I need to get my hands on a system blue drum. I know they sound bad but the novelty is so there. I have heard they are better as solo instruments rather than as a full line but I’m not sure

If you want a drum that is similar (if not the same) to a system blue drum, just go for the Ludwig Performance series drums. They look exactly the same as the System Blue drums.

I think Aquarian also has some primative Kevlar heads floating around and all the various pipe band Kevlar heads that aren’t any of the big 3

System Blue top tuned to feel, but a bit higher since it can actually still feel pretty soft in a true soprano range. MX5 bottom tuned to a D5. Bliss
