passion for hand crafting and building one of a kind rolling works of art is astounding. Although I do the same thing you do, you sir are at another level!!! I'm not usually impressed by much, but I've been addicted to seeing what you are going to create next. Not very many can go from a vision in their head, to then translate through their hands into reality...keep creating brother. Keep creating...

They have a semi diesal to haul anything with? I'm guessing they bought this old fire truck to haul Jolenes race car in to the race's they been wanting to go to. I'm guessing that other thing he started with that car sitting in tip of another car is a no go became a bigger project than Chad wanted to get into finishing.

Dad was a truck driver for over 35yrs and yes I know what the air valve tool was……actually was going thru so of his bits and pieces yesterday and found 3!!! Best part was the wire and the tail shaft. Dad was always telling me how to do things…….his way. But Chad even I knew how to ‘wire’ it up. Again thanks.

I purchased a 1948 ford 1/2 ton with the split rear end with a 4x block to keep a wood bed with steak bed sides from going to low. Could carry a cord and a 1/2 of 10ft logs. Had a 6 flat head, granny 4 speed no seincrow with the single brake fluid can under the drivers floor, Still had the floor start pedal and a Cruz control cable to hold your speed. The BRAKES WERE SCARY. Sold it for $500.00 after paying $350.00 and a lot of wood cutting and hauling small stumps. Told the guy I sold it to, about the brakes and to watch the fluid, didn't do it, crashed it threw a tavern block building wall in to the bar. No one got hurt just tavern excitement. Thoughts were the days. Cutting fire wood, having a beer at the tavern and selling your wood, going to the market and buying a steak, potato and cooking on a fire in the woods with your six pack. You still had $75 dollars in your pocket after gas and your meal. Enjoyed the vid, as you see brought back good memories, your just starting a new one for you. take care

I used a 46 ford flathead 8 with a 2 speed. We hauled handle blocks. White oak for the whisky stave mill and logs and firewood ect. It had good brakes however it didnt have a booster or power brakes. You had to downshift and it was always very iffy. I managed to buy a 66 Ford F600 that we still have. In 1972 and it only had 20,000 miles. Good booster brakes larger 8x25 x 20 tires . Still have part of the 46 ford.

Daniel is right!... don't stand in front of those Wheels when you air them up because there's a a chance you could lose a body part or your life.. If those are the Firestone RH-5( look it up) you want to get rid of them... They don't call them widow-makers for nothing... if you do make a car hauler you probably want to change out that rear end anyways it's not going to be fast enough for the Highway... the hardest part is finding wheels with that bolt pattern and yes you can cut the centers out of those and have them put into tubeless rims or find wheels off of an old U-Haul truck or something like that that with a one-piece wheel... but you might find it better to update the entire drivetrain to something more current with better braking, handling and Power.. those old flatheads can overheat sometimes and if it's anything like my 38 Chevrolet 1 1/2 ton that I restored that had a top speed of 45 mph with standard steering and no power brakes you don't want it.. it's only fun for the first day

Solid truck not much you have to do with it put the front fenders on and build a flat bed with a ramp to haul car's on. If that's what you bought it for to be a car hauler? I have a picture of my brother's 1964 long bed Chevy truck with a small forgen car in the bed he was hauling off to the wrecking yard. Good thing he doesn't live to far from the wrecking yard because he would have got pulled over for shire. Well accully the car was stripped out so it was pretty light weight. Yeah that fire truck looks great as is just make the two front fenders match the rest of the truck won't be to hard to do. The hardest part is Chad to not chop the top or do some sort of radical change to it! Lol 👍🏾✌🏽💯🏁Go fast or cruise
