Our society and surroundings further shoot us down with images of success that are not real, like Instagram posts about crazy beauty standards or making money scams. Those who worked extraordinarily hard for their success are ridiculed because it seems impossible for anyone to achieve without some sort of inorganic method. That's what the propaganda of social media has been showing us since it started. I'm delighted to hear a discussion about virtue signalling versus taking substantive action. I have an apprentice program in Africa teaching digital skills to youth. Dealing with Africa is challenging; it's costing me money and a huge amount of time. But it's also rewarding because the youth I train are immensely appreciative. Putting a black square on your social media is an entitled first-world solution that doesn't have any impact whatsoever on the lives of poor African blacks living in extreme poverty. It's reprehensible virtue signalling that must be called out, and I'm eternally grateful these two men are doing so.

In the case of Daniel Larsen, an ex-felon sentenced to 27 years to life under California’s “three strikes” law, Harris argued “that even if Danny was innocent, his conviction should not be reversed because he waited too long to file his petition,” according to the California Innocence Project, which took Larsen’s case. And while her trenchant opposition to decarceration of the state’s prisons does align with those stories, her role in attempting to subvert the authority of the country’s highest legal body, for the sole purpose of preventing the release of a number of low-risk prisoners, has gone largely unchallenged.

In all honesty, some of my agreement with Jordan ( over the years ) has led to conflict in relationships where the friend dropped me. So, in that sense I "sacrificed" friendships/acquaintances for The Cause...of Truth. Mainly dealing with individuals who were pretty high on themselves in narcissism or infected with Woke ideology. And like Piers, I'm not going to be bullied into any latest "cause", especially when it is superficial and a Flavor-of-the-Week. Some individuals have ended relationship with me because of that. No problem. Have a nice life.

Reply, so sad that you've had friends end their relationship with you, over having different views. None of us are perfect, and a part of being human is having different views. Maybe sometimes you could be the person with a wrong opinion? Or at the one with the correct opinion. We should learn and grow from each other by discussing our views and opinions!!! If you can't still come to an agreement?? Then so what, folk should be adult enough to just move along. especially because if you sat down and really talked about things, you would often find you agree on more things than you disagree. But if a friend or family member is so strongly aligned towards a view, political party, or ideology that they're willing to cut all ties with you!!?? Then maybe it's just better to not have them in your life? I don't know your nationality?? And could be way off?? But at a guess?? I'm guessing you're American because it just seems to be so often that it's Americans that seem to go so fare. Sometimes, on strong opinions, you're better to just listen and keep your opinions to yourself, doesn't always sit right, because we should be free to speak our opinions!! But people just seem to be so easily quick to jump to being offended, towards any opinion that doesn't go along with theirs.
@machtnichtsseimann3 ай бұрын
@@hirstydog - Appreciate the empathic and human reply, rather than quick hit-and-run! Yes, disagreements are natural and normal, and each relationship needs to figure out how open they will be as to sticky conversations, but to DEMAND conformity/agreement or else? Juvenile. And I haven't done well kissing @__ of puffed up narcissists. They needed me to worship them and their opinions. I can like them, love them, but not worship them. So, relationships end. You're right. I could be wrong about a topic, of course we all like to be right. I've also had to learn to stand in my opinion and not so quickly change my mind to passively submit to another's power trip. On the healthy side, better to be oneself with another who are themselves, then learning can take place authentically. Not dishonestly. It's a good way of loving a friend in welcoming them to be their true self! Agree, sometimes it is better to not get into deeper opinions. Depends on the context/situation. Over the years it made more sense to not get into political arguments at family holiday dinners. Even though an in-law is loud and controlling, it was eventually smarter to let her be obnoxious. And she is loving and generous in other ways, so better to change the subject. "I'm guessing you're American because it just seems to be so often that it's Americans that seem to go so fare." Fare? Did you mean far....or fair? Please clarify. My curiosity is piqued!

I really hope Jordan calls Piers out for what he’s said about Tommy Robinson over the years!
@mostawesomedudeever13 ай бұрын
They're in in the plan jordan Peterson work for the elites. Did jordan ever tell you that all western countries were taken over by a coup back in 60's and all countries don't have a government but are corporations. No he didn't you need me to tell you. He's a liar wake up

There is no “calling out” , it’s being prepared to have a civil conversation even if you disagree . I’d like to hear a debate about why people view Tommy Robinson in a negative / positive light.

@@annetinkler6081 I guess that comment was more directed at Piers calling out for the harshest punishment in the case of the syrian boy incident in school - at that point Piers actively partook in framing the whole thing without checking even the tiniest bit whether it was true. Tommy's documentary (which he was ordered not to show) highlights the real story and all the government "involvement" in that case. As for Piers' interviews with Tommy... that's just Piers' general attitude in debates. Mostly attacking, talking over them, without actually discussing points with them... but all in all, yes - Piers definitely owes Tommy a major apology in my opinion. The documentary is a good watch by the way - it's called Silenced - here on KZbin

The George Floyd incident never looked to me to be racially motivated. During that time my own son was going through a drug induced psychosis and he attacked several people before finally attacking me and his mother. Fortunately I managed to subdue him by getting him in a headlock. The thought was running in my head the whole time that holding him too long like that could kill him. It was all I could do to hang on though. He was begging pathetically just like Floyd but it was obvious that if he got loose my upper hand would be lost and the threat to me and my wife would be on again. I saw that cop as being in a very similar situation with regards to the risks he was taking. From my understanding the other police that were there were recruits and probably inept in their abilities, so it made perfect sense in continuing to use that particular hold to keep him subdued. Of course it looked terrible, but unless you're aware of the full context of the threat it's difficult to articulate the danger. It took 6 police officers to safely remove my son from my protection but worst, it was an eternity before that happened. By the end of the ordeal I was exhausted and I almost didn't have enough strength to hold him. The point is if I knew of an easier way to keep him subdued like that cop was doing I would have used it. He could have died either way and I love him as much as any father can love a son. Sure that cop may be guilty of something but from my experience there was nothing in what I saw that could confirm it. On the plus side my son is now 2 years clean and going strong thanks partly to Jordan's work. We're both big fans...

Happy for your son. But get the story right. “Chauvin knelt on Floyd's neck for over nine minutes while Floyd was handcuffed and lying face-down in a street” That is murder!!!

Really great how things ended up for you and your son. 4 years sober alcoholic myself, and Peterson was an integral part of getting me to that “I want to live, actually live” mindset.

@grantfrith9589 My Name is Phillip Schuster "George Floyd" please find and read my comment. Deric Chovi is an innocent man. I too had to restrain my stepdaughter for nearly an hour before the police arrived. She had been drugged at a local bar and came home out of her mind.

@@esau1620 Obviously You're delusional. I held my son in a headlock with similar pressures for over half an hour. He definitely could have died from my efforts to keep him subdued. By your logic the only thing that protected me from an accusation of murder is that I was lucky he didn't die. Forget that the medical reports indicated that Floyd probably succumbed to the effects of the drugs he was on and try and see it from a position of desperation and a need to protect himself Floyd and the other law enforcement officers that were there. Floyd is not a victim of anything but the choices he made as far as I'm concerned. It has nothing to do with racism or "Murder" .

@@phillipschuster4396 I feel the pain Phillip. There's very little to compare with how devastating it is to deal with one of your own when they've gone down that path. Hopefully your daughter is on the other end. My son is doing extremely well, so be encouraged that it can turn completely around. I still have underlying trauma from it but every day is a blessing. He doesn't touch anything including alcohol...
