Should You Craft These NEW Luck Potions in New World's Expansion?

There is a limited number of named drops that can only drop when you have the potion effect active. Eg there is a named tower shield called Stubborn Oak which only drops with the effect active. Vine of the barbarian is a flail which has the same thing, Agamemnon is a greatsword with 4 perks but no gem slot. Etc for all the weapons and jewellery types. The big thing about these is they can drop at 685-700 gearscore in the wild. Obviously must be a rare drop if you didn’t see any while you were testing. The perks for the most part are not really good though so no, it’s not that worth it.

But what are the spores used for? Are they just used to create more potions > to get more spores > to create more potions > to get more spores? There has to be more to it.

From what I can make out the Artemis Boon adds a chance at a roll on the "Artemis Collection" bucket. The five potions give a 2, 5, 9, 14, 22% chance. (With T5 you also get 10% chance at the Djinn Headwrap artifact, I would expect these %s to change before Live). There are 36 items available at T1/T2. Half are random trash weapons e.g. Hesperian Straight Sword, the others are the Hesperian gear sets (also availble at T3). T3 adds some better items (also available T4) e.g. Rhinestone earing T4 removes the Hesperian gear and adds the Sharak's gear sets (also at T5). T5 removes the T3 drops and adds legendaries like "You're a Beast" and "Olympian".

what tier is the spirit ring?

@@nokomoko8832Teir5 for Spirit.The 14 T5 items are all 685-700 and shown as Orange in nwdb (unlike, say Rhinestone, the T3 Item which is 650-700 and purple)

@@TamToucan Where did you find this information? For some reason NW database states that spirit ring can be dropped with any tier of potion. Does it mean that you are behind trade skill lock for some BIS gear since you can't make T5 potion jar without 250 smelting?

@@whoopsydoopsy From dumping the data and looking at the tables. The Bucket (list of drops) for the Artemis has entries like ringt5_artemisboon_v2 1 Table_ArtemisBoonT5 where Table_xxx is a "tag" that must apply to get that drop. For normal drops these tags come from the things like the mob killed, the area etc. and are in the loot table that links to the bucket (e.g. 'named', 'boss', 'corrupt' or 'Siren' tags), but since the "tag" comes from a player buff the static data doesn't have this. If that 'Tag' doesn't apply to the potion buff (T1 to T5) then there is nothing stopping you getting all the drops with the lowest potion, all with the same drop rate. So I'm pretty sure it does (note that the Loot table is split into 5 so having a T5 potion gives you the "Tag" for all i.e. you can get all the drops with T5 and you "roll" five times, once per tag). For NWDB to show this it will need a special check for this since how the tag is set isn't explicitly in the data. BTW If you think 250 smelting is a problem try farming 500+ Petrified Hearts. Currently that's worth over 300k on my server.

@@whoopsydoopsy you also need like 500 petrified hearts, it's pretty much impossible unless you have a couple million to spend on the tier 5 flask. you get like 4-5 hearts per hour and that's only if the statues are uncontested

So "you get the bottle back" means, you just have to craft this potion 1x and then fill it again with spores, right? I thought so, after seeing the crafting costs, but noone did talk about that...^^

I think its the damage buff thats going to make these really good for Savage Divide Mutations

It says they only work in the "Elysian Wilds" but hopefully Savage Divide is located within EW, even though it's an instance

I had tested and I can confirm they do work inside savage divide, unfortunately when testing found out the dmg pot is empower so its not really worth but the mitigation pot is insanely op

This feels more like the potion you take for the wasps, rather than a luck potion. Also it may be that you need to make the lower tier potion, to encourage the drops to get the higher tier potion.

You were getting 100+ dark hide per skin. Is the potion also affecting how much loot you get from Skinning?

Potions are probably used while farming spores to get the jelly you need for the higher tier potions. The damage buff will be great for fighting the Elite flower 🌸 “can’t remember the name” at the far left in the new zone. That thing effed me up.

I completed the Expansion Main Story Quest and i know one of them was to craft the vial, drink the potion. I checked all of the crafting stations and cannot see where to upgrade the flask or craft more of the potions with the different spore types. NWDB says Forge or Arcana. Anyone know? do you have to have all of the mats on you for the options to appear?

You need to complete a quest near the start of elysian wilds, there a dude in the camp that talks about spores.... finish that quest with him, he gives you a small bottle/empty flask. Then after that you can craft them through the arcana station (but they require cooking skill) ...if that makes sense haha
