I love the dwarf neons. I had 7 of them from the time they were very small until they were about 16 months old. Beautiful fish! I fed them all sorts of food and they had no problem going after the Repashy I prepared for my cory cats. In fact, they were hogs about it! These are gorgeous, colorful fish. If it was dark in the room, they would "flash" and it looked like lights were going on and off in the tank. I noticed that in your tank, too. I sold my fish to a person who has had a fish room for over 25 years. I decided to put shrimp and nano fish into the tank instead. One day I may get more. Who knows! Take care!

I can't believe you only have 546 subs. You speak very well. Very detailed info. Good editing . Thanks. Just bought 2 males. There were no females there. Wish there were.

Ah, that’s too bad. How are they doing?
@kaydencontracting Жыл бұрын
@MattKeepsFish I ended up with 3 males and 1 female. The males all died or some reason. May have got caught by the crayfish. One swelled up with some scale inflammation.

A bit late to the party but fingers crossed, someone will answer my question 😊 For an australo-guinean themed tank, would pseudomugils (luminatus and/or gertrudae) be an option as tank mates or would the strong flow dwarf rainbow fish require be an issue for the small pseudomugils?
@MattKeepsFishАй бұрын
@@Beb_73 I’m always here for questions. Dwarf rainbows do not require strong flow, but they do enjoy it. They may be more boisterous and pushy than the pseudomugils, but I don’t think that’s a strong enough reason to keep them from being paired together. Keep searching KZbin. I’m sure you’ll find examples of these species cohabitating.

I just 12 of these...I love them. I've got a 55g and will probably get 6 more. They go great with my platys and my 1 angelfish

Hi great video! I just got a school of 6 yesterday there acting super skittish and hide whenever I get close to the tank is this normal? They also won’t eat until I am a few feet away from the tank lol
@MattKeepsFish2 жыл бұрын
They were SUPER skittish when I first got them, and now that the numbers have dwindled again, they have returned to that. Make the environment as low-stress as possible. Plants, decor, and a good stock of fish in the same area of the tank will turn these flighty fish into the perfect centrepiece 👍

I have the laser red dwarf rainbow fish. They are very similar but slightly smaller and have some red stripes in the blue. I also have mollies. Do you think they will eat the baby mollies when they come?
@MattKeepsFish11 ай бұрын
They have small mouths, so if they’re well fed and you have lots of cover, I don’t think they’d go through the trouble of trying to eat Molly fry. Edit: that said, there’s always a chance, and 100% success is more likely in a separate tank/breeder box
