Really sad. But please refrain from using the word super cyclone with people's losses. It is factually wrong. It was not a super cyclone which did so much damage. A super cyclone or any extremely severe cyclonic storm does even more damage than this. People of Bengal were lucky that this storm weakened rapidly as it approached the coast and made landfall as a very severe cyclonic storm.

It's really devastating here...make this a national disaster...6 crore people have suffered in this super cyclone Amphan....you need to experience this in a metropolitan city if you need to understand what happened in Kolkata and other parts of Bengal....it was truly devastating in such a densely populated state of India....people from other states can donate to our official Chief Minister's West Bengal relief fund if they want to help us....as the losses occurred are both long term and devastating that also in such a Pandemic time of Covid 19.... But I believe God will bless us with courage, power to survive this dark phase also...!!!! 2020 is the worst year of my life till date!!!! My heart is bursting while I am writing this!!!!!

Well KMC did the best it could and everyone is working hard. But the cyclone has affected the lives of all in over 16 districts. Also, precautions were taken but nothing could beat Amphan. Here we r living without electricity and water supply for 3-4 days straight..none was left by the cyclone but the poor was affected the most.

This damage could have been avoided to some degree if tree tops had been pruned as amphan forecasted five days prior. Post day three of amphan we are still without electricity and water. In our locality huge number of trees along with electricity polls have uprooted and damaged quite a few building. Hoping and wishing everyone a quick recovery and my prayers for the deceased.

Think about how Odisha battles every year in wake of cyclones.....No one comes for our rescue.... Even we are affected by Amphan but as a dutiful neighbor we sent 500 ODRAF teams to West Bengal for relief work.... Even though Amphan is of less severity than Fani or Phailin or Hudhud or even Titli....
