Have had a 12.9 for right at a year now and have loved it. It's the only computer for home we have now. Use the pencil and enjoy that a lot. Love how fast it is. Plus, it's amazing for my wife who plays in orchestra to have all her music on a large iPad where she couldn't

koolkatken yes the Pencil is amazing. I can imagine that it would be great for sheet music, that's cool!

If you already have a smaller ipad then dont upgrade. Use the smaller ipad for travel and get the bigger ipad for home use. 2 ipads are better than one.

MrNonGod I have both for the exact reason you stated; small iPad Pro for travel and large iPad Pro for home 😎

Typing this on my new 10.5 Rose Gold 256gb iPad Pro. I love it. I thought the 12.9 would be just a tad too big for me.

Been a user of the 256gb model for over a year and no regrets. However with the new 512gb model shipping next week, I will likely be putting the 128 up for sale. I have been wanting a higher storage capacity iPad Pro for some time now and the 512gb is very close (hoping for a 1TB model) to what I need for my video and photo editing while on the road and leaving the Macbook Pro at home. On top of OS11 and a full blown photo editor at long last (though not from Adobe) Serif's Affinity, should make serious photo editing much easier and enjoyable.

cool editing. do you think its too late in the gen 1 cycle and too close to the iPad pro 2 launch to buy a 12.9?
@JerTheGeek7 жыл бұрын
Woodman94 thanks! It's kinda hard to say when the iPad Pros will be refreshed. Could be not until September or October. If you don't want to wait until then, the 12.9 is a great option now and has plenty of power. The only thing is it doesn't have some of the features the 9.7 Pro has; with an update it would gain those and likely a speed gain too. You could also get a refurb 12.9 for a discount now, that might make more sense at this point.

Latest qualified rumors are indicating a May, or maybe June release. (I doubt Apple will hold off until the Fall -- that would be 2 WHOLE YEARS since the first iPad Pro 12.9". They've never done that before.)

How was the refurbished experience? I feel cautious because I'm pretty sure AppleCare replaced my original iPad Mini with a refurbished model (unmarked brown box back in 2013). The digitizer broke right after my warranty expired. :(
@JerTheGeek7 жыл бұрын
miaogyver ouch, that sucks. My experience with buying refurbished has been nothing but positives. They always look brand new, and they are pretty darn close to actually being new, from my understanding. I've bought several MacBooks and iPads this way and never had an issue (well, I did have an issue with the MacBook Air but that turned out to be a widespread glitch that I had on multiple models, unrelated to refurb). I would be pretty confident buying refurbished.

Do you think a iPad Pro 12.9 128 gb, with cellular and case at a cost of $715 worth it? To top it off, the iPad is new
@JerTheGeek7 жыл бұрын
GameMaster 12033 that's a huge savings, I'd go for it. I love mine, it's a very nice device for around the house; I have my 7+ for when I'm out and about anyway. I'd definitely go for that deal

DOES ANYBODY KNOW? I don't want to buy a Pro 12.9, and have the Pro 2 drop a week later. I'm noticing that the availability of NEW 12.9s has dramatically decreased (mostly refurbs). Very few local Apple stores still have new one. Availability date at most local Apple stores is mid May. Even AppleStore website purchases indicate that shipping is not for 2-3 weeks (May time-frame). Does this signal a NEW LAUNCH? Or, are the Pro 12.9s in transit "On a Boat from China?"
@JerTheGeek7 жыл бұрын
Gregory Dale Mostella there has been some speculation about new pro models, but I don't think they will be here till at least WWDC in June, and more likely in September or October. It might be a good idea to wait till then because the 12.9 Pro already is lacking some of the features of the 9.7" Pro, so with a new one you could get those and more. However, September is a while away, so if you really want one now, go for a refurbished model from Apple, still a great tablet either way.

Victor Carr, Jr I'm hoping you are right. 2 years does seem like a long gap. I want the larger pro, but that crappy front 1.2mp camera is a problem for me.

Victor Carr, Jr Most stores and retailers are getting pro 12.9 in stock in May. It's a matter of waiting to seeing if it's the Pro2.
