That's great to hear you enjoy TicWatch S2. Definitely, different people have different expectations from a smartwatch. I'm glad it meet yours. I didn't try it, but I will check it out.

Ahh haaa. Could be. But it still can be annoying. The new 4G version seem to be faster with 1GB RAM. Should give it a try.
@AnonMedic3 жыл бұрын
Have had ticwatch pro 4g for a week. I'm not concerned about one day battery life. And each night i power it off. I don't use 4G feature; and probably never Will put a live 4g antenna permanently close to my skin. I sleep at night without WiFi or wireless devices powered up. (Because they all give me insomnia; especially a home WiFi router) done a lot of research on the damage to our dna and mitochondria from wireless signals (mostly effecting the skin {CANCER} since its our barrier) so my advice (that's also better for battery life)... always charge your device when powered off if you can. and more critical for preserving lifespan of lithium battery.. they eat themselves up if 80% or higher. A full charge lithium battery stored unused will eat its reserve capacity over time much faster than half charged. They also don't like being empty. 15%-85% is the battery threshold I try to keep within. But I USB tether a lot so its killing my battery keeping my phone at 100. That chemical rule applies to any lith battery. 18650, li-po, or lithium iron phosphate, ect...

Yeah, it can be very tricky because most smart watches look good on paper. I'm glad this helped. 😇

If you want a TicWatch, I would recommend TicWatch Pro 4G version, only because it has a better design, more RAM and sleep tracking than it's predecessor.

2 days with Always-on-Display? I’d take that anytime! I don’t like your video. Your 1st Android watch and then say don’t buy ant of them? Just lost credibility with me anyway.

He he, I think I just had a bad first impression. However, I'm thinking of going for the 2020 model which had fixed most of the problems.

I have had it for a bit over a year and the battery capacity has started to diminish quite abit, I expected that to happen I bought a replacement battery but when I took it apart the battery is sandwhiched in the center of everything and snapped in tight I didn't see a way to get to it without destroying the watch.... battery life is down to about 15 hrs with always on screen turned off now it will be unusable soon. probly going back to a dumb watch for awhile.

Real complete smartwatches have max 2 days of battery life. Half smartwatches and fitness trackers get a week or more of battery life. All wear os watches, all complete android watches, the apple watches get only 2 days of battery life max. If u r using GPS and the fitness tracking continuously, u will only get 1 day. Please do not compare that as a problem of ticwatch

Exactly. I don't expect it to last 30 days with health tracking. At least 3 days would be great. In that sense, Huawei watches are way ahead.

GnomezGrave the Huawei watches don’t run wear os so the device is optimised for the software. If google made a watch I bet it would have very good battery

Nice review - but i wouldn't compare a Smartwatch to a Fitbit - they are completely different things - outside of being able to tell time - and yes, the TicWatch Pro is very bulky - I agree - the new Samsung Active / Active 2 watches are much thinner. This TicWatch Pro is the older model - the newer Model does not have that strap, nor the metal backing, better / faster chip, more RAM. you might be more impressed. Generally - I have never heard another reviewer , nor myself - not charge their watch (and phone for that matter) every night - so I know a lot of people talk about Battery life - but in the real-world testing - most everyone charges every night and it is not a big deal. I have owned this watch and yes, it is bulky - to bulky for my wrist - and it did have some slowdowns at times , but - it can run apps that other watches cannot - and if you are in the Google world - WearOS would be a consideration - Also - you can get this watch for $200 at times - which is almost half the cost of other watches - so lots of things to consider.
@GnomezGrave5 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's not the same as Fitbit because it's coming under Activity Trackers. However, I still find the new Tic Watch pro bulky. It seems faster, but no one had done a long term review. I've been using AmazFit for a quiet a while and I'm used to a long battery life. If the battery life is short, it can screw up the charging cycle and I can't track sleep. I like Android, but I don't think WearOS is there yet.

Yes, it can happen. First of all, this is about TicWatch Pro 2019 model. They have fixed a lot of problems in the 2020 model and TicWatch Pro 3. You can also check my TicWatch Pro 2020 review. The second thing is, this is my personal opinion about my experience. If you decide not to like me because I didn't like a watch, that's a different concern.
