I love how you're barefoot in your woodshop! That's one place in MY house you'd DEFINITELY want shoes! Interesting tool. They should have provided you with one!

This was a useful video for me, saw how easy it was to put together. If I'd done this video, I would have used a square and a 45 degree angle tool to demonstrate that the sanded edge is actually flat and square or 45 degrees.

Hey buddy, bare feet, no vacuum cleaner. All good until the first splinter or nail in the foot. I'm sure it would be easier for you if you used a vise, clamps and clamped the parts to the table. It is a good idea to use a protractor to set the angle, but actually indexing would be advisable.

Sold! The edge banding prep alone is worth the cost.

that's great that this works for all Festool sanders (since you didn't mention that it only works for one particular model, well 2 if you count the cordless version).

good catch.

Have you tried NOT loosening the angle adjustment knob too much? On mine, if I barely loosen the knob, then you can feel that there are definitely indexes at 90 and 45.

I will try that thanks

You're the first one I saw on YT videos that hold this tool the right way while sanding. All other ones, even Festool DE theirselfes, hold this thing with two hands. Cause they hold it on the sander itself and the guiding plate. Some even complains about that and how easy your thumb can touch the sander while they holding it wrong on the guiding plate.

that is good to know thanks for sharing.

Are there not positive stops? It’s okay if there isn’t but it’s Festool. , we spend a lot extra for their quality. Side note, I had a homemade cyclone on my shop vac and it dies when I saw a mini online for sale for a 125$. I jumped on it and added a cyclone to the top and I am amazed of how well it works. I was sold so I bought a sander and couldn’t me happier with its m😮 performance. I have been thinking about buying this attachment.

no there are not any stops on it. there are however depth adjustments to how far out the sander is from the guide.

I saw this and thought it would be something useful to have. My question is, is there other parts I need to buy? My sander came with a box and an Allen wrench. That’s it. To use this what else do I need to buy?
@HowYouCanMakeIt11 ай бұрын
You just need an allen wrench that is it.

Lol.Ive been a cabinet maker for 40 years. For thd last 8 years Ivd been building furniture for a well known midwest retailer. Its not uncommon to spend 4-5 hours straight sanding 3/4" drawer fronts. I use a 5" pneumatic Dynabrade and never have any beveled edges.

Judging how easy it is to sand the edges, especially the 45, without clamping the wood down seems pointless to me. I would have liked to have seen how flat the sanded edges were with a closeup of a straightedge, too. And all the Festool info I’ve read in Oct 2023 says it only fits the ETS 125 REQ and the ETSC 125. I hope they come out with a version for the ETS EC versions.

festool debió pensar en que se adaptable a todos los modelos incluso a los de 150 mm

My comment wasn't meant to make me sound like some kind of "sanding genius". My point was that this is an unnecessary tool. Festool makes great tools, dont get me wrong, they are just way over priced. Having said that, I am looking at their $249 orbital for my home shop.

It would have been so easy to make this thing tool-less so that you could just snap it on and off. I'm surprised German engineers couldn't have figured this out. Chalk this up to a design done by someone who doesn't have to use the product.
@HowYouCanMakeIt8 ай бұрын
I agree, taking it on and off is a pain. I wish there was a faster solution or design.
