Personally I like steady state cardio first thing (a walk or a light run) as it really sets me up for the day mentally. I also feel it makes me adhere to my diet better as well because Psychologically I don't want to then go and defeat some of the work I've already put in first thing so as long as you're not really low deficit and cardio is kept to reasonable levels I dont mind

When cutting (in a 20% deficit) is there ever an issue with walking (steady state 3-4 MPH) 30 minutes a day in addition to your 5 days per week of weight training? I would assume (and hope you can confirm either way) that it could only be a positive in adding some caloric burn, and not be a negative for muscle retention. Thanks!

How about just doing 30 min moderate cardio on an elliptical twice per week for health purposes?
