Thank you sir, very good coments. Have a JD 1025 and a 1 acre property with trees and irrigation. Was thinking about a backhoe for when I have to dig up sprinkler lines or valves. At 76 grabbing a shovel is like a sharp stick in the eye. I so hate to pay someone these escalated prices that I did myself for so long. You make perfect sence. KC

You make good videos man! You should make more, specifically tractor ones, i could see your channel growing exponentially with your personality. Perhaps i am biased but you videos made a large impact on my first tractor purchase. A 2023 LT573CPS. Great tractor so far. Only annoying part has been that the filters were painted on so the 50 hours service was a pain, there are no hydraulic shut offs when changing those filters, and the dealer sent me the wrong filter for the power shuttle at first. But i have about 68 hours on it and has been amazing, would definitely recommend an LS tractor to anyone!

I loved the video, and even more so the information. It really is worth considering. There is also a saying in my country, "better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it." Anyway, very good and straightforward to tell. Greetings from Chile Jose Wagner

Great vid and info. I opted for one on my new LS MT235e. There are so many little and big jobs that I need done. With the backhoe, I can jump on and do an hour or two in the evenings. Can't rent an excavator like that.

I don't have a ton of digging to do, but whenever I HAVE had to, pulling up shrubs, getting a rock out, drainage, etc., it sure would have been nice to have a little backhoe to save my back.

Great information! I'm struggling right now trying to decide whether or not to get a backhoe option on a subcompact tractor. I think if I had one I'd use it more than I think but I don't know that I'd use it enough to pay the extra $7,000. That's a lot of rentals, which I've never needed to do to the point of actually renting a backhoe. I love your perspective! Thanks!

I definitely like saving money, but sometimes a tool will pay for itself. Our backhoe certainly has

Glad mine came with the backhoe. Used it so far to dig a big problematic rock out from our yard and to lift up a bunch of logs to waist height for easier firewood processing. Love my MT125!

I'm glad that we bought a backhoe as well. Some of the jobs around here would NEVER get done without it!

When I bought my LS XJ2025H they had a special on the BH for 2k (regularly 4k) . I had several projects to use it on during a pole barn construction (250 ft trench to bring in underground power, 150 ft for french drain). I probably would have spent twice the 2k to hire and have it done. My 2 cents, be honest about projects you will NEED IT. It is a very spendy lawn ornament.

Mighty fine trenchin mate! Look great for “power lines and waterlines” aka machine gun nests, spike pits and just plain ol filling with gasoline

Great points. I am on the fence also. Looking at a 36HP tractor, box blade, forks- and that backhoe adds another $8,000 that I may or may not be able to justify. BUT is adds a lot to my monthly payment too. May skip the BH.

$8k is a decent deal for a backhoe, but it's still a TON of dough

I know this is a bit of an older video but I’m looking at a tractor for a very neglected property and you sell 2 of the brands I was looking at. I’m looking at the Kioti RX7320 ROPs but the backhoe for that machine is the same one on the DK and I’m afraid I would be disappointed. We need to do waterlines, propane line, footings, and lots of other projects along with taking down a bunch of scrub trees. Do you have a preference between the Kioti and LS backhoes since you have experience with them? What about capabilities in general between the RX and the new MT473 PS? Appreciate any insight you can give!

Up until this year, LS and Kioti were using almost identical backhoes. I'm pretty sure the same company was making them. The RX is a machine I've used, and can say that it's a terrific machine. The 7320 is a little taller than the 6620, so you will lose a little digging depth. Shouldn't be an issue unless you're digging a hole deeper than 6 feet. Using a tractor backhoe is an excercise in patience, so if you're ok with "slow and steady," the Kioti and LS backhoes are pretty strong overall. The bigger LS is a great tractor too. I do prefer the loader on the Kioti, though. It's a beast.

What powers the backhoe? Does a larger tractor mean more power?
@HomesteadBandwagon8 ай бұрын
It'll be powered by your tractor's hydraulic system. The larger you go with a tractor, the larger your hydraulic flow will generally be, so bigger will definitely make a difference

Replaced the JD400 backhoe fe with a little Kubota KX43 1.8T excavator best move ever. Could see the sense in a 3PL backhoe if you have a nagging wife and can only have one machine. However in my experience the 3PL backhoes often end up as white elephants, being easier and more efficient to hire an excavator. Having a total of 6 various machines, they are a great hobby.
