I am noob too, but yes. You can use PCIE/wifi adapter card or usb wireless connection to get wireless internet connection to the modem/router. Some motherboards have built in wifi/bluetooth, so verify that first. People are saying that wifi adapter cards are better/faster than usb wifi, but I dont know the specifics.

Dustin Gangi yeah mine has been stable but you also got to remember that microwaves and other home appliances can interfere with the signal which is why for me some rooms have a better signal than others

For older houses it is more likely you will be able to receive a stronger and more stable internet connection via powerline adapter ethernet, but for most new houses the signal is cut and lost several times throughout the walls due to new technology

Ok so I’m super confused. Through WiFi on my phone my mbps download speed is 200+ and once went up to 400! While on my pc through Ethernet I get around 80-90 mbps download speed! I do not know what version of Ethernet I have sadly but I’m gonna get a cat 6 and I’ll give you an update when I get it

Buy an ethernet cable. If you're in your own house, drill some holes between the walls so you can make the journey shorter for the cable. Probably also tape the cable to the floor all along the way. However, if you're willing, you could just send it along the floor without drilling any holes in any walls. If you're in an apartment, make sure your contractor is cool with you drilling small holes thru some walls, if that's the option you're going for. :)

No questions are stupid in regards to computers; all you'd need is a meager ethernet cable. I'm not too in tune with all the different kinds, but I'd go with the fastest you can find (highest MHz and Gbps values) and make sure it's long enough to reach your gaming PC. And make sure your motherboard has ethernet support, which it should.

@@PerpetuusTenebris I recently remodeled my hse, kitchen, all floors dry wall etc. my mom requested I took out the Ethernet wall plate which was strangely located in my kitchen. So I don’t have the option for Ethernet plus the wire route would have obstructed one of two hallways (my house is build strangle, kitchen is in middle of hse) and my router is in the main living room on the other side of the hse the only way to run a wire.... a LONG wire, would have to go through the kitchen or main entrance halllway so all in all that won’t work for me. So how do I know if my mother board is compatible with WiFi via a buetooth source. Note I haven’t actually bought nor built my pc yet. P.S sorry for the novel
