When that boat goes back in the water you will know that your hull is sound and it has been done properly. You are a chap who does things properly and that has its own rewards. Using old epoxy and having to redo it was frustrating but you won’t do it again. And neither will I when I do my bottom next winter. Thank you for saving me and others that frustration and good luck with your journey. Try to enjoy the getting there. You are not alone. Best wishes from England

You go!! I did the same thing this year and got most of my information from boat works today and I am back on water. Once you finish it don’t have to worry about it anymore and you can enjoy the water

You remind me of myself a bit. I'm not satisfied until I do the work myself and try my best to do it as right as I can. Keep up the great work, she's a beautiful boat and you're doing right by her! Thanks for the videos.

Appreciate the kind reply. Put the first coat on the boot stripe today. Weather still sucks but hopefully within the next two weeks I'll be back in the water

I feel your pain. Its spring and I had planned to prep my boat but both my vehicles are giving me trouble. Working on them first and am chipping away on the list and making progress. To ease my pain and guilt , when I had to wait for something to dry on the truck before moving forward, I power washed the boat. Brought up my boat spirits. I also just convinced myself that it will be ok to launch the boat in late spring, early summer and thats just what life is. You did a major and good job on your boat, the right way and be pleased with it. You mentioned $2K for a haul out and a quick slap it on paint job done by the yard. The work you did and saved your self , I’ll bet is an easy $5K plus job. Be happy. Go sailing and a few well earned beers.

Been there done that, the problem is getting fed up and getting another boat, It will also never stop needing things done! I'm sure If I got a brand new boat I'd be changing things with in a month. Your boat if you keep at it will have every thing the way You want it and you will know every thing about it. Your getting older so just keep at it and enjoy the boat!

doing everything yourself will give you that peace of mind you seek ... and when its all done you will sleep easier .... if the jell coat was sprayed on evenly in the mold you wouldn't have these void issues because the resin and cloth laid flat over a uneven surface .... you could grind the jell coat off and lay a new coat of resin and cloth on and coat 2 or 3 layers of resin and sand to flatten out till you're happy then paint it and go sailing ...cheers

Unfortunately fixing them is a BIG part of owning them. My wife and I are cruising now and I spend time every day working on the Hare. You just have to try to find the joy in each part of it. Best wishes.

Been there with my old boat. But you can never put to much money in your boat. Its for your own comfort you do this. Everyone who have an old boat do much too much. Do a greath job you will feel better after...... If you dont do a good job, you will be worrying

All finished and back on the water. I haven't totaled it up but I was close to for Grand with over 2 months work. Turned out great, very pleased with the work and thank you for the comment. Fairwinds.

Your beating yourself up for no reason. You know what the problems are and you can fix them to your satisfaction. If you have any doubts the internet will help take them away. KZbin has many ways to do something. Plug the holes then lay some glass. Once you get one done you may start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. If you want it done right you have to do it yourself..Remember to wear long sleeves and tape around the wrists.
