Should You Buy The Hero GoPro 9? You might want to watch this before you make that decision!

On the whole I agree with you. I'm still using the Hero 4 black as my helmet volg camera as it's the last Gopro not to need that brick of an audio adapter. I've got the 5 and Hero 7, not convinced I need anything else. Not being able to change the lens put me off the 8, now they've gone back to a changeable lens on the 9! You are going to be sick if you bought the media mod for the 8 and find it doesn't fit the larger 9

Banditmanuk I honestly feel the best deal is the 7. Nothing that matters has changed since then. The rest is smoke and mirrors. Thanks for your comments.

I agree but I must be a gluten for punishment because I am upgrading from Hero7 black to the new Hero9 black without watching any reviews. Mine shipped three days ago. Hero7 Black shoots amazing vids. It worked great for months and months, then started freezing and locking up, stabilization would freak out and wreck clips. It would overheat sometimes and lock up. I sent it back and got a replacement and it worked great for months, then all of the sudden same exact symptoms on different cam with different mem card and different batteries. It really hates running off of USB power while mic adapter is being used. It starts flipping out and freezing a lot when doing that. New deal with H9B comes with 1yr of gopro+. So $299 for cam, and $49 for 1 yr of gopro+ which extends the warranty on my H7B which I will send back to them again. And then use the H9B in the meantime. And if anything happens to H9B I'll send it right back and use H7B in meantime. I thought about the Osmo and I like a lot about it but I really can't stand the macro blocking when there's a lot of movement on screen. There were a few other things I didn't like when I was researching. As much as I hate gopro and hate the glitching and freezing and big dumb stupid mic adapter and the cost of everything, I really love the stabilization and image quality these cams put out when they are working. Batts are $13 for the H9B (when I bought them) and got free shipping on the order too so that's not too bad. I hope they fixed all the glitching and whatnot. If not, I will never buy another gopro no matter what. This is my second gopro, I am giving them one more chance, but I agree with what you said.

BWX best of luck to ya. The updates have pretty much fixed the DJI, but some people still miss the ultra wide. Another good solution is the insta 360 r twin bundle. I have one ordered, and am looking forward to trying it out.

sixthisoverdrive Maybe I will try the Osmo too. Or maybe wait till they put out a new one and try that. The biggest problem with gopro is the freezing and glitching. Any downside to Osmo would be overcome if it never froze up!

BWX it doesn’t. I’ve used them all and this one is so easy to use and I never have footage that is ruined. I also use my cameras more than the average joe as I use them for work. A lot of the stuff I do is on tripods and it works every time from raw stills to hyperlapse and time lapse. In camera menu is awesome and quick menu button on the side really speeds up things if you take the time to set it up.
