Loved this video and agree a lot with most of the points, however in all of my mousepad collecting(zero soft, Hien xsoft, hayate otsu xsoft, lamzu energon, lgg Saturn) I've got to say the Hien still takes the cake as the most perfect mousepad for me. The otsu has very similar kinetic friction to the hien, but due to the smoother texture seems to have ever so slightly less stopping power, but is still an incredible pad. Glad to have watched this video.

How did you get past the abrasiveness? I Just got one by accident a couple hours ago and I love how the mouse feels on it but its distractingly scratchy on my wrist and fingertips (I play fingertip grip on arc tracking heavy games so theres a lot of constant skin on mousepad contact/movement) Will I get used to it or should I just send it back and order an otsu if its still bothersome in the next couple days of trying out out? (albeit lightly so i dont void the return warranty)

@@ravencl I wear a hoodie since it's pretty cold where I am all year round so I never really notice since it's my hoodie in contact with the pad, as well as the fact that I use a claw grip so I don't touch it. I would say if you're really bothered by it, it's probably best to wait until the end of the return period for now, but pads like a lamzu energon pro or artisan raiden xsoft offer surprisingly similar glide characteristics while avoiding the rough surface, and the energon pro has the added benefit of being cheaper and having promo codes for 10% off

I just accidentally got a hien instead of an otsu for christmas recently, and I was gonna send it back but after trying it I love how effortless and accurate feeling the glide is on it, but In the first couple hours I really dislike how abrasive and distracting the texure of it is on my skin. Is the difference in glide speed and smoothness, and specifically initial friction, enough to where I should endure and get used to the uncomfortable grit of the hien considering my enjoyment of the glide, or is it close enough to where I should send it back and get the otsu soft with no worries? I really just like how much lighter the resistance of the mouse is compared to my cloth mudpad, and I want to know if the otsu sacrifices that initial ease of movement for its softness in texture.

I have both hien soft (2 years) and otsu v2 xsoft (1year) and I think its kinda weird but a new hien is maybe a little faster than otsu but after few months of heavy use it become a little slower and less slippery than otsu and also a decent amount less abrasive (smoother to the skin - otsu from the start smooth to skin), probably the grit and more hard texture to skin makes hien faster, anyway now I feel otsu a bit faster (also it has a bit more slippery feeling than hien) becasue I used it less then maybe it will be slower to the point of hien, so I like both hien is a little better for tac shooter and otsu kinda for tracking heavy, in the end I think you can get used to both but hien is a little slower with more stopping power after the grit texture wears off, so if you prefer a little more stopping power and smoother to skin feel you can try to swipe towel on whole surface of the hien to speed the process I described before. ( Im not sure rougher than towel thing is safe for your pad ) hope I helped.

I own an Artisan Hien Mid, but i want more control, i feel like i over aim many times, ive a gpx with Tiger Arc v1 gliders too. Should i buy a Artisan Hayate Otsu XSoft. I think that one is the best option for me, i play fortnite, so im making flicks very often, tracking its important too. Thanks for reply any advise or recommendation would be appreciated, loved the video!

I got the tiger arc 2 gpx skates and hayate otsu xsoft recently. I got it because I wanted more speed than the zero but also keep the control of it as well. It's been great and I think it's the perfect pad for me
@iPain3G8 ай бұрын
I have the GPX2 and Deathadder V3, both with Tiger Ice glides and both work absolutely perfect on the Hayate Otsu XSoft. I also have the Soft version but i like the XSoft more. The XSoft has the advantage that it has a little bit more drag what gives you more stopping power and you can choose the level of stopping power. When you hold your mouse really light you can glide easy and has a good amount of stopping power but when you flick and want to almost instantly stop you can press on the mouse and the mouse will sunk in the Otsu. At first it was really odd for me but after a couple of days it grows on me and now i love it. The Soft on the other hand is a bit faster and splippier than the XSoft and you can't really press the mouse in. All Otsus are more or less control pads and slower than the Hien. I tested almost 100 mousepads over 3 decades and the Otsus are by far the best in my opinion and the only pads that nailed the speed in all directions.

I have a problem with choosing from soft or xsoft. I want to buy the Hayate Otsu but I still do not really understand the difference. Is the soft faster or is the xsoft faster or are they the same? I'm confused with that I have an Artisan Zero soft now and I have not experienced xsoft. May I get an opinion on what would b e best for me and should I switch to xsoft?
@nahhkkid Жыл бұрын
The soft should technically be faster because if you push into your mouse pad, it slows down a bit, and with xsoft that is easier to do. Since the fabric on the top is the same between the bases, the difference speed is very slightly slower on the xsoft. That is the main difference and concern imo. So I would think about whether or not you tend to press into your mousepad or not (intentionally or not). I think however, for the hayate otsu specifically though I would lean towards xsoft, as the particular weave of the fabric makes the pad feel a little bit firmer, and I found XSoft otsu to be closer to a Zero soft with a Zero xsoft being even softer. That is my personal experience so keep that in mind. Since you mentioned you use a Zero soft, I would recommend the xsoft otsu if you don't mind something a little bit plusher and the soft otsu if you want something a little bit firmer. I hope this didn't confuse you and helps cheers. Also I know hausgaming had a video on specifically the otsu xsoft so this might be helpful, describing how he used the extra plush of the mousepad to his advantage: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWepi6Cpo8iDiNUsi=PMAryBf3j9jp55DV

What you think about Artisan Raiden mid?
@nahhkkid Жыл бұрын
Didn't like mid base, it was consistent but didn't stick as well and wasn't as comfortable as XSoft (+ little bit more stopping power from softer base). Very smooth fast glide (pad is a bit faster than Otsu and very silky, nice on skin), very nice for tracking but tough to use in CSGO/Valorant.
@kururugi8221 Жыл бұрын
I love my Raiden Mid! It's silky smooth and consistent. I tried the xsoft version and it was amazing, super plush and comfy, but the Raiden Mid went on sale for $55 so I bought that one and returned my xsoft. I'm currently Immortal 2 on Valorant and the pad has been spectacular.

@@Ru2x i actually switched back to my my hien. I dont have the greatest mouse control, but my precision really suffered when i played valorant. I felt like there was both no stopping power, but also a high amount of friction to creat micro adjustments. Not a great combo imo, vs my hien which has decent stopping power and low friction for micros.
