Well it seems I was a bit off in my prediction of when this set's going to retire. We're now into the Assembly Square's 5th year and there's no word on it retiring as of now. That being said, if you're considering getting it, I do recommend picking it up as soon as you can since there's no guarantees for how much longer it'll be around!

Hey dude! What's up? Just wanted to tell ya, the other day I went to get Ninjago City Gardens, and while I was waiting in the store, I saw at least between five to seven sets of the Assembly's square! It's a pretty common set

@@Conner9thit hasn’t arrived yet. I do recommend the Boutique Hotel, I’m just hoping there is a good way to put the two together without looking like I need more modulars.
@willi88048 ай бұрын
For my taste, compared with the 3rd generation of modular building, this one has different style and is kind of old-school. There are some rare bricks, good furniture and some special building skills that would bring you more fun than others. But when it's finished, you would find the color is dark, and three buildings are jumbled, not mention the green base plate and ladder stairs. I am disappointed and feel weird to put it next to hotel and jazz club. I hope I have saved money for the museum@@Conner9th

I need some help deciding which modular is best. I am planning on saving up for a modular and I was thinking the new police station. As someone who loves story and such I think it would be great for me. But now that I am getting a good review (that isn’t too boring) I am thinking this would be a good first choice. What do you think?
@Lego4LifeProductions3 жыл бұрын
I don’t own the Police Station (and personally don’t like it too much), so I might be a little biased here, but I’d go with the Assembly Square. It’s a great value and is bound to retire soon, so there isn’t much time left to get it at a reasonable price. Whereas the Police Station will be around for a few more years. So I’d get the Assembly Square now and then get the Police Station a little later on. But it’s totally up to you. Get what you think you’d get the most enjoyment out of.

@@Lego4LifeProductions . I picked up the Police Station and the Book Store a few days ago. I just recently started with these. Will it work, linking the Police Station to the Assembly Square? I'd definitely jump on this if it does. Like I said new to this so not sure how these worked linked together. Thanks.

Yes! All the modular buildings connect to each other. They all have the same technic pins/bricks on the 2 sides so you can put any two (or more) you want together

I just bought this set today after hearing it is likely going to be retired this year! I think you are right, if you are going to buy a LEGO modular … this is the one to get! Can’t wait to build it! To date, I have never bought a large LEGO set and build from instructions … ever! For decades I have much preferred to create MOC’s only. I love the creative process and the thrill after seeing a MOC vision come to fruition! It has been very satisfying and fulfilling. I have purchased tens of thousands of pieces off of Bricklink through the years!

Had never thought of it as a starting set, but now that you mention it, I agree. The use of techniques from older buildings almost makes this like a sampler for a first time modular buyer. Very good point!
