986 S 6 speed manual with lowered adjustable suspension is a very good car to drive. The flat 6 sound is definitely unique and amazing in every way. 💯% although I am a fan of the 944 too. It's not about the price. It's about driving a unique car that has a high level of build quality that also definitely stands out by the lines/curves from all angles. German engineering 🎇

Excellent video. Even though the 944 was Porsche's lower end model spanning a decade, I would take the 944 (2.5 Turbo) because of the looks, rarity, interior, and front engine layout.

I drive (on weekends) a pristine 1983 5-spd 944 I inherited from my late father-in-law. It is fun. It is not fast. It is an enjoyable. But new cars are just better.

Well I used to have a 944. And I've got a 986 S with a tune now.... the only 944 that might be able to keep up with it is a turbo and I don't think it would. I do like the handling of the 944 it's very neutral but it's pretty tough to beat a mid-engine car... also have the suspension done on mine.. I do love the looks of a 944 Turbo.

The ‘S’ is the way to go, especially with exhaust! The sound alone makes it worth it. 986’s sound sooo good, much better than the ‘newer’ 4-cylinder versions.

@@HernanSpeed If you wan't to be road legal and have fun go with the 2.5. If you want to track it go with the S. The 2.7 is just meh. As far as the exhaust goes, just change the current exhaust with one that suits you and you are all set.

the Boxster is so simple to work on the engine. Just need to put it in service mode and remove 2 panels and practically the whole engine is exposed.

Popping the hood is easier on the 944. Yes the panels are easy to remove on the Boxster, but it’s still easier/faster to just stop to engine and get everything done ✅.
